Giuliani Notes: Rudy Speaking at CPAC

giulianifeb26nweb

The Mayor began speaking around noon EST to a filled to capacity ballroom at CPAC.

Unfortunately, during the speech, C-Span lost the feed or had other technical difficulties and has now switched to another program.

Pretty lame.

Flap will have the video and comment on the speech later Friday.

Update:

C-Span has resumed the speech after a 7-8 minute interruption.

Update #2

Flap has heard most of Rudy’s stump speech before. But, in this speech he invoked the images of Ronald Reagan to invoke maximum pathos for the former President.

Rudy ended the speech with Reagan’s: “Peace Through Strength” adage.

He contrasted how America would be different as it was during the Bill Clinton presidency and stressed an optimistic vision of America as a “Shining City upon a Hill.”

Flap will have the video when it is available.

Update #3

Dave G was live blogging the speech.

As Flap said before this was a variation of Rudy’s stump speech. It was nothing too special but he did NOT pander to the CPAC crowd.

It was sincere and it was Rudy.

Update #4

Michelle Malkin has the quotes and more.

And Lorie Bird at Wizbang has some negative crapola.
