Mayor Rudy Giuliani continues his commanding double digit lead in the latest Washington Post – ABC News National GOP Presidential Poll.

The GOP NUTS:

Let’s look at the state of the race:

  • Rudy leads in fundraising and cash on hand
  • Rudy leads and has led most if not all national GOP polls for months
  • Rudy has been actively campaigning in most early primary and February 5 Super Tuesday states, including California.
  • Rudy leads in most(spelled majority) state primary polls without ANY advertising.
  • John McCain is broke and scaled back his campaign to three early primary states.
  • John McCain fired his campaign staff and is reorganizing his campaign – he vows he will not quit.  However, Newt gingrich predicts he will quit the race after he receives his federal election matching funds.
  • Fred Thompson has not even announced his candidacy and fired his campaign manager today because of a fight with his wife.
  • Fred Thompson will have ONLY three months to fundraise and campaign before the first primary elections.
  • Mitt Romney fails to poll in double digits nationally and trails badly in Super Tuesday state polls – often polling in single digits.
  • Mitt Romney barely leads Rudy in New Hampshire polls where he has been on television for many weeks.

Rudy is the inevitable GOP Presidential nominee.

End of story.

So many people have asked me what I look for in a president. From a different perspective, what do you look for in a spouse? Is it enough to find someone who can talk smoothly that you have no past history to draw from? (I know that in the hormonal heat of the moment, plenty of people might pop down to Vegas for some rushed nuptials but most people see the lack of wisdom in such a course). It amazes me how many of us would be tempted to marry our country to anyone (proven or not) who can say whatever the electorate wants to hear (in the most ardent of spirits of course) We might as well get engaged to the first stranger we “meet” in a chat room…

I rather think it should be someone whose past track record is proven (as close as I could get to referencing courting), whose motives are honorable and whose judgment is sound. It should be someone we could actually like.( I didn’t know if I should take it to the extreme of the metaphor with that L-O-V-E word)

    This song
    Eric Proffitt
might capture part of what I’m trying to say.(if you haven’t heard it, pass it along, if you have heard it, why not listen again…and pass it on too!)

So…Who do you think we should get hitched to???

‘…my vote is on…the man of integrity
