John McCain Watch: The Climate Change Tour

Senator McCain is NOT giving conservatives much solace on domestic policy, now is he?

“John McCain is going to be doing more of these themed tours of America, and one of them is going to be on energy and global climate change. It could get him into trouble with Republicans, of course, and with the base, who don’t think there is much climate change going on, but it is something that he’s very passionate about and he’s going to be talking about it.”

McCain better listen to Newt Gingrich and devise a coherent GOP strategy rather than themed tours that will turn-off most of his GOP base.

I have more problems with McCain and his positions against drilling for oil in the Continental United States.

As an aside, I listened to Hugh Hewitt for about 20 minutes today after boycotting his show for the last 6 months because of his love fest over Romney. What did I hear today: Hewitt suggesting that Romney should be McCain’s VP pick. Katherine Jean Lopez of National Review is also lobbying for Romney for the McCain ticket.

If Romney is on the ticket, McCain loses.

Gad, I am glad I did not listen to Hugh’s show today. Unless McCain develops an agenda ala Newt Gingrich he will lose.

For all of Rudy’s shortcomings at least he had a program for change and reform.

Romney will continue to be a disaster for the GOP until he retires back to the business world. He will never win another public office.
