Real Time with Bill Maher

I am glad I vote in California and not in Delaware.

This video is embarrassing despite what the apologists say or will say. Her comments on masturbation likewise.

Now, I would not have voted for Republican Representative Mike Castle either but Christine O’Donnell is not a serious candidate for the U.S. Senate.

Delaware’s Mike Castle

Fred Barnes has it ONLY partly right.

But the real reason (despite Christine O’Donnell’s obvious flaws) is that Mike Caste runs as a Republican and votes like a Democrat. He was too damn LEFT for Delaware Republicans who are tired of the BS spin and want their POLS to vote as they warrant – not as they promise with Washington based campaigns run by Karl Rove, et. al..

Oh My!
She called into Sean Hannity’s radio show to make official what was hinted at in a late Tuesday night retweet: She backs Christine O’Donnell over Mike Castle in Delaware.

This GOP primary is NOT going to go well.

Republican Congressman Mike Castle will be running for the United States Senate in Delaware.
Rep. Mike Castle (R), a fixture of Delaware politics and a prominent centrist in the House, will announce Tuesday that he is running for an open Senate seat in 2010 — a victory for Republican strategists in a Democratic-leaning state where Castle has been politically dominant.

Looks like a full court press by the National Republican Senatorial Committee to challenge the Democrats’ super-majority in the United States Senate. This seat was previously occupied by Vice President Joe Biden and Castle’s likely Democrat opponent is Biden’s son, Beau.

More on the race from Jim Geraghty.

Update:

NRSC Chairman Cornyn’s Statement On Rep. Mike Castle’s Senate Candidacy

Today, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), issued the following statement in response to U.S. Representative Mike Castle (R-DE) officially announcing his bid for the U.S. Senate:

“Mike Castle’s announcement today instantly transforms Delaware into one of the most competitive Senate races in the country in 2010. As an independent and experienced statesman who has earned the respect of Republicans and Democrats alike, Congressman Castle has a proven record of representing the people of Delaware in a bipartisan fashion, and we are thrilled that he has decided to take this next step toward extending his career of public service in the United States Senate. The NRSC will ensure that Mike Castle has all the necessary resources to win this seat next November.”

Another possible U.S. Senate GOP pick-up in the Northeast. Say what?
Even though Democrats Barack Obama and Jack Markell easily won in Delaware last November, there still is a Republican to be reckoned with.

According to a poll released Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Mike Castle has more support today than Attorney General Beau Biden, should the two run in 2010 for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Beau’s father, Joe, just before he was sworn in as vice president.

The survey, conducted by North Carolina-based Public Policy Polling, of 782 Delawareans found 44 percent support Castle while 36 percent favor the younger Biden. The poll found 20 percent undecided.

Beau Biden was elected in 2006 as attorney general and is serving in the Delaware National Guard in Iraq on a one-year deployment. He has not announced any run for another office.

Castle, now in his ninth term, said he’s not declaring any run for office — Senate or re-election — just yet.

Maybe Delaware is suffering from too much Biden? Or, just do not want a family Senate dynasty like the Dodds in Connecticut

This is obviously surprising news and should be a shocker to the Biden Delaware campaign cabal and the Vice President.
