A Purdue University graduate student was convicted of threatening to kill President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and others in postings on the Internet.

Vikram Buddhi, 35, an Indian national who was attending advanced engineering classes at Purdue’s West Lafayette campus, was found guilty by a federal jury yesterday on 11 counts of making threats that were posted in a chat room in 2005 and 2006.

Buddhi faces up to 35 years in prison when he is sentenced later this year.

All bark and thankfully no bite from this NUT.

Wonder if Homeland Security will deport him after he serves his sentence?

Gallegly: Where’s the Outcry Over the 21,000 Other Early Releases?

Congressman Elton Gallegly (R-CA24) on Friday said Paris Hilton’s premature release from jail is not the anomaly it is made out to be. Even if she had not been ordered back to jail, after just three days in jail Hilton actually would have served more time in Los Angeles County jail than thousands who have committed far more egregious crimes.

“Paris Hilton should serve her entire sentence, as should anyone who flouts our laws. She repeatedly violated her probation and was given a lenient 23 days after originally being sentenced to 46. If she wants to avoid jail in the future, she should grow up and become a responsible citizen – after paying her debt to society,” Gallegly said.

“But Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo is being disingenuous to complain that Sheriff Lee Baca has broken the law by releasing Hilton without bringing the matter back before a judge. Baca releases more than 21,000 people every year without serving their sentences – thousands of whom are booked and released the same day – and Delgadillo hasn’t complained about any of them. Hilton wasn’t getting preferential treatment; this is status quo in Los Angeles County, and Delgadillo knows it.”

Rather than being released for having a rash, or losing their appetite, the others are let go because of jail overcrowding. And why are the jails overcrowded? Baca appeared before the House Judiciary Committee last August, where Gallegly is a senior member, and clearly stated the problem. Forty percent of Los Angeles County inmates, Baca testified, are illegal immigrants. Take away the illegal immigrant population and overcrowding ceases to be an issue. (Emphasis Flap’s)

Gallegly is absolutely RIGHT.

Illegal immigration is so acutely impacting Los Angeles County jails that very few convicted offenders serve even one half of their sentence. Flap cites the case of former LOST star Michelle Rodriguez who served less than five hours in a Los Angeles County jail for a DUI probation violation last year.

And what about LAPD’s special order 40? And Los Angeles being a “sanctuary city?” Of course, this is BULL.
Paris Hilton should serve her time but then again so should the other LA County convicted offenders.

The illegal aliens should be DEPORTED and the border secured so they cannot return to the United States.

Incoming Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will miss the state funeral for former President Gerald Ford at the Capitol Rotunda on Saturday night, opting instead to lead a delegation to South America with an expected stop at the Machu Picchu Inca ruins.

Reid, D-Nev., left Wednesday afternoon from Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland with a bipartisan group of five other senators, including Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., the incoming assistant majority leader, for what has been described as a weeklong visit to Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru.

The highlight of the trip is said to be separate meetings with the presidents of the three nations, with the last one scheduled in Peru on Tuesday morning.

“They would be difficult to cancel,” Reid spokesman Jim Manley said via mobile phone as the congressional delegation took off in a U.S. military plane.

This is BULL and a JUNKET.

And shows extreme disrespect to the Ford family, the United States Senate and the American Presidency.

Other senators making the trip are Kent Conrad, D-N.D., Judd Gregg, R-N.H., Robert Bennett, R-Utah, and Ken Salazar, D-Colo.

Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow insisted on Monday that contrary to a recent article in a European newspaper, she feels “proud to be American” and would never compare her homeland unfavorably to Britain.

In a statement issued through People magazine’s Web site, Paltrow said she was “deeply upset” by remarks attributed to her by the Portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticias, which quoted the actress as saying: “The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans.”

“I never, ever would have said that,” said Paltrow, 34, who is married to British rock star
Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, and resides part time with him and their two children in London.

Well, what did Gwyeth say and when did she say it? Did the Portugese press make up the quotes?

Here is what she said in Britain January 27th of this year:

“I love the English way, which is not as capitalistic as it is in America. People don’t talk about work and money; they talk about interesting things at dinner parties. I like living here because I don’t tap into the bad side of American psychology, which is ‘I’m not achieving enough, I’m not making enough, I’m not at the top of the pile.’ It’s just kind of like, I am.”

And what Gwyneth said to the Canadian press September 14, 2005:

“…I feel like we’re really in trouble. I just had a baby and thought, ‘I don’t want to live there.’(in the United States). “Bush’s anti-environment, pro-war policies are a dis. . . .”.

So, it is OK to be against President Bush (she supported John Kerry in 2004) and then let it slip (when no one but foreign press are watching) that you dislike America(ns) or does Gwyneth fear a Dixie Chick moment?

Flap thinks she will desperately try to avoid the Natalie Maines treatment.

But, I don’t think we have heard the end of this story.

“I feel so lucky to be American,” she said. “I feel so proud to be American.”

Paltrow denies giving an interview to the Portuguese daily, though she did speak at a news conference in Spanish, according to People.

“This is what I said,” Paltrow explained. “I said that Europe is a much older culture, and there’s a difference. I always say in America, people live to work, and in Europe, people work to live. There are positives in both.”

She added: “Obviously, I need to go back to seventh-grade Spanish.”

Face saving or Career saving speech?

Perhaps Gwyneth should SHUT UP and ACT.

Oscar-winning US actress Gwyneth Paltrow feels dinner talk is far more interesting in her adopted homeland Britain than back in her native country.

“I love the English lifestyle, it’s not as capitalistic as America. People don’t talk about work and money, they talk about interesting things at dinner,” she told “NS,” the weekend magazine supplement of daily Portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticias on Saturday.

“I like living here because I don’t fit into the bad side of American psychology. The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans,” the 34-year-old added.

Paltrow, who won a best actress Oscar for 1998′s “Shakespeare in Love,” lives in London with British band Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin whom she wed in 2003.

Flap really wants to listen to a California high school graduate who got her start in the movie business because of her parents and a pretty face. She is sooooo intellectual.

According to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission, Gwyneth Paltrow contributed $1,500 to John Kerry‘s campaign for President in 2004, and also contributed $2,000 to EMILY’s List and $2,500 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. The FEC documents also list her home address as being in New York City, though the actress lives in London.

By the way, this is NOT the first time that Gwyneth and her mom have trashed America.
