    • But Steven Lubet of Northwestern University said no recusal was required. “Ms. Fiorina’s connection to the case was far too remote to trigger the disqualification statute,” the law professor said.

Dillon and Cannon report that Lerach wanted to raise the alleged conflict as part of a further appeal but that his law partner, Melvyn Weiss, quashed the idea. “If we do, we’ll trigger a firestorm of resentment from judges,” Weiss said, adding that Sneed had ruled favorably to the firm in other cases.

Neither Lerach nor Weiss are in much of a position to be lecturing others on their ethical standards these days. After a long-running federal investigation, both men pled guilty to obstructing justice by concealing secret arrangements to pay legal fees to plaintiffs in securities cases.

    • John Edwards will soon be indicted by a federal grand jury, the National Enquirer reports.

The tabloid has basically owned the Edwards scandal beat since it first reported his affair with Rielle Hunter. The pending indicted, they report, will stem from an improper use of campaign funds to pay Hunter.

And in a soap opera twist, Elizabeth Edwards may in fact testify against her estranged husband.

    • Sen. Tom Harkin told POLITICO that Senate Democratic leaders have decided to go the reconciliation route. The House, he said, will first pass the Senate bill after Senate leaders demonstrate to House leaders that they have the votes to pass reconciliation in the Senate.

Harkin made the comments after a meeting in Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's office including Harkin and Sens. Baucus, Dodd, Durbin, Schumer and Murray.

When asked whether the leaders had made the decision, Durbin said: "We are moving ahead with a version of the health care reform bill that we believe has a good chance of passing both the House and the Senate."

He then put the onus on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to signal whether she can provide enough votes to pass the Senate bill, followed by a package of fixes through reconciliation.

And, the Democrats will OWN Obamacare

    • Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he's obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson's brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

CA-Sen: What Does Tom Campbell Have to Say About Sami Al-Arian?

Florida Leadership Council Ad against Betty Castor who was running for Florida Senate

As Jennifer Rubin says Tom Cambell is struggling to explain his association.

Tom Campbell is struggling to explain his association with Sami Al-Arian, a convicted terrorist from whom he
accepted campaign money and who he defended when Al-Arian was canned by the University of South Florida. (Both these actions occurred before Al-Arian’s conviction.) He’s not the only politician who has struggled
with this. In 2004 Betty Castor ran for the Senate in Florida. Her tenure as president of  that same university and her handling of Al-Arian made for campaign fodder.

Yes, these are the type of ads that Carly Fiorina and Chuck DeVore will be running against Tom Campbell.

    Why, you ask?

Tom Campbell took the money and now is giving lame excuses. Shame on him.

  • Andy Stern,  Barack Obama,  Day By Day

Day By Day March 3, 2010 – Batter Up!

Day By Day by Chris Muir

What do you expect from President Obama. He has been bought and paid for by organized labor and specifically the SEIU who represents a good many government employees.

The White House announced on Friday, February 26th, Obama’s appointment of members to the Bipartisan National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform:  David Cote, Ann Fudge, Alice Rivlin, and  Andy Stern.  That’s correct; Obama has appointed left wing thug and  controversial head of the SEIU (Service Employees International Union)  to his new commission of fiscal responsibility and reform.  Andy Stern  is the antithesis of fiscal responsibility and reform.  At a time when  the economy is in dire straits, SEIU-United Health Worker members in  California alone earn double the national average even though California’s economy is probably one of the worst in the entire country and they will continue to earn raises.

Stern is the progressive, anti-business, anti-American  left wing extremist who deserves no place in the White House (although  he’s been Obama’s most prolific visitor since taking office).  In September 2009, Stern (who is closely  associated with ACORN) denounced anyone who questioned federal funding  for ACORN by calling them liars, anti-American and right wing  extremists.  In reality, taxpayers across the country were concerned about their hard earned tax dollars paying for yet another corrupt  organization.  Of course, the MSM neglected to report on this but you can see a full report about his lunatic rant here.

Pay back time for Obama and it is corrupt as well as disgusting.

    Union THUG indeed.
