It is Chicagoland payback politics for sure.
Michelle Obama’s welcoming party was more like a stopover. She chatted with the ambassador, kissed Chicago Mayor Richard Daley on the cheek and gave her old friends quick hugs hello before climbing into the waiting SUV.
With only two days until the 2016 games are awarded, there’s no time to waste.
Mrs. Obama arrived here Wednesday morning to lend her support to Chicago’s efforts to win the 2016 Summer Olympics. As head of Chicago’s delegation—and her husband’s representative until he arrives Friday—she plans to meet with as many IOC members as possible to try to persuade them to pick her hometown over Rio de Janeiro, Madrid and Tokyo.
Is there REALLY a pressing need for the Olympics in Chicago in 2016? After all, there are demonstrations against the Olympics in Chicago and the latest poll says that Chicago residents are evenly split on the issue.
Doesn’t the President have MORE pressing issues?
How about the economy, jobs, war and peace?

Chicago will not be disappointed a lot if the Olympics goes somewhere else in 2016. It is one of the greatest cities in the World and will always have a good chance at hosting the Olympics. Chicago made dreams come true for many.
