The Republican candidates for President faced off at Dartmouth tonight

Mitt Romney remains the front-runner. He was poised and looked Presidential.

Herman Cain is movin’ on up, but no great moves tonight. Cain flubbed a few answers and his 9-9-9 plan was attacked.

Rick Perry is fading, stock is falling and was irrelevant tonight. If this was a make or break moment, put a fork in Perry – He’s done.

Michele Bachmann was good enough to move onto Iowa. But, she is second tier now. But, she may move ahead of Perry now.

Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman will hang on through Iowa and/or New Hampshire and be done.

Romney and Christie President 2012: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to Endorse Mitt Romney for President

On the eve of the New Hampshire GOP Presidential debate tonight and within the hour.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will make a surprise appearance Tuesday to endorse Mitt Romney for president, a week after Christie said he had decided not to run.

Christie is planning a joint press conference with the former Massachusetts governor at 3 p.m. in New Hampshire, NBC News has learned.

Christie announced last week that he would not be getting into the race for the Republican nomination, saying “now is not my time,” but gave no indication an endorsement was coming soon.

This should nail down the East Coast GOP delegates for Mitt Romney, along with the announcement today that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is out too.

Unless Rick Perry can execute a “Hail Mary” pass tonight during the debate, it looks like the GOP Presidential nominee will be Mitt Romney.

Now, will Chris Christie be the Vice Presidential running mate?

Heartland Dental Care has signed a consent order with the North Carolina Dental Board.

The Flap is about the illegal transfer of ownership of a dental practice, owned by a North Carolina dentist, Gary Cameron to Heartland Dental Care in violation of North Carolina law.

Here is the consent order.

Heartland Consent Order Granting Injunction 9-6-11

And, the two dentists (Dr. Gary Cameron and Dr.Peter Son) involved in the buy-sell transactions were disciplined by the North Carolina Dental Board.

Here is Dr. Gary Cameron’s Consent Order in lieu of an Administrative Hearing.

At issue is North Carolina law called the Management Arrangement Rule (MAR) which was enacted by the North Carolina Legislature to protect the health and welfare with respect to the practice of dentistry.

They enacted the MAR to effectuate the Legislature’s mandate in the Dental Practice Act that the ownership of dental practices by unlicensed corporations and entities is prohibited because of the concern that when corporations which are unlicensed to practice dentistry gain improper control over dental practices, patient care may become secondary to profits thereby creating an endangerment to the public.

Here is Dr. Cameron’s Consent Order.

Cameron Gary – CO Aug 11

Dr. Peter Son, Dr. Cameron’s Associate accepted an official reprimand from the North Carolina Dental Doard for his involvement with Heartland Dental Care.

Here is the reprimand.

Son Peter – Ltr of Reprimand Aug 11

So, what does this all mean?

Heartland Dental Care, a dental management corporation, attempted to purchase Dr. Gary Cameron’s dental practice in violation of North Carolina law. They tried a series of agreements and contracts to skirt the law which prohibited them from a controlling interest in owning a dental practice.

Heartland Dental Care was caught, signed a punitive consent order with a permanent injunction and paid a fine.

Both dentists were disciplined.

In North Carolina, a licensed dentist MUST own and control a dental practice, not an unlicensed, business entity.

And, dentists are on notice, that should they be tempted to engage in business practices of selling their offices/practices unlawfully, they will have their dental licenses at stake and will be disciplined.

American Crossroads: “Don’t”

The ads are running in the key battleground states of Pennsylvania and Florida.

From the press release:

American Crossroads today announced it is releasing a TV ad in Pennsylvania and Florida as part of a continuing campaign to aggressively counter President Obama’s efforts to sell his second stimulus plan at state and local events.

American Crossroads released its ad, “Don’t”, last night in the Pittsburgh and Orlando designated market areas, to provide a message to counter the president as he visits there on Tuesday. The ad, which features former President Bill Clinton decrying new tax increases in his own words, went up in Orlando and Pittsburgh on Monday night, and will run Monday night, all day Tuesday and Wednesday on local network stations and cable news. The $70k total buy is the second local bracketing effort by Crossroads in the paid media since Obama launched his campaign for his second round of stimulus.

Interesting how the President is traveling to key battleground states which he needs to win in the Electoral College to deliver his “JOBS” message. Maybe Obama should remain in Washington to convince Democrat members of the Senate to pass his legislative program.

In any case, Obama can campaign all he wants, but this plan is DEAD in the GOP controlled House. But, of course, Obama knew this before he proposed it – he simply wanted a foil upon which to run for re-election = a Do-Nothing Congress.
