Democratic presidential hopeful, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, right, speaks during the Brown & Black Forum as fellow hopeful, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., looks on, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in Des Moines, Iowa. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, the nation’s only Hispanic governor, is endorsing Sen. Barack Obama for president, calling him a ‘once-in-a- lifetime leader’ who can unite the nation and restore America’s international leadership. Richardson, who dropped out of the Democratic race in January, is to appear with Obama on Friday March 21, 2008 at a campaign event in Portland, Ore.

Interesting timing in this endorsement – being that Richardson NOW endorses Obama after primaries where Richardson ACTUALLY might have made a difference (such as California, New Mexico and Texas), where there are large Hispanic populations).

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, the nation’s only Hispanic governor, is endorsing Sen. Barack Obama for president, calling him a “once-in-a-lifetime leader” who can unite the nation and restore America’s international leadership.

The governor’s endorsement comes as Obama leads among delegates selected at primaries and caucuses but with national public opinion polling showing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton pulling ahead of him amid controversy over statements by his former pastor.

Richardson has been relentlessly wooed by Obama and Clinton for his endorsement. As a Democratic superdelegate, the governor plays a part in the tight race for nominating votes and could bring other superdelegates to Obama’s side. He also has been mentioned as a potential running mate for either candidate.

Flap knows that Richardson CAN count delegates and is playing one Clinton against the other Obama. Hillary has done well with Latino populations without Richardson’s endorsement so Hillary does not need him. And Bill sees her campaigning in Indiana with Senator Evan Bayh, who would probably be the Middle America ticket balancing Vice President Hillary needs.

So, why not endorse an “apparent” winner?

But, Flap does not think Bubba will be watching the Super Bowl with Richardson again anytime soon:

Now, will other Clinton Administration appointees realize that Hillary CANNOT win? And, like rats leave a sinking ship?

Probably

Will Hillary continue to fight the inevitable?

In the meantime, John McCain continues his surge in national Presidential tracking polls.

No VP for Richardson on the Clinton ticket.  But, Obama?

Guess Richardson figured out that Evan Byah of Indiana had it locked up. Richardson will run for US Senate in New Mexico.

Democratic presidential hopeful New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson speaks to college Democrats, Friday, March 2, 2007, at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Richardson Rising

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is viewed by Democratic insiders as rising to the top of the party’s second-tier presidential candidates, becoming a leading vice-presidential prospect and an increasingly possible nominee for president.

Richardson’s past service as a member of Congress, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and secretary of energy makes him a more experienced public servant than any of the first-tier Democratic candidates: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards. A Mexican-American and a Westerner, Richardson is seen as strong in the critically important bloc of states that include Arizona, Nevada and Colorado, in addition to New Mexico.

Bill Richardson is a SHILL for Hillary and will protect her in the debates.

Just watch…..

Of course, payment will be the vice presidency, unless Richardson has more “TOUCHING” problems with women.

Faces of news: Daytime anchor Jane Skinner and Fox News chief Roger Ailes.

The Nevada Democrat Party wimps out to the pressure from the NUTROOTS and Moveon.org.

So, the Democrats like John Edwards and Bill Richardson are going to pick and choose the coverage of their candidates? And object if the sponsors or venue do not meet their ideological litmus tests?

GOP candidates have been dealing with the acknowledged left-wing slant of the major media outlets for years.

The Fox News response:

News organizations will want to think twice before getting involved in the Nevada Democratic Caucus which appears to be controlled by radical fringe out-of-state interest groups, not the Nevada Democratic Party. In the past, Moveon.org has said they ‘own’ the Democratic party—while most Democrats don’t agree with that, it’s clearly the case in Nevada.

The NUTROOTS have won – but the Democrat candidates for President have LOST.

AP: N.M. governor enters White House race

Democrat Bill Richardson took the first step Sunday toward a bid to become the first Hispanic president, saying the country needs his extensive experience as a governor, cabinet secretary and United Nations ambassador.

The 59-year-old New Mexico governor announced in a video posted on his Web site that he would set up an exploratory committee that will allow him to begin raising money and assembling his campaign organization.

His candidacy would make history as the field of Democratic candidates would be the most diverse ever. On Saturday, New York Sen.

Hillary Rodham Clinton said she wanted to be the first female president. Last week, Sen. Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) of Illinois jumped in, a formidable contender who would be the first black commander in chief.

Richardson, whose father was an international banker from Boston and whose mother was Mexican, said he believes the country “has changed enough” that voters are ready for a woman or minority president.

“The country is looking for somebody who, one, brings the country together — a unifier, a healer,” Richardson told The Associated Press. “And two, somebody who gets things done. Those two quests by Americans override any other concerns.”

Governor Richardson’s announcement video is here:

Everyone knows that Governor Richardson is running for Vice President with Hillary Clinton at the top of the ticket. A moderate, Hispanic (or at least half) experienced politico and one from the West balances the Democrat’s 2008 ticket. Barack Obama does not and the upstart Obama candidacy and the negative leaks preclude his choice as Vice President.

Watch as the campaign begins to unfold how Richardson SHILLS for Hillary – especially on illegal immigration issues.

Stay tuned……..
