    • In a way, the muzzling of “South Park” is no more disquieting than any other example of Western institutions’ cowering before the threat of Islamist violence. It’s no worse than the German opera house that temporarily suspended performances of Mozart’s opera “Idomeneo” because it included a scene featuring Muhammad’s severed head. Or Random House’s decision to cancel the publication of a novel about the prophet’s third wife. Or Yale University Press’s refusal to publish the controversial Danish cartoons … in a book about the Danish cartoon crisis. Or the fact that various Western journalists, intellectuals and politicians — the list includes Oriana Fallaci in Italy, Michel Houellebecq in France, Mark Steyn in Canada and Geert Wilders in the Netherlands — have been hauled before courts and “human rights” tribunals, in supposedly liberal societies, for daring to give offense to Islam.

    • Sen. John McCain on Friday responded to President Barack Obama's criticism of Arizona's new immigration-enforcement law as "misguided."

“If the president doesn’t like what the Arizona Legislature and governor may be doing, then I call on the president to immediately call for the dispatch of 3,000 National Guard troops to our border and mandate that 3,000 additional Border Patrol (officers) be sent to our border as well,” McCain, R-Ariz., said at a news conference in downtown Phoenix. “And that way, then the state of Arizona will not have to enact legislation which they have to do because of the federal government’s failure to carry out its responsibilities, which is to secure the borders.”

For Comedy Central: “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day”

    And, why not?

As a snarky response to Muslim bloggers who “warned” Comedy Central about an episode of South Park showing the Prophet Mohammed wearing a bear suit, one Seattle cartoonist, who calls laughter her form of “prayer,” is asking artists all over the world to create depictions of Mohammed on May 20, then submit the images to a Facebook page she set up.

Speaking on a Seattle radio show on Friday, cartoonist Molly Norris said she announced her idea as a way of countering the fear exhibited by Comedy Central in censoring episode 201 of South Park.

Even if the cartoonist has gotten “cold feet” so to speak.

Apparently this has turned into a mud-slinging fest, because most people posting on this event’s Wall just don’t get it.

Why did I create this event? I saw the fantastic cartoon now shown on this page, and thought it was a very nice (and polite + respectful) way of making the point that while Mohammed might well have insisted that he not be depicted by Muslims (to prevent idol worship), there are plenty of non-Muslims who value freedom of expression — and that we can all live together with mutual respect.

With many people all standing up for their right to depict Mohammed if they so chose, we would make an important point about how we were not going to cower before a handful of Muslim zealots.

I did not create this event to encourage people to be deliberately offensive, by equating the silliness of those zealots with the entire Islamic faith and its bazillions of adherents, a few of whom I am lucky to count among my friends.

Day By Day April 25, 2010 – Just Talk

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Congratulations Chris! You Have just earned a Fatwa for publishing one of Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard Mohammed caricatures. Did you know Westergaard has been involuntarily retired?

Now, Comedy Central is censoring South Park after the creators (Trey Parker and Matt Stone) depicted Mohammed disguised in a bear suit.

RevolutionMuslim.com posted the warning following the 200th episode of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s “South Park,” which included a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad disguised in a bear suit. The Web posting also included a graphic photo of Theo van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker who was murdered in 2004 after making a documentary on violence against Muslim women.

“We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show,” the posting reads. “This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them.”

Reaching by phone early Tuesday, Abu Talhah al Amrikee, the author of the post, said he wrote the entry to “raise awareness.” He said the grisly photograph of van Gogh was meant to “explain the severity” of what Parker and Stone did by mocking Muhammad.

“It’s not a threat, but it really is a likely outcome,” al Amrikee said, referring to the possibility that Parker and Stone could be murdered for mocking Muhammad. “They’re going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims. It’s just the reality.”

Looks like the radical Muslims win again. I thought in America there was something called freedom of speech.

Comedy Central bleeped out all references to the Prophet Muhammad in Wednesday night’s episode of “South Park” after receiving a warning from a radical Muslim website.

The episode was a continuation of last week’s episode which depicted Muhammad in a bear suit.

Comedy Central confirmed to FoxNews.com it had censored the show, and that the episode was not available on its website either.

In addition to bleeping the words “Prophet Muhammad,” the show also covered the character with a large block labeled “Censored.”

.Until authors, cartoonists stand up to these violent bullys this will type of intimidation will continue. So much for liberty and freedom at Comedy Central.
