Carly Fiorina,  Chuck DeVore

Carly Fiorina Wins San Diego County Republican Party Straw Poll

Screencap from the San Diego County GOP website

Flap has been sitting on this for a few hours but finally have confirmation that Carly Fiorina, indeed, won last night’s San Diego County Republican Party Straw Poll over Chuck DeVore.

This is a straw poll and a bit of a fundraiser but my sources within the Fiornia campaign tell me that her campaign did NOT buy any votes, i.e. when offered to purchase ballot packages they declined. Sources also tell me though that Chuck DeVore’s campaign DID buy tickets and thus votes.

So, either DeVore did not buy enough votes (remember how he manipulated the last faux straw poll), had little support of the San Diego GOP and/or Fiorina had overwhelming support.

In any case, in the first match up since Carly declared her candidacy, she won.

By the way, in the California Governor’s race, Meg Whitman beat Tom Campbell and Steve Poizner.

Carly Fiorina is running for Governor of California. On the up side, she can probably pronounce the name of the state better than our current “governator”. But she’s running on her credentials as the CEO of Hewlett-Packard. (Take your time, read that last sentence again…)

Carly Fiorina undermined and destabilized one of the state’s most stable companies, nearly single-handedly and in opposition to input and objections from those around her. She was forced out only after she managed to poise HP on the brink of disaster. Now she wants to “bring that experience” to Sacramento.

It’s false that government should be run like a business in any case. But even if it were true, it shouldn’t be run like she ran a business…

Thank You so much for bringing that error to my attention. You are absolutely right and it seems a silly oversight on my part. I am reposting with the appropriate corrections made. As I see it, the point I am making of Fiorina being a sub par business woman at best is still valid. Thanks again.

To tout the results of any “paid” for poll is ridiculous. And to report it as evidence of activist support for the winning candidates re: the paid for straw poll, ludicrous. $100.00 to $550.00 dollars to vote? Truly is Chicago politics right here at home.

    And the REAL winner was…

Mark needs to read her book – she did nothing wrong. She was ousted by a bunch of men and an idiot COB. She is going to make a wonderful Senator and soon to be President of the US. I hope she gives a tax break to all the business so they can hire people who are out of work due to global warming histeria. We need a leader like her – bald or not!
