Election 2010 Poll Watch: GOP Takes Unprecedented 10-Point Lead on Generic Ballot
I would gather the national Republican Party will do fairly well in the upcoming November elections.Republicans lead by 51% to 41% among registered voters in Gallup weekly tracking of 2010 congressional voting preferences. The 10-percentage-point lead is the GOP’s largest so far this year and is its largest in Gallup’s history of tracking the midterm generic ballot for Congress.
hese results are based on aggregated data from registered voters surveyed Aug. 23-29 as part of Gallup Daily tracking. This marks the fifth week in a row in which Republicans have held an advantage over Democrats — one that has ranged between 3 and 10 points.
The Republican leads of 6, 7, and 10 points this month are all higher than any previous midterm Republican advantage in Gallup’s history of tracking the generic ballot, which dates to 1942. Prior to this year, the highest such gap was five points, measured in June 2002 and July 1994. Elections in both of these years resulted in significant Republican gains in House seats.
Why?
American voters feel that something is VERY wrong with the direction of the United States. And, they will punish the incumbent Democratic Party of President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

NV-Sen Video: Thanks Harry
New American Crossroads ad urging Nevadans to reject Harry Reid’s resurrection of the public option in Obamacare. This new ad from Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie which slams Nevada Democrat Senate Majority leader Harry Reid for making “deals” on ObamaCare is now playing statewide on Nevada television.

Day By Day August 19, 2010 – Diplomacy
Diplomacy, eh?When I was in Las Vegas last week, Nevada Democrat Senator Harry Reid’s television ads were trying to equate Republican challenger Sharron Angle with EXTREMISM.
Now, what was that Dingy Harry?
Who is the extremist?

NV-Sen: Harry Reid Plays Hispanic Race Card – Puts Foot in Mouth Again
Nevada Democrat Senator Harry Reid in Nevada yesterdayRemember it was Harry Reid who dllcared the Iraq War was lost before the Bush/Petraeus SURGE. So, like Vice President Joe Biden, Reid puts his foot in his mouth again. While campaigning in Nevada Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told an audience of mostly Hispanic voters: “I don’t know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, okay. Do I need to say more?”
Reid’s racially-charged comments come as the Nevada Democrat is
trying to boost Hispanic turnout in his bid for reelection this
November. Polls show, however, that Reid’s positions on immigration are
very unpopular with Nevada voters in general. Reid supports the Obama administration’s lawsuit against Arizona over its immigration law, but 63 percent of Nevada voters oppose the lawsuit, according to a Rasmussen poll.Reid voted against a measure to complete a 700-mile fence along the Mexican border in May, but 68 percent of voters nationally support building a border fence, according to Rasmussen.
Now, GOP Senate challenger Sharron Angle will be running even MORE ads against the vulnerable Senate Majority Leader and highlighting his unpopular stance on illegal immigration. And, how many white, particularly Mormon voters did Reid turn off by playing the race card?
The television spots are being produced as this is posted – count on it.
The statement form the Angle campaign:
“Reid has said he’ll do more if re-elected–apparently that means more insensitive racial comments, more gaffes, more lame attempts to distract from what he has done to destroy the Nevada economy. With that said, I suppose Nevadans should just be glad he didn’t say anything racist about Hispanic people’s skin tone or ‘dialect’ this time.”
Also, I wonder how this will affect Harry Reid’s son, Rory’s campaign for Nevada governor? Rory Reid’s opponent is Brian Sandoval who is a Hispanic Republican, who, by the way, is leading in the polls.
A double FAMILY REID GAFFE.
But, true to form, Harry Reid is trying to spin his way out of the GAFFE.
Good luck with that……

NV-Sen Poll Watch: Harry Reid Holds Narrow Lead
As I have said before this race will whip-saw back and forth as the ads spew forth on Nevada television.
The struggling U.S. economy is paramount in voters’ minds as they look ahead to the November 2 election in Nevada, with 74 percent citing the economy as their top concern, the poll of 600 Nevada voters done July 30-August 1 found.
And Nevada’s high jobless rate of 14.2 percent and rising home foreclosures and bankruptcies appear to be taking their toll on Reid in his attempt for a fifth six-year term. Seventy-one percent of registered voters said the state is on the wrong track.
Among voters who said they are likely to vote, Reid held a 48-44 percent lead over Republican challenger Sharron Angle, much narrower than the 52-36 percent edge he had over her among registered voters.
Angle is a conservative darling of the Tea Party movement who has drawn criticism from Reid over earlier campaign promises to “phase-out” two popular government programs for the elderly and poor, Social Security and Medicare.
Reid, as Senate majority leader, is one of the top Democrats in the country and has been a strong backer of President Barack Obama’s agenda. Obama has been to Nevada twice this year to speak on Reid’s behalf.
“He (Reid) is well within her striking distance,” said Ipsos pollster Julia Clark. “I think this one will go down to the wire and it will absolutely depend on turnout.
The economy is really poor in Nevada and from the looks of Las Vegas television (I am on vacation in Nevada) it is obvious with the ads for bankruptcy/foreclosure attorneys.
Harry Reid will have a lot of explaining to do after Labor Day on his abysmal Senate record whereas Angle will have to prove herself as not an extremist.
Stay tuned……

NV-Sen: Harry Reid 43% Vs. Sharron Angle 42%
As I have said before this race is likely to go down to the wire. The Nevada economy really is in dire straits and unemployment is one of the highest, if not the highest in America.
Harry Reid has been and will be running negative ads against Angle all summer and the fall. But, the fact remains is that Harry Reid has been responsible and is a symbol of an ineffective Democrat controlled Congress.
One thing is for sure – the Democrat Party will be dumping millions of dollars in ads to defend Reid that could have gone to other races.
I’ll be heading out to Las Vegas on Monday and will report back on the ads and the state of the race.

Day By Day July 26, 2010 – Stealth Revealed
The Nevada Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is in for a tough re-election race with Sharron Angle. The polls have been up and down for Angle but the real barometer will be the Nevada economy. With Nevada having one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, it will be tough for ANY incumbent politicians to win there in November.
When I traveled a few weeks ago to Reno, it was a stark reminder of hard economic times when I saw abandoned dwellings and commercial buildings. I don’t think those folks will be voting for the status quo – no matter how much money Harry Reid and the Democrats spend on television ads.
