President 2012: Pelosi Folds – No New Dirt on Gingrich

Former Speakers of the House Nancy Pelosi and Newt Gingrich

Pretty pathetic as California Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi backtracks.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s office on Wednesday said the minority leader doesn’t have any dirt on Newt Gingrich.

Pelosi has suggested in two interviews that she knows something that could prevent Gingrich from becoming president, but her office said the California Democrat doesn’t have any secrets about Gingrich, who has shot to the top of national Republican polls after winning the South Carolina primary.

“The ‘something’ Leader Pelosi knows is that Newt Gingrich will not be President of the United States. She made that clear last night,” Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said in a statement.

“Leader Pelosi previously made a reference to the extensive amount of information that is in the public record, including the comprehensive committee report with which the public may not be fully aware,” Hammill said.

Pelosi made headlines on Tuesday when she told CNN Gingrich would not be president, and that “there’s something I know.”

In an interview in December, Pelosi also drew attention by suggesting there was information that could come out of her office that could damage Gingrich. Pelosi suggested it was related to the House ethics investigation of Gingrich; Pelosi served on the panel looking into Gingrich.

“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,” Pelosi said at the time. “When the time is right. … I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

But on Wednesday, Hammill repeated that all of the information from the investigation is in the public realm.

You know darn well that if there was any additional dirt, Mitt Romney would be using it now in Florida.

Pelosi and the Democrats are just doing a little misdirection.

Updated: Oregon Rep. David Wu Will Not Run for Re-Election But Will Not Resign – Pelosi Calls for Ethics Investigation

    +++++ Update+++++

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called Sunday night for an ethics investigation into allegations that embattled Rep. David Wu (D-Ore.) forced an “unwanted sexual encounter” with a young woman.

Pelosi’s statement came shortly after Politico first reported that Wu would not seek an eighth term next year, which a Democratic source confirmed, adding that pressure is building for his resignation.

“With deep disappointment and sadness about this situation, I hope that the Ethics Committee will take up this matter,” Pelosi said. “I will send a letter to the Ethics Committee [Monday] asking them to formally initiate a review of this matter.” Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel (N.Y.) supported the Minority Leader’s request in a separate statement.

And, DCCC Chairman Rep Steven Israel is calling for Wu to resign.

But, again, what leverage does the leadership have?

Congressman David Wu of Oregon did some interesting things right before his re-election in last years midterm elections. He allegedly wandered around Oregon like an insane person, for one. Also, it appears he sent his staff e-mails like an insane person, along with photos of him dressing up like some kind of tiger furry

This has to be driving the Dems wild in D.C.

Embattled Rep. David Wu will not seek reelection in 2012, but he wont resign from office now despite allegations that the Oregon Democrat had an unwanted sexual encounter with the teenage daughter of a close friend last Thanksgiving. He isnt going to be running for reelection, a Wu adviser, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told POLITICO late Sunday night. But he hasnt done anything that rises to the level of requiring him to resign.

Wus decision to stay in office comes after a frenzied weekend of lobbying and pressure tactics designed to convince the Oregon Democrat to leave office, all of which seemed to have failed for now. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is likely to step up the pressure on Wu following this latest development.

Pelosi and other top Democrats are reviewing their options on Wu, which include outright calls for him to resign or to seek an Ethics Committee investigation into the explosive allegations against him.

First it was New York Rep. Anthony Weiner and the continuing story of the strange behavior of Rep. David Wu.Not a good summer for Congressional Democrats and Nancy Pelosi.

By the way, Wu should be assigned to a closet until he resigns.

Weinergate: Rep Nancy Pelosi Calls for Ethics Inquiry Over Weiner Tweet Scandal

Former Democratic Speaker and now House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi with rep. Anthony Weiner and former Democratic N.Y. Governor Eliot Spitzer who resigned after a scandal involving prostitutes

Who will be the first Dem to throw Weiner under the bus?

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Steve Israel, the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, are calling for an investigation into Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) over the series of sexually explicit conservations and lewd photos he exchanged with a half-dozen women during the last several years.

“I am deeply disappointed and saddened about this situation; for Anthony’s wife, Huma, his family, his staff and his constituents,” Pelosi said in a statement released on Monday night.

“I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred.”

Israel added: “Congressman Anthony Weiner engaged in a deep personal failure and inappropriate behavior that embarrassed himself, his family, and the House. Ultimately, Anthony and his constituents will make a judgment about his future .

“To remove all remaining doubt about this situation, I agree with Leader Pelosi’s request that the House Ethics Committee use its authority to begin an investigation.”

It won’t be long before Weiner is shown the door by his fellow Dems. If not, the liability he will have for the Democrats going into an election year will sink many ships. Can you imagine the Congressional television ads?

Video: Powershift 2011 – How The Obama Administration and Democratic Leaders Encourage Environmental Radicals

    Good Grief.

I remember when Earth Day started when I was in college. Look at how it has grown into an environmental socialist anti-capitalist revolution.

Let’s see, Obama EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, former White House Green Jobs Advisor Van Jones, Al Gore and the green jobs industry, what could go wrong?

Oh yeah – Where are the jobs?

Ohio Democrat Rep. Dennis Kucinich Sues U.S. House Cafeteria for Olive Pit in Sandwich

    Ohio Democrat Congressman Dennis Kucinich

$150K for dental work – for an olive pit?

