Bill Rice Loses Finger Tip To Unhinged Obamacare Supporter

Man Who Lost Finger to Bite by ObamaCare Supporter Tells Story to Cavuto

Yeah Flap is late to this story but I had a busy day at the dental clinic today and will not post while I am on the clock.

Funny, last night when Bill Rice, my former long-time patient, was losing his finger I was a few blocks away watching the Dodger game in High Def.

An opponent of government healthcare programs had part of a finger bit off during a fight at a pro-healthcare-reform rally this week in Thousand Oaks.

William Rice, 65, of Newbury Park was with a small group of counter-protesters at a vigil Wednesday night organized by Moveon.org when a man bit off part of his left pinky finger during a scuffle, authorities said. Doctors were unable to reattach Rice’s finger.

Sheriff’s detectives Thursday were still looking for the man who bit Rice. Investigators also were sifting through conflicting accounts of the incident, but Rice acknowledged that he threw the first punch.

“When he got in my personal space, I popped him in the nose,” Rice said in a phone interview Thursday. “I felt like I had no choice other than to defend myself.”

The incident was reported at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday at Lynn Road and Hillcrest Drive, where more than 100 people gathered for the pro-healthcare-reform vigil.

Bill is a former Ventura County firefighter and his family is very well known and respected in the Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks area.

Flap recalls fondly when there was a fire in my dental practice shopping center, it was Bill Rice who came to my office and made sure there were many fans to prevent smoke damage. He gave service above and beyond – as has his son who is now serving in the Marines.

Here is a more extended interview:

Bill thanks for supporting our freedoms – in so many ways.

As for the miscreant that bit off Bill’s finger, if you live locally dude, you better watch over your shoulder.

Sounds like he deserved it to me. What did he expect? He assaulted someone! Biting someone’s finger off is a little bit extreme, but if someone is assaulting me and their finger ends up in my mouth, I might bite it off in the heat of the moment, especially if I’m getting the worst of it.

But that’s the GOP rule, it’s okay for them to attack you, but if you fight back then you’re evil!

The “impression” that Mr. Rice “deserved” it runs counter to the facts and the law. The two groups at this protest were separated by a street. The “biter” ran across the street and into the personal space of Mr. Rice. The “biter” aggressively and loudly confronted Mr. Rice. Since Mr. Rice is considerably older (based on the story of bystanders, and the photo of the alleged “biter”), he felt threatened. In fact, this is the legal description of assault. Mr. Rice had the right to defend himself in this situation. He does not have to wait until he is “battered” before defending himself against an able-bodied person acting in a threatening way. The “biter” should have stayed on the other side of the street. In spite of how I feel about the politics of Mr. Rice and the “biter,” I would prefer to be on the winning side of any legal action if either of these men chose to start one. Mr. Rice acted reasonably and responsibly.

I am the biter. And I do live locally, dude. And no, I’m not looking over my shoulder, Flap. Mr. Rice got what he richly deserved, hateful ignorant ass that he is. Should have got his head bitten off, but then my mouth isn’t that big, unlike Mr Rice’s. And no, Mr Rice isn’t “supporting our freedoms” as you put it. He is supporting ignorance, hate and rage.

Spare me the cheap rhetoric, Flap. Nation of laws indeed; typical sanctimonious pablum. And by the way, I didn’t run, Flap. I walked. My presence was no longer required. Justice was served, the deed was done, punishment was meted out to the hateful Bill Rice. Look for me at future Tea Party events. I’ll be wearing a blue shirt.

    What a coward.

Name yourself and present yourself to Bill Rice and/or the police again so he can swear out a legal complaint. Then, you can tell it to a judge and jury.

After all, we are a nation of laws.

    Nation of flaws, indeed.
Present myself to the trigger-happy racist cops, you say? Lovely advice, indeed.
You are a true idiot. Sanctimonious to the core.
As for my name, no problem. It’s Sam Upyerbut. You know where to look for me.
    Cheers, Sam,
