Forcier writes that Carly Fiorina was responsible for the drop in Hewlett-Packard's stock price from $72.37 to $21.48 over the period of Feb. 10, 1999 to Feb. 10, 2005.
To be fair, perhaps Mr. Forcier should have compared the drop in other technology companies stock price over the same period.
For example, Cisco Systems fell from $98.56 to $17.53 over that same span, Intel Corp. from $128.81 to $23.50 and Microsoft from $160.62 to $26.06.

The Carly Fiorina campaign is calling for Campbell to correct the record and change his website: “Tom Campbell has refused to release this letter despite repeated calls for him to do so. Now we know why. The content of the letter itself, and the date on which it was written reveal that what Tom Campbell told voters in Friday’s debate about his relationship with Al-Arian—and just as importantly, what he knew about him at the time—is quite simply false.†A Fiorina aide goes further, telling me: “Tom Campbell flat out lied in the debate about what he knew and when he knew it, and he flat out lies on his new Campbell ‘facts’ website — it’s so brazen you have to wonder he’s convinced himself that he doesn’t have a terrorism problem.â€

How inconsistent can you be? The television commercials are being written as I write.

Democrats have been quiet as the controversy swirls over Tom Campbell and his record on Israel and associations with Islamic extremists. They are perhaps biding their time to attack in the general election. If Campbell is to be the nominee, there is no use unloading now. But Ira N. Forman of the National Jewish Democratic Council has weighed in, telling me via email:
This past weekend former Congressman Tom Campbell complained he was being attacked as an anti-Semite. Despite Campbell’s protestation this is not an issue of anti-Semitism. Campbell simply does not have a great record of support for the U.S.-Israel relationship — his relationship with Sami al-Arian is just one manifestation of that record. For the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC), the 11th Commandment — thou shall not criticize another Republican — is more important than their ongoing claim that they are all about Israel’s security.

Campbell's record is inconsistently explained and weak on Israel

On the surface, it may seem odd that, two years into his first term after barely surviving an expensive and brutal campaign for state Senate, Ventura County lawmaker Tony Strickland is already taking aim at a higher office. But for a lot of reasons, his decision to run for controller makes sense.
++++++
Absolutely makes sense and since his wife Audra is termed out of the Assembly and in a tight race for County Supervisor she can run for his State Senate seat should Tony win the Controller race.

US Senate
Chuck DeVore 194 – 68.6%
Carly Fiorina 89 – 31.4%
Governor (Round 1)
Steve Poizner 176 – 63.8%
Meg Whitman 66 – 23.9%
Larry Naritelli 34 – 12.3%
Governor (Round 2)
Steve Poizner 178 – 79.1%
Meg Whitman 47 – 20.9%
-
Gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner and U.S. Senate candidate Chuck DeVore are trailing significantly in their bids for the respective Republican nominations, but they got a bit of a boost today when they won the endorsements of the California Republican Assembly at the group’s Buena Park convention.
My colleague Niyaz Pirani yesterday talked to folks at the conservative grassroots group’s 75th Anniversary confab, and some said they needed to consider viability as well as positions in making its endorsements. But idealism seemed to carry the day. Poizner (11 percent) trails Meg Whitman (41 percent) in the GOP gubernatorial race, and DeVore (8 percent) trails Tom Campbell (27 percent) and Carly Fiorina (16 percent), according to a January poll by the Public Policy Institute of California.
++++++++
Meg Whitman is far ahead in the Gov race and the GOP nominee for CA-Sen will not be DeVore. So, the CRA endorsement is worthless.

President Obama’s words have always carried an expiration date. But, they will make great contrast ads in the 2010 Congressional midterm elections as well as his re-election campaign.
The problem in the 2008 Presidential campaign was John McCain. He would NOT allow the type of ad that MAY have led to Obama’s defeat.
Now, Mitt romney, Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich have NEVER been THAT restrained and their campaigns and that of the GOP in 2010 should be very lively.
Word on that……

Two Pakistani officers and a government official said Sunday that an American charged with treason for working with al Qaeda had been captured, a development that could deliver another significant blow in the U.S.-led battle against the terror network.
U.S. defense, intelligence and law enforcement officials could not immediately verify the reported detention of Adam Gadahn, a 31-year-old spokesman for al Qaeda who has appeared on videos threatening the West, including one that emerged earlier Sunday.
The reported arrest of Gadahn follows the recent detention of several Afghan Taliban commanders in Karachi, including the group’s No. 2. Those detentions have been seen as a sign that Pakistan, which has been criticized as an untrustworthy ally, was cooperating more fully with Washington.
Some observers were cautious about giving credence to the claim that Gadahn was in custody as reports emerged that the man arrested might instead be a Taliban militant leader. There was no way of independently verifying the arrest or identity, and detentions of terror suspects in Pakistan are often surrounded by conflicting reports.
CBS News was told by sources in the Pakistan government that it was Gadahn, even after U.S. officials refused to confirm it was the California native for whom a $1 million reward has been posted.
Later, CBS News’ Farhan Bokhari in Islamabad reported that earlier reports the detained individual was Gadahn proved false. According to a Pakistan security official who spoke with CBS News on condition of anonymity, the arrested individual is in fact “a Taliban militant leader who is known as Abu Yahya.”
The official said evidence compiled from an interrogation of the suspect and information exchanged with U.S. officials verified the man’s identify.
And, Gadahn will be tried for treason, when returned to the United States.
The American-born spokesman for al-Qaida has been arrested by Pakistani intelligence officers in the southern city of Karachi, two officers and a government official said Sunday, the same day Adam Gadahn appeared in a video urging U.S. Muslims to attack their own country.
The arrest of Gadahn is a major victory in the U.S.-led battle against al-Qaida and will be taken as a sign that Pakistan, criticized in the past for being an untrustworthy ally, is cooperating more fully with Washington. It follows the recent detentions of several Afghan Taliban commanders in Karachi, including the movement’s No. 2 commander.
Gadahn has appeared in more than half a dozen al-Qaida videos, taunting and threatening the West and calling for its destruction. A U.S. court charged Gadahn with treason in 2006, making him the first American to face such a charge in more than 50 years.
He was arrested in the sprawling southern metropolis of Karachi in recent days, two officers who took part in the operation said. A senior government official also confirmed the arrest, but said it happened Sunday. The discrepancy could not immediately be resolved.
They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.
The intelligence officials said Gadahn was being interrogated by Pakistani officials. Pakistani agents and those from the CIA work closely on some operations in Pakistan, but it was not clear if any Americans were involved in the operation or questioning.
In the past, Pakistan has handed over some al-Qaida suspects arrested on its soil to the United States.
President Obama should immediately press Pakistan to release Gadahn to American authorities and transport his sorry ass to Super Max prison in Colorado until he is tried for treason.
Congrats to Pakistani and American intelligence officers.
