Barbara Boxer,  Carly Fiorina

CA-Sen Poll Watch: Carly Fiorina 48% Vs Barbara Boxer 46%

Republican Nominee Carly Fiorina and California Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer

The poll is within the margin of error but is the third poll in a row that shows Fiorina leading.

The latest poll data in the senate race showed Fiorina with 48% support, compared to Boxer’s 46%.

This was the third CBS 5 tracking poll to show the senate contest within the margin of error, though, in all 3 cases, the Republican challenger Fiorina has been nominally ahead of incumbent Democrat Boxer.

The CBS 5 poll was conducted by SurveyUSA, which interviewed 569 likely California voters on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. The poll’s margin of error is ± 4.2%.

Democrat incumbent U.s. Senator Barbara Boxer continues to be in trouble. Look for her to go “on air” with negative television ads right after Labor Day.

the poll is off,the model their basing this on is from 08,2010 the model needs to reflect the intensity of the anti incumbant mood +4 ,my best guess is fiorina is up +5-6%

Apart from being within the margin of error, my guess is that these polls reflect voters not yet paying attention. Whatever anyone thinks of Boxer, you can’t get away from the fact that Fiorina slashed and off-shored thousands of jobs at HP specifically to enrich her millionaire friends, and then got fired anyway, and that her views on everything from reproductive rights to climate change are far out of sync with California voters.

On the other hand, in the eyes of her opponents, Boxer’s big crimes are that she supported stimulus spending that probably stopped our sliding into the Second Great Depression, and that in general she votes in favor of the America middle class instead of multinational corporations and the far-rich.

I was at HP for nearly 24 years and was there when Carly was fired. HP had a lot a good reasons for firing her. She was all marketing and no savvy. Her judgments were just plain poor. I can’t imagine a worse choice for senator.

P.S. A tune was played at one of the HP divisions the day she was fired. This tune was from the Wizard of Oz. Guess which tune…

(Hint: Ding Dong, the …. )

Yet, HP survived and has prospered.

What judgments were poor? Compaq merger?

And, Boxer has been a good Senator? Can you name one accomplishment in her three plus decades in public office?

Playing of the song is an urban legend and, if true, real mature would you say?

Carly could never understand the technical details of the operations at HP. This included servers, laptop R&D and manufacturing, Printers, All in One units, and a whole slew of services. All she could do was spout jargon and lay off HP people and yes, she merged Compaq into HP, at a huge expense of both stock value and employment. Compaq was a poorly performing company with quality control issues whose absorption into HP was way too costly. Compaq celebrated while HP faltered.

Carly felt the need to explain cost cutting to HP employees in ~2002-2003 and did so by renting the convention center in San Diego at great cost. She handed out little kazoos so that employees could cheer her when she spoke. She is a legend in her own mind, but not in the minds of the rest of us.

An election of Carly as senator for California would be a disaster!

Boxer has accomplished more in the past week than Carly has in her entire career. Take a look at Boxer’s website for a list of what she has done for our kids, police and jobs on September 30th alone!

How would election of Carly Fiorina be a disaster? Because you say so? Whereas other business people say she was a great success and HP is prospering today despite the latest problems with Mark Hurd.

And, you still do not speak about Senator Boxer. Look at her website, are you frakking kidding me. I have lived in California all of my life and I have seen first hand.

Talk about a disaster to California = Barbara Boxer.
