Rapper Snoop Dogg reads the works of Stanley Tookie Williams to school students as part of “a day of action” to demonstrate against the pending execution of Williams.
The ASSociated Press has Stars rally around Stanley Tookie Williams
A cell-phone call from convicted killer-turned-gang peace activist Stanley Tookie Williams interrupted a Los Angeles rally on his behalf attended by actor Jamie Foxx, rapper Snoop Dogg and dozens of students.
“Stan, it’s Jamie! How are you, my brother?†Foxx, who once portrayed the death-row inmate, said into the receiver. He then held the phone to a microphone so Williams, scheduled to die by lethal injection Dec. 13, could address the crowd.
“I’d like to thank all you youngsters,†Williams said. “I am honored, truly honored, and regardless of what happens to me, whether I am alive or executed, I know you all will remember me.â€
How about remembering your four murdered victims, Tookie:
Albert Owens
Yen-I Yang
Tsai-Shai Chen Yang
Yu-Chin Yang Lin
Foxx gave the phone back and turned to the crowd.
“If that don’t move you, I don’t know what it takes,†the Oscar-winning actor said. The event at the downtown library was one of several held around the state Wednesday to urge Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to spare Williams. The co-founder of the Crips street gang was convicted of murdering four people in 1979.
Foxx, Flap knows what MOVES him.
Justice for the victims of Tookie’s violence!

I agree with some of teh comments that have been made against clemency for Stanley Tookie Williams. He committed a crime, and the system is about justice not saving lives. Condemned prisoners that are sentenced to life are put away so they can’t harm others, but if he was sentenced to death then he should by all means walk the plank.
Can a good book justify the murders? Not just the four murders, but all the black on black crime that has happened due to this gang? Justice should be served, what will we do with all the pro-verbal prisoners who will want to be pardoned due to being able to write a good book? Nobel prize? Why don’t we just set all these murderers free?
If Stanley wants to make an impact and change he should accept his sentence and do it graciously, show the teens and people out there what gangs and drugs lead to…death upon death, upon death. Not Nobel Prizes.

Do not pervert the law. This convicted man deserves the needle. Let him go to hell on the day the courts ordered. Hopefully more animals will follow him.

I TRULY BELIEVE BRO. TOOKIE WILL DO MORE GOOD TO SOCIETY AND OUR TROUBLED YOUTH ALIVE. YES HE SHOULD PAY FOR HIS CRIMES AND HE CAN DO THAT BEHIND BARS FOR THE REST OF HIS NATURAL LIFE….BUT HE HAS SOO MUCH TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE WORLD.

i don’t think that he should be treated any different than anyone else. just because he wrote a couple of books doesn’t make him better than anyone. when you are in prison, you don’t have any choice but to change your lifestyle, you can’t do shit else. I don’t feel bad for him at all,if anything i’m angry because he is the one responsible for all of our brothers getting into that “gang” foolishness in the first place.

And once Tookie is dead, these people will be able to rise from their graves and rejoin their loving families. This is a day for rejoicing.

The only thing I find wrong about executing “Tookie” is that it has thaken 25 years to do it. That’s California for you. Hell, Manson never got what he deserved, this is a step in the right direction. Ashley is right, in prison it is hard to not change for the better, especially when you are out of the general population as he is. If they executed these murderous SOB’s in a timely fashion maybey that would make them think twice. Maybe not but it would be one less to be a jail-house hero. Parrot, you interest me

I would like to see our public at large remember the victims on the fateful day of Tookie Williams. The victims are unable to speak, but boy if they could, I’d bet they would say, “Tookie, it is not alot of fun to have someone shorten your life. You’ll soon see.”
However, this is only if the state upholds its end to actually carry out the corporal punishment that the voters have elected in. Tookie had no problem holding up his end of the bargain. If he has really sought out the Lord during his lockup, he, too, would not be scared to carry the cross that he so much deserves.

No creo que fuera inocente, pero la JUSTICIA no es cometer con él el delito del que se le acusa

I read that Tookie’s son is currently in prison for 2nd-degree murder, and in solitary confinement.
Supposedly, he will be told of his fathers’ execution by a chaplain and a mental health specialist.
The apple does not fall far from the tree.
When I find the link, I will post it here.

A vile man. Vile crimes. No excuses.
Nevertheless, I still feel that the death penalty is barbaric, and utterly unacceptable in a truly civilised society.
We need to look hard at our societies, to find the reasons (not PC excuses) for the endemic culture of criminality, especially among African-Americans, and to do our very best to prevent the crimes before they happen.
