    • South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R) announcement that he will vote in favor of Elena Kagan's nomination to the Supreme Court is likely to further incite conservatives already unhappy with him and, according to close observers of the state's politics, ensures he will face a serious primary challenge in 2014.

"I think there's a good reason for a conservative to vote yes," Graham said this morning.

Graham's apostasy on Kagan comes after other high profile breaks with conservatives in his state (and nationally) over climate change and immigration reform and will likely make him a central target of those tea party Republicans who helped oust Utah Sen. Bob Bennett in his bid for renomination earlier this year.

"It's no longer a question of 'if' but 'who' and 'how many'," said one South Carolina Republican operative about a Graham primary challenge.

    • It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign.

The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?”

Missile Defense Watch: United States Navy Uses Laser to Shoot Down Drones

This new unclassified silent video shows during a recent test, a Navy laser using a tracking system from Raytheon to shoot down the unmanned aerial vehicles with lasers

The money quote of the day: “The targets came in over the ocean, and it was a good day for lasers, bad day for drones.”

    Indeed.

Remember when the LEFT including Vice President Joe Biden used to ridicule President Reagan and Star Wars?

It is true that Harry Reid has raised a ton of campaign cash and is running negative Angle ads 24/7 on Las Vegas television. But, the Nevada economy is in the crapper and voters are angry.

This one may very well go down to the wire.

Barack Obama, Jeremiah Wright and the American Journalism Obituary

President Barack Obama visits the White House press briefing room, January 2009

    Andrew Breitbart is RIGHT.

American journalism died a long time ago; today Tucker Carlson got around to running the obituary. What The Daily Caller has unearthed proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that most media organizations are either complicit by participation in the treachery that is Journolist, or are guilty of sitting back and watching Alinsky warfare being waged against all that challenged the progressive orthodoxy. The scandal predictably involves journalists posing as professors posing as experts. But dressed down they are nothing but street thugs. They deserve the deepest levels of public consternation. We must demand that they do.

The only way that the media will recover from the horrifyingdiscoveries found in the Journolist is to investigate and investigateuntil every guilty reporter, professor and institution is laid bare begging America for forgiveness. Will they do it?

Killing stories to benefit Barack Obama. What a shocker.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Signs Legislation Declaring Ronald Reagan Day in California

President Barack Obama, seated, joined by former first lady Nancy Reagan, left, and others, signs the Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission Act during a ceremony in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House in Washington, Tuesday, June 2, 2009. From left are, Nancy Reagan, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., the president, Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., Rep. Elton Gallegly, R-Calif., and Rep. Bill Foster, D-Ill.

One of the few things the unpopular California Governor Schwarzenegger has done right.

California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced today that the US state will celebrate Ronald Reagan Day annually on February 6.

Gov Schwarzenegger said the move was to acknowledge the former US president’s life accomplishments and his contributions to California.

Reagan – who was born on February 6, 1911 and died on June 5, 2004 – was governor of California from 1967-1975 before holding the office of president between 1980 and 1988. He was succeeded by George Bush.

Governor Schwarzenegger said: “With this legislation, we celebrate Ronald Reagan’s incredible legacy and his spirit of optimism. Our nation is stronger because of him, and it is important for future Californians to learn about and acknowledge the extraordinary work he did for the state and country he loved.”

On February 6, all public schools and education institutions will be encouraged to engage in exercises remembering the life of the former president, recognising his accomplishments and the contributions he made to California.

The Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission will be tasked with honouring and promoting the celebration of the 100th anniversary of President Ronald Reagan’s birthday on February 6, 2011.

And, the 100th anniversary should be quite the celebration. Tickets will be hard to obtain but I hope to cover the celebration.
