Mike Huckabee Watch: Huckabee Leads Florida in Latest Rasmussen Poll
Republican presidential hopeful and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee takes part in the Des Moines Register Republican Presidential Debate in Johnston, Iowa, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007.
In a stunning reversal in the Florida GOP race, Mike Huckabee has taken the lead in the latest Rasmussen poll. For months Rudy Giuliani has owned Florida as his “firewall” against early state losses.
- Mike Huckabee – 27% (9%, 11-18)
- Mitt Romney – 23% (19%)
- Rudy Giuliani – 19% (27%)
- Fred Thompson -9% (16%)
- John McCain – 6% (10)
- Ron Paul – 4% (5%)
The Huckaboom has hit Florida and if this poll is not an OUTLIER then Mayor Giuliani may need a Plan B. Some pundits have already seen the shift to an early New Hampshire push for Rudy.
The GOP race is very fluid and jumbled. And, as Flap has siad before it will come down to a last minute media war in Florida. Rudy will be delivering a speech in Tampa tomorrow. And, voting in Florida has begun with absentee ballots.
However, with the Huckaboom what may happen is a muddled race with NO clear leader going into the March and later primaries.
In fact, Flap does not see Rudy, Romney or Huckabee withdrawing before the September convention. Will such a “BROKERED” convention be tolerated by the GOP national party?
Probably not. The party will ask two of the three to step aside in a deal.
Flap thinks two of those three candidates will be on the ticket – with Huckabee being left off. But, we will see.
Stay tuned…..

Interesting that Romney has brought out the negative things about Huck.
Negativity does sell.
I have a question —
I just went to Mike’s website and at this time he has collected $1,116,249 in donations.
Currently at Ron Paul’s site he has collected in real time $11,493,478 and what about the next BOMB tomorrow.
My question is how is Mike going to keep going with so little money?
Flap
Money doesn’t necessarily buy you love (votes). Ask Ron Paul who is mired in single digits in almost all polls national and statewide.
If Huckabee wins Iowa and South Carolina, there will be donors opening up their wallets.
