Reuters: Lawyer given 28 months for aiding terrorism
A New York attorney convicted of aiding terrorism by helping a client smuggle messages to militant followers was sentenced to 28 months in prison on Monday, CNN reported.
Lynne Stewart, 67, was convicted in February 2005 of helping her imprisoned client, Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, to contact the Islamic Group — listed by the U.S. government as a terrorist organization — with messages prosecutors said could have ignited violence in Egypt.
She is the only U.S. lawyer to be indicted on terrorism charges.
You have to be kidding, Flap.
This scumbag should have been charged with Treason and summarily executed. The United States Department of Justice should have made an example of her.
Wonder if she was permanently disbarred?
Probably NOT
Flap hopes she rots in Leavenworth or wherever.
Michelle Malkin has Lynne Stewart: Lawyer for jihad update: slap on the wrist
Captain Ed and John at Stop the ACLU have more.
Even though Stewart has medical disabilities that may prevent hard labor. How about latreen duty for this POS.
And the federal judge?
Pathetic……….

What is it that the gd lefties are so gd PROUD of??!!
I saw this same display of assholiness during the Contra hearings, for example, and all the while I cannot understand what they think they are protecting. Yes, yes, the Bill of Rights. Now I see: We must destroy the fabric of our legal and legislative systems, and undermine all that is inuitively correct and appropriate in order to SAVE it, you see. That’s why the raised fist of defiance and protest. The “Speaking Truth To Power” stance. The “Progressive Amerika” attitude. The right to freely congress with enemies is protected, you see, because the people who want to cut your throats deserve protection from overreaching military and legislative actions.
Oh. That makes LOTS of sense.
In the old days she would have been shot. Like Matti Hari.
What did she do, or what does she stand for, that deserves such happiness and celebration? Somebody help me understand. I dare you.
