    • When Irvine state assemblyman Chuck DeVore started running for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate more than a year ago, our first impression was that he was an affable nerd running something of a joke campaign built on Twitter quips and YouTube groaners.

By the end, though, he had styled himself as the booming-voiced Constitutional scholar that could rally all those aged jocks at the tea parties.

But in his post-candidate life, DeVore has returned to full-geek.

On Sunday, he'll host a three-hour show on KFI AM 640. The theme? San Diego's Comic-Con International. Yes, he'll be talking about the expo featuring all the people dressing up as anime characters and wookies.

DeVore is NOT running because he could NOT win.

Good luck with that radio career Chuck

    • With his approval numbers hitting new lows it's no surprise that Barack Obama's numbers in our monthly look ahead to the 2012 Presidential race are their worst ever this month. He trails Mitt Romney 46-43, Mike Huckabee 47-45, Newt Gingrich 46-45, and is even tied with Sarah Palin at 46. The only person tested he leads is Jan Brewer, who doesn't have particularly high name recognition on the national level at this point.

It's not that any of the Republican candidates are particularly well liked. Only Huckabee has positive favorability numbers at 37/28. Romney's at 32/33, Gingrich at 32/42, Palin at 37/52, and Brewer at 17/20. But with a majority of Americans now disapproving of Obama it's no surprise that a large chunk of them would replace him as President if they had that choice today.

    • Atherton police are bracing for the town's quiet streets to be flooded today with hundreds of nurses for a rally outside the home of Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman.

The California Nurses Association says the noontime rally — which is expected to draw up to 1,000 nurses to the former eBay executive's house on Edge Road near Menlo-Atherton High School — is a "response to a decision by candidate Whitman to mount an offensive attack directly against the" union.

"Since Meg Whitman refuses to talk directly to nurses, without the filter of her handlers and high-priced consultants, our members are coming to deliver a message to her: RNs and CNA will not be pushed around or bullied like one of her subordinates or subjects," said Malinda Markowitz, co-president of the union, in a statement.

    • Ronald George, California's chief justice since 1996 and author of the ruling that briefly legalized same-sex marriage in the state, said Wednesday he will retire in January – a surprise announcement that allows Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to choose his successor.

George, 70, has been a judge for 38 years and a member of the state Supreme Court since Gov. Pete Wilson appointed him in 1991.

In interviews since the May 2008 same-sex marriage ruling, George had indicated he planned to seek another 12-year term in November. But he said Wednesday he's decided to step down – not because of sporadic threats of an opposition campaign, or more lucrative work in the private sector, but to have time for himself and his family after years of seven-day workweeks.

    • America's economy is failing to produce jobs, increase growth or raise confidence, and it will likely get even worse next year. Our federal government's spending has increased to $3.7 trillion this year from $2.98 trillion in 2008. Publicly held national debt is up by $2.4 trillion in less than two years, to about 63% percent of GDP from 40%, and is expected to reach 70% by 2012. Add in the unemployment rate, which has remained above 9.4% for over a year, and America is clearly failing economically.

Next January the economy will be further depressed by increasing tax rates. The top income tax rate will rise to 39.6% from 35%, and the phase-out of itemized deductions and personal exemptions will effectively lift the top bracket to about 40.8%. On New Year's Day the tax on dividends is scheduled to go up to 39.6% from 15%, and come 2013, ObamaCare will add another 3.8%.

CA-Sen: Barbara Boxer and the Obama Stimulus Signs

Now, there is a flap about this example of Big Government waste and guess who lead the charge for the Obama economic stimulus signs?

As the midterm election season approaches, new road signs are popping up everywhere – millions of dollars worth of signs touting “The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act” and reminding passers-by that the program is “Putting America Back to Work.”

On the road leading to Dulles Airport outside Washington, DC there’s a 10′ x 11′ road sign touting a runway improvement project funded by the federal stimulus. The project cost nearly $15 million and has created 17 jobs, according to recovery.gov.

However, there’s another number that caught the eye of ABC News: $10,000. That’s how much money the Washington Airports Authority tells ABC News it spent to make and install the sign – a single sign – announcing that the project is “Funded by The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act” and is “Putting America Back to Work.” The money for the sign was taken out of the budget for the runway improvement project.

ABC News has reached out to a number of states about spending on stimulus signs and learned the state of Illinois has spent $650,000 on about 950 signs and Pennsylvania has spent $157,000 on 70 signs. Other states, like Virginia, Vermont, and Arizona do not sanction any signs.

    Watch this video:

    Yep, you are right.

Far Left California U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer.

Boxer Was The Lead Defender Of Millions In Funding For Road Signs Paid For By Stimulus Dollars To Announce Where Stimulus Funds Are Being Spent. They’re spending hundreds of billions of dollars to stimulate the economy, so Senate Democrats said Wednesday they might as well spend millions putting up signs to highlight where the money is being spent. The road signs, which let motorists know the paving and construction projects they see are being paid for by the $787 billion economic stimulus program, have popped up across the country. In a 52-45 vote, the Senate decided the signs should stay. Why on earth would you want to hide from the American people the fact that the recovery package we passed is putting people to work? asked Sen. Barbara Boxer, California Democrat, who took the lead in defending the expenditure.

And, the signs are visible here in Southern California – on the U.S 101 and U.S 405. But, what do you expect from the Big Government philosophy of the Far Left like Obama and Boxer?

Remember when President Bill Clinton said the Era of Big Government was over?

Guess Senator Boxer will be reminded of this come November. I can see the television ads from Carly Fiorina already.

Day By Day July 15, 2010 – Racist

Day By Day by Chris Muir

The RACIST Meme is getting old.

A clear pattern of behavior has emerged over the last 16 months. According to liberals, if you disagree with their thinking, and if you disagree with the Obama administration, you are not only wrong, you are a “racist.”

The latest strike by the left comes from the NAACP, which has resolved that the tea party movement is inherently “racist.” At its most simple, this is a direct attack on the First Amendment rights of millions of Americans.

The NAACP has long history of liberalism and racism.

If you are a conservative — including a conservative African-American — there is no room for you at the NAACP. If you have opinions that differ from the NAACP and the liberal establishment, and if you are African-American, you are an “Uncle Tom,” a “negro,” “not black enough” and “against our people.”

In other words, the NAACP fancies itself the thought police for millions of black Americans. Disagree with them and you will be ostracized and attacked. You will be subjected to public humiliation and racist commentary from NAACP leadership. The message is clear: Tow the line or pay the price.

The fact is the Hope and Change of President Obama has not brought about the nirvana that African Americans desired/expected. So, hence the BLAME GAME.

One of these years, the NAACP will wise up and understand the lip service the Democrat Party delivers them – and no real policies that help their community.
