+++++Update+++++

Keith “I am a Moron” Olbermann cannot leave his assinine remarks about S. E. Cupp and Planned Parenthood alone.

Last Thursday, future Current TV host Keith Olbermann touched off some controversy when he tweeted, about conservative pundit S.E. Cupp, “On so many levels she’s a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does”

After several days of Twitter fighting, and online buttals and rebuttals, Olbermann has opted to make non-factual statements about his intent, rather than simply to apologize.

Here are the tweets:

Pot calling the kettle black without a doubt. Watch the video below and the original post and I think you will agree.

S.E. Cupp and Jerry Springer on the Joy Behar show

Keith Olbermann is always the master of class.

The leviathan of all things wise, former MSNBC host and Current TV’s chief news officer Keith Olbermann, tried to cover his tracks Thursday afternoon after implying on Twitter that he wished Planned Parenthood had prevented conservative pundit S.E. Cupp’s birth.

“On so many levels she’s a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does RT @meow_6 #worstpersons S.E Cupp bashing PP on Joy Behar last nite. http://j.mp/hktGUX,” Olbermann posted.

Upon receiving a number of negative reactions, Olbermann revisited his sentiment, bringing the current debate about the actual work of Planned Parenthood into the mix and an ad hominem attack at Arizona Republican Senator John Kyl for good measure.

“.@oakdogg I said no such thing. Only 3% of PP’s work is abortions. Unless you’re moron Jon Kyl,” he posted, referring to Kyl’s exaggeration that 90 percent of Planned Parenthood’s business was abortions.

The more he backed away, the more evident the tenor of his original posting – that he wished S.E. Cupp had never been born.

“@JonesNetIT I never mentioned abortion. I said her parents could have used counseling by PP rather than get the results they did,”Olbermann wrote, adding, ”@maggiefanelli no, I insinuated her parents would’ve helped the earth had they consulted PP for birth control.”

Here is the tweet that started the flap:

Well, Olbermann is a MORON and what do you really expect? He fits right in there with the equally moronic Al Gore at the Current television operation.

But, what equally shameful was the conduct of Jerry Springer (also a lefty, but an older one) who continued to make make faces and condescending remarks while S.E. Cupp was making her point (see the video above).

Shame on you too, Jerry.

There is a good summary of reviews of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged-Part 1 movie here.

P.J. O’ Rourke’s review for the Wall Street Journal is here.

Atlas shrugged. And so did I.

The movie version of Ayn Rand’s novel treats its source material with such formal, reverent ceremoniousness that the uninitiated will feel they’ve wandered without a guide into the midst of the elaborate and interminable rituals of some obscure exotic tribe.

Meanwhile, members of that tribe of “Atlas Shrugged” fans will be wondering why director Paul Johansson doesn’t knock it off with the incantations, sacraments and recitations of liturgy and cut to the human sacrifice.

Read it all……

san quesntin gas chamber Obama Administration Tries to Obstruct Lethal Injection Death Penalty

The old San Quentin Prison Gas Chamber

The Obama Administration’s Department of Justice under Attorney General is doing their best to foil death penalty verdicts.
President Obama well may have begun another undeclared war – this time on states that try to enforce their own death penalty laws – on the dubious grounds that the Food and Drug Administration has not approved drugs intended to kill convicted killers.

On March 15, the Drug Enforcement Administration seized Georgia’s supply of sodium thiopental, the first drug given under the three-drug lethal injection protocol used in most of the country’s 34 death-penalty states. The DEA also asked Kentucky and Tennessee for their sodium thiopental to aid its investigation. Why? The DEA referred me to the Department of Justice, which sent an e-mail declining to comment. News reports indicate that the feds had concerns that the drugs were imported improperly.

In the meantime, defense attorneys for convicted killers have been happy to chat with the press about what they call the illegal purchase of the drug. They never give up. First international death penalty opponents blocked foreign manufacture of lethal injection drugs. Then they put so much pressure on the industry that U.S. manufacturer Hospira stopped making it. As the supply dried up, states scrambled to get remaining doses and turned to a British wholesaler. That created another opening.

A lawsuit filed in a District of Columbia federal court charges that Georgia, California and other states have received shipments of “foreign thiopental” that was “misbranded” – and worse, not FDA approved. Attorney Bradford Berenson, who worked in the George W. Bush Justice Department, told me he’s not morally opposed to the death penalty. The goal of the suit was to force the FDA “to follow the law” and not allow “the importation of unapproved foreign drugs.”

Berenson warned that if thiopental is not administered properly, the middle drug in the protocol could cause excruciating pain. “Where this is clearly headed,” he said, “is changing the lethal injection protocols to no longer rely on this drug” – but instead try another anesthetic, maybe pentobarbital or propofol.

Problem: In response to the thiopental squeeze, Texas switched to pentobarbital. So: The ACLU tried to block the switch by arguing, among other things, that the lethal dose would not be administered by a health care professional. The next hitch: Medical associations bar doctors from participating in executions.

The fact is switching to other drugs will only lead to a circular argument method of obstructing enforcement of the death penalty. Then, there will be the physicians who will need to administer the drugs and the ethics involved with that.

So, just go back to the old gas chamber like the one above, which does not require a physician to administer the drugs or you could hang the convicted criminals.

Those methods are good enough and much more humane than these felons deserve anyway.

How long do you think it would take California to change the law with Jerry Brown as Governor and Kamala Harris as California Attorney General?

Kent Scheidegger, legal director of the conservative Criminal Justice Legal Foundation, thinks one way to impede stall-inducing litigation would be to reinstitute the gas chamber, but use nontoxic gas to replace oxygen. “It gets rid of this whole notion of a quasi-medical procedure,” he explained, when execution is in reality “a punishment” for horrific crimes.

Of course, first Sacramento would have to pass a law. Then there’d be administrative law reviews. Add another decade.

Don’t look for any California executions anytime soon.

GOP leaders listen to U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner talk about Senate Democrats and their failure to pass a long-term bill to cut spending and keep the U.S. government running while on Capitol Hill in Washington, March 29, 2011. From L-R are: House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Rep. Kristi Noem (SD) and Rep. David Dreier (CA)

A very likely casualty since his Congressional District demographics have changed a lot in the last decade.

Dreier got lucky 10 years ago, when a deal was cut to keep him safe for the next decade. After a decade’s worth of demographic changes, though, it will be tough to keep his district even slightly friendly to a Republican — even if the citizen line-drawers were looking out for Dreier (which they probably won’t be). His current district is now more than 50 percent black and Hispanic, it voted for Obama in 2008, and he lives just a few miles from fellow GOP Rep. Gary Miller (R). Smart California observers suggest Dreier may face a primary with either Miller or Rep. Jerry Lewis (R), either of which would probably be in unfriendly territory for Dreier.

And, in a GOP primary election, Dreier has never been a favorite of drive time KFI radio shock jocks John and Ken.

I don’t see Rep. Dreier surviving without a change in campaign strategy and relocation to another adjacent CD.