Rep. Dennis Kucinich has sued a U.S. House of Representatives cafeteria for selling him a sandwich wrap that caused dental damage when he bit into a pitted olive, according to a Jan. 3 lawsuit filed in Superior Court for the District of Columbia.

The Cleveland Democratic congressman’s lawsuit seeks $150,000 in damages from companies that operate the Longworth House Office Building’s cafeteria.

It says he bought the suspicious sandwich wrap “on or about April 17, 2008,” and eating it caused “permanent dental and oral injuries requiring multiple surgical and dental procedures.”

“Said sandwich wrap was unwholesome and unfit for human consumption in that it was presented to contain pitted olives, yet unknown to plaintiff, contained an unpitted olive or olives which plaintiff did not reasonably expect to be in the food prepared for him, and could not visually detect prior to consumption,” the lawsuit said.

I cannot fathom any dental work that would have to be completed that would cost so much for an olive pit trauma. Maybe an auto accident, but not one or two teeth broken from biting an olive pit. Oh wait, the attorney wants to be paid too and since it is the government, why not?

Between this idiot and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Air Force flight expenditures is there any wonder why American voters threw the Democrats out of power in the House?

Top Conservatives on Twitter #TCOT Makes it to GOP House Speakers Twitter

Boehner, congressional leaders change Twitter titles in Web change-of-power

In twin moves reflecting their new roles in the next Congress, Reps. John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) modified their official handles on Twitter.

Pelosi, the outgoing Speaker of the House, modified her Twitter name to drop her title, changing from “SpeakerPelosi” to “NancyPelosi.”

Boehner, meanwhile, transformed from “GOPLeader” to “SpeakerBoehner,” reflecting his assumption of the top spot in the House on Wednesday.

Pelosi’s account sought to downplay the downgrade, seeming to joke that followers should “rejoice” that her Tweets would be easier to retweet or copy to one’s own account – now that her handle was two characters
    shorter.

    Her new account tweeted:

    I’m now @NancyPelosi – 2 characters shorter than @SpeakerPelosi. RTers rejoice!

Boehner’s communications director, Kevin Smith, noted the change on his account, adding a “tcot” tag meant to flag the tweet for other conservatives on Twitter:

Check it out … @GOPLeader Boehner is now @SpeakerBoehner #tcot

The change in Twitter names is essentially a small one, though they serve as one 21st century signal of the change in power in the House.

If voters only knew what impact Twitter and #TCOT has had on organizing the RIGHT. The #TCOT newly designed website is here.

I am positive there will be a book.

Pelosi, Obama Hawaiian Vacations Come to an End, But Taxpayers Left with the Bill

Escorted throughout her trip by a mini security motorcade that included Secret Service and Hawaii County Police officers, Pelosi was seen at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona, where she received Communion. Parishioners greeted her warmly, Hawaii Reporter was told. Two police SUVs were on guard outside the hotel during her week long stay.

Pelosi, who traveled to Hawaii by private plane, spent the holidays in Kona last year at the same hotel in an elaborate suite that reportedly rents for $10,000 a night.

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai’s details its luxurious setting and amenities on its web site: “Gloriously revitalised, this natural tropical paradise offers more than ever to explore – with a newly expanded Spa, beachfront dining, fashion boutiques and new Deluxe Suites, in addition to Jack Nicklaus signature golf. Set on the Big Island’s exclusive Kona-Kohala Coast, this showpiece resort captures the essence of Hawaiian design, culture and tradition.”"

    And, look at Obama’s expenses:

In a Hawaii Reporter story published last week, some of the cost estimates included:

        * Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii via Air Force One: $1 million (GAO estimates)
        * Mrs. Obama’s early flight to Hawaii: $63,000 (White House Dossier)
        * Housing in beachfront homes for Secret Service and Seals in Kailua ($1,200 a day for 14 days): $16,800
        * Costs for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel: $134,400 ($400 per day for 24 staff) – excluding meals and other room costs
        * Local police overtime: $250,000 (2009 costs reported by Honolulu Police Department)
        * Ambulance: $10,000 (City Spokesperson)
        * TOTAL COST: $1,474,200

    UNKNOWN COSTS

        * Rental of office building in Kailua on canal
        * Security upgrades and additional phone lines to private homes where Obama and friends are staying
        * Costs for car rentals and fuel for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel
        * Surveillance before the President arrives
        * Travel costs for Secret Service and White House staff traveling ahead of the President

Good grief – But typical …..One of the reasons the Democrats, including Pelosi were demoted last November.

Day By Day November 17, 2010 – Cinderella

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Chris, somehow I think that Sam will be drinking even more with Zed going to Afghanistan.

And, talk about fairy tales, look at Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her attempt to hold onto political power.

The Democratic old guard will try to hold the line Wednesday against a rank-and-file rebellion intent on winning some concession — no matter how small — from a leadership team seeking reelection despite having presided over the loss of at least 60 Democratic seats earlier this month.

The leadership election follows on the heels of a brutally long, contentious and divisive leadership meeting Tuesday, and it will determine not only whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi remains the head of the House Democratic contingent but just how much authority she will wield in the new Congress come January.

Symbolism without substance will equal the continued morass for the Democrats with Nancy Pelosi in a leasdership position. She will have NO real power and younger Democrats will be stifled to change the perception of the party.

It is all good for conservatives and the GOP.
