Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney Hating on Sarah Palin

Rush Limbaugh discusses the National Council for a New America in relation to Gov. Sarah Palin on May 4, 2009.

That was Flap’s take in this morning posts, too, vis a vis the National Council for a New America.

    Here is El Rushbo’s audio.

Discussing the Republican listening tour conducted by Former Governors Jeb Bush (FL) and Mitt Romney (MA), radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh said they are “embarrassed” by Sarah Palin.

Limbaugh said the underlying issue of these speaking engagements is that Bush and Romney “hate” and “despise” the Alaska Governor and former running-mate of John McCain. Limbaugh added they have “presidential perspirations” and called their tour an “early campaign event.”

Limbaugh defended Palin and heralded her as the “most prominent and articulate voice” for conservatism.

Sarah Palin is a definite threat to Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney. Where do you think all of the latest rumors originate?

    From the LEFT?

    Nope.

Obama and his minions are focusing on Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner in California
. For without California, Obama will be in trouble in the Electoral College.

All of the rancor about Sarah Palin is NOT for 2012 but the “OUT” years of 2016 and beyond.

Conservative Fire Doused: GOP Representative Tom McClintock NOT to Run for California Governor

Well, it is NOT going to happen.

On The Capitol Hour With Eric Hogue today, the excitement over a potential Tom McClintock bid for governor cascaded over the airwaves like splashing whitewater from a heavy Sierra snow melt.

“This could be the positive, perfect storm for the conservatives,” Hogue said as he opened his noon-1 p.m. program. He fired up listeners on “intelligent conservative talk” KTKZ AM 1380 over internet chatter suggesting that 4th District Rep. McClintock may indeed contemplate a 2010 run against perceived party moderates Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner.

Hogue said three sources told him that polling for the race is underway on McClintock’s behalf.

But then McClintock doused the story.

“I just want to make it very clear that there is absolutely no truth whatsoever to any rumor I am considering running for governor,” he said in a phone call to Capitol Alert. “I have not done any polling and I have not wavered from my position that, if nominated, I will not run and, if elected, I will not serve. I don’t know how I can make it any plainer or clearer than that.”

Rep. Tom McClintock was interviewed by Neil Cavuto at the Sacramento Tax Day Tea Party.

After a closely fought congressional race last November, might Representative Tom McClintock be angling for another run for California Governor?

There are rumors on the LEFT and RIGHT.

There is little doubt that McClintock would do the polling and with three moderate Republicans in the race, Tom would appeal to the California conservative base.

    But, two questions:

    1. Would McClintock vacate a relatively safe Northern California Congressional seat which has NO term limits and…..

    2. How would McClintock raise the money to run against two mega-millionaires, Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner who would run against him in the GOP primary election?

    Stay tuned…..

    Update:

McClintock’s office is now denying the report and blaming the Dems who continue to covet his Northern California Congressional District for a bit of opposition drill.

Poll Watch: GOP Favored to Hold New Hampshire U.S. Senate Seat in 2010

Even in a Democrat dominated United States Senate, the GOP sees a glimmer of 2010 electoral hope.

If either former Republican Sen. John E. Sununu or current Republican Sen. Judd Gregg run for the Senate in New Hampshire next year, the GOP would be narrowly favored to hold the seat in the Democratic-trending state, according to a new poll.

A Granite State Poll conducted by The University of New Hampshire Survey Center found Democratic Rep. Paul W. Hodes narrowly trailing Sununu in one potential match-up and significantly trailing Gregg in another.

The poll of 503 adults was conducted April 13-22.

    Among the findings:

A total of 52 percent of likely voters said they would support Gregg’s re-election bid and 36 percent said they would support 2nd District Congressman Hodes were the election held today. An additional 10 percent were undecided. Gregg has stated he will not run for re-election in 2010, though Republicans have been urging him to reconsider.

Hodes also narrowly trailed Sununu among all likely voters: 46 percent for Sununu to 41 percent for Hodes and 11 percent undecided. Sununu has been courted by Republicans to seek a comeback in 2010. The Senator was ousted last fall by Democrat Jeanne Shaheen.

Flap wonders if Judd Gregg’s aborted cabinet appointment by President Obama would give him the resolve to go another six years?

Of course, this would be a perfect storm for the Republicans to hold this seat which the Democrats covet.

    Stay tuned……

Mitt Romney Swipes at Sarah Palin – 2012 Presidential Race Starting?

Mitt Romney with Eric Cantor on CNN’s State of the Union

Whether Sarah Palin even runs for the Presidency in 2012, Mitt Romney again puts himself above party and country and takes a swipe at the Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin.

In the latest instance of a high-profile GOP member taking a passing swipe at the party’s 2008 vice presidential candidate, former Massachusetts governor and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney jokingly dismissed Sarah Palin’s inclusion on Time’s list of influential people in an interview broadcast Sunday.

He asked, was “the issue on the most beautiful people or the most influential people?”

Romney, appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” was replying to a question from moderator John King on whether Time’s inclusion of Palin and talk show host Rush Limbaugh on their list of “The World’s Most Influential People” was good or bad for the Republican Party.

Romney, who has not ruled out another White House bid, said he wanted more influential Republicans on the list before adding pointedly: “I think there are a lot more influential Republicans than that would suggest.”

“But was that the issue on the most beautiful people or the most influential people?” he continued. “I’m not sure. If it’s the most beautiful, I understand. We’re not real cute.”

Mitt, face it. You will NEVER be the GOP Presidential nominee no matter who runs.

The Republican Party needs a new generation of leadership not retread, old and worn-out politicians who have flip-flopped there way through political life.

Sarah Palin may not be a GOP Presidential nominee, but I can guarantee Mitt Romney will not be.

Jeb Bush: Time to Leave Reagan Behind – WTF?

    jeb bush

Former Gov. Jeb Bush, Rep. Eric Cantor and former Gov. Mitt Romney (left to right in center) lead a “Conversation for a New America” on Saturday in Arlington as part of a listening tour meant to revitalize the Republican Party

Jeb Bush does not “get it.”

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Saturday that it’s time for the Republican Party to give up its “nostalgia” for the heyday of the Reagan era and look forward, even if it means stealing the winning strategy deployed by Democrats in the 2008 election.

“You can’t beat something with nothing, and the other side has something. I don’t like it, but they have it, and we have to be respectful and mindful of that,” Mr. Bush said.

The former president’s brother, often mentioned as a potential candidate in 2012, said President Obama’s message of hope and change during the 2008 campaign clearly resonated with Americans.

This is what his father did during his disasterous Presidential term which ended with eight years of Bill Clinton and what his brother did in taking the GOP into minority status in his Presidency.

Reagan offered “hope and change” from the stagflation and weak foreign policy disasters of the decade’s long rule of the Democrats in Congress and Jimmy Carter’s failed Presidency.

Jeb should be saying: “Build on the Reagan Legacy with a new generation of conservative leadership.”

    Sadly, he didn’t.

The national GOP needs to go beyond the Bush legacy and Reagan conservatives must retake the party policy machinery.
