  • Despite its name, membership in the liberal online community Journolist wasn’t limited to journalists. Present among the bloggers, reporters and editors were a number of professional political operatives, including top White House economic advisors, key Obama political appointees, and Democratic campaign veterans. Some left government to join Journolist. Others took the opposite route. A few contributed to Journolist from their perches in politics. At times, it became difficult to tell who was supposed to be covering policy and who was trying to make it.

    Not a surprise

  • Could an anti-illegal immigration initiative along the lines of the Arizona law, now partially blocked from going into effect, ever become law in California?

A recent Field Poll suggests that were such an initiative to make it onto the ballot, it would get strong support from California's electorate, just as Proposition 187, the initiative stripping illegal immigrants of a range of benefits, did in 1994. An earlier Field Poll found that Californians were more likely to vote for candidates who supported the Arizona law.
According to the most recent Field Poll (conducted between June 22 and July 5), there is clear-cut support for the Arizona law among likely voters in California. Forty-one percent are strongly in favor and 13 percent are somewhat in favor of the law. That's compared to 32 percent who are strongly opposed and 11 percent somewhat opposed.
    ++++++
An initiative would pass and then the court challenges.

casenrcp CA Sen Poll Watch: Barbara Boxer 39% Vs. Carly Fiorina 34% Vs Undecided 22%

Courtesy of Real Clear Politics

Plenty of play left for Carly Fiorina after the lazy days of summer politics in California.
With the campaigns in full swing over what are supposed to be lazy summer months, a new survey from the Public Policy Institute of California finds the races for governor and U.S. Senate are both up for grabs.

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown is leading his Republican opponent Meg Whitman, 37% to 34%. Meanwhile, Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer is ahead of Republican Carly Fiorina, 39% to 34%.

When the media campaigns heat up after Labor Day, we will know the extent of anti-incumbent sentiment in solid Democrat California. Until then, enjoy the summer and fluctuating poll numbers.

The LEFT has a track record of failure in American politics.

Remember Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter and now Barack Obama?

The only LEFT/Democrat President who has realized a modicum of success was Bill Clinton who declared the “Era of Big Government was over” and initiated welfare reform.

American voters will correct their mistakes of the past four years in November and bring balance back to government. Count on it.

Chris Schauble says WTF live on NBC, Los Angeles

Guess poor Chris Schauble has been suspended/demoted/transferred to weekend anchor at KNBC, Los Angeles duty after his WTF moment.

Chris Schauble was reporting an update about Jaycee Dugard, the California woman who was kidnapped in 1991 and held for 18 years in the backyard of a convicted rapist. The video shown, however, was of Abby Sunderland — the 16-year-old girl who went missing for several days last month while trying to sail solo around the world.

The video mixup prompted Schauble to mouth the explicit phrase (which is an abbreviation for “What The Fuck?”) to viewers. It didn’t take Chris long to realize that the camera had returned to two-shot frame and still being filmed.

The network has since issued an apology over the incident. NBC Los Angeles told TMZ Thursday: “This morning one of our morning anchors mouthed an inappropriate word on air. It was inadvertent and we regret the error.”

Kind of a shame for Chris. I enjoyed his early morning banter and his fitness pieces early in the morning. Now, the only good part of the early morning news is the weather and traffic:

elita 2 WTF Happened to KNBC News Anchor Chris Schauble?

Elita Loresca of KNBC, Los Angeles

Yeah, I know I am shameless to sneak in a photo of Elita.

But, I met Chris Schauble at the Los Angeles Marathon Expo last March and he was a nice, stand up type of guy. Let’s hope he serves a brief purgatory on the weekends and rejoins the early morning news team.

And, soon…..

Day By Day by Chris Muir

The entire Shirley Sherrod Flap has created quite the problems for President Obama.

Mark Knoller mentioned a potential wrongful termination lawsuit in passing. And now the media and the administration seem intent on making her disappear. One theory on that I’ve heard is, they don’t want people asking questions about her lawsuit. What I’m wondering is, maybe they don’t want people asking questions about Obama.

He worshiped with Jeremiah Wright for years. He potentially appointed a racist black liberationist Marxist to the USDA. Just how many of them does he have around him, as he sits in the WH waging war on capitalism? And, finally, what might all those college documents of his they won’t let us see tell us about him … especially given this?

Ultimately, given all this now beginning to come out as a result of Andrew Breitbart’s original work makes him a hero in my book. These are the tough questions the press doesn’t even want to ask. It
brings to the front important issues on race and racism, black, or otherwise, the press and the WH don’t wish to confront. But that’s what’s suppose to happen in a genuinely free, open and democratic society.

As things stand, an extremely controversialwoman is sitting there with a free ticket for a promotion at the USDA from an incompetent in the WH who created this mess by appointing her, then firing her too quickly for some reason. This isn’t Breitbart’s mess. This is now Obama’s mess to clean up,or justify, as far as I’m concerned. Heckuva job, Barry. Heckuva job. At least we’re starting to get used to it. I believe the word is: incompetent.

And, I wonder what would have happened in 2008 if John McCain would have allowed attack ads focusing on Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright?

Just sayin’……..
