News Item: Paul raises more than $3.5M in one day

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, aided by an extraordinary outpouring of Internet support Monday, hauled in more than $3.5 million in 20 hours.

Paul’s total deposed Mitt Romney as the single-day fundraising record holder in the Republican presidential field. When it comes to sums amassed in one day, Paul now ranks only behind Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton, who raised nearly $6.2 million on June 30, and Barack Obama.

But, money doesn’t buy you LOVE or an election – ask Barack Obama.

Why the outpouring of support for Paul?

  • A protest vote?
  • Frustration and/or opposition to the Iraq War?
  • A Vendetta Against the MAN?
  • Return to the Gold Standard?
  • Hatred of the Federal Reserve and the United Nations?

Whatever it is, the Ronulans got off their keyboards and opened their wallets/debit-credit cards.

Well done and Presidential fundraising may NEVER be the same.

Thanks for the good words. I know you think we’re all a bunch of wackos or something, and while there ARE some wackos supporting Ron Paul, most of us are just normal, everyday people. I’m just a housewife, a stay-at-home Mom, who’s worried to death about the future of my children. There are many more just like me. Thanks again for the fair reporting and kind words.

thanks for the positive comments on Paul. The other day when the news broke about the botnet email scam – Fox News was the only major news network that I saw reported on it. So far tonight Fox News is the ONLY major news network not to report on this fundraising. They’ll probably run it at the bottom on their ticker.

More than $4 Million! And I read that the site could not handle all of the credit card transactions coming in, so the real total will probably not be known until tomorrow!
