Recall, the GOP Presidential candidates and their families are always asked these questions to see if they are out of touch with the common folk.

With Michelle Obama it is all do what I say not do what I do. But, 1700 calories in one meal?

First lady Michelle Obama ordered a whopper of a meal at the newly opened Washington diner Shake Shack during lunch on Monday.

A Washington Post journalist on the scene confirmed the first lady, who’s made a cause out of child nutrition, ordered a ShackBurger, fries, chocolate shake and a Diet Coke while the street and sidewalk in front of the usually-packed Shake Shack were closed by security during her visit.

According to nutritional information on Shake Shack’s Web site, the meal amounted to 1,700 calories.

Obama, who launched the “Let’s Move” campaign to combat childhood obesity last year, has previously admitted to having an “obsession with french fries,” which she says are fine to indulge in occasionally. “It’s all about moderation,” Obama told reporters.

And, what kind of moderation is that?

When the Nanny State starts to take over the hypocrisy rises to the top.

The sad part, Chris, is that Americans ARE focused on Michelle Obama AT ALL – you know with Egypt blowing up with riots, the government turning off their internet access and cracking down militarily with its people. In the meantime, Michelle’s husband, the President of the United States is talking about WTF moments = Winning The Future.

The President has been doing better in the polls for now but I think it may very well be short lived.

Looks to me that Fiorina is surging or closing the gap with about 13 days to go before the election.

Is there any wonder why President Obama is campaigning for Senator Barbara Boxer at USC on Friday afternoon and why his wife, Michelle is also doing events for her?

All in to say the least, look at the events and they are not cheap either.

I suppose California is so “blue,” Obama remains popular here (unlike other areas of the country) and there is so much Hollywood money floating around. Or, is it that the White House is worried that they will lose control of the Senate if the Boxer seat flips to Carly Fiorina?

Carly Fioirna just announced she raised about $9 million this quarter and with recent NRSC funding announcements, it looks like she will remain strong “on air” through the rest of the campaign.

The Obamas are all in for Boxer, milking the California money tree for her and their own re-election campaign in two years.
