There are many unanswered questions regarding the John Edwards Love Child Affair. And, they will eventually surface. But, does it really matter for Edwards?

Politically, despite some Democrats willingness to excuse away his indiscretions, Edwards is TOAST - much like Henry Cisneros (remember him from the Clinton Administration?).

Why? Do you ask?

It is not so much about the affair but ALL about the lies and cover-up.

Put a Fork in John Edwards - He’s DONE.

Mickey Kaus again is on top of the story about John Edwards, his alleged mistress and former videographer Rielle Hunter and his alleged love child, Frances Quinn Hunter.

• Facing questions, Edwards evades reporters

It was only three weeks ago that John Edwards was fielding media questions on his chances of filling the Democratic Party’s vice presidential slot on Barack Obama’s ticket or a potential Cabinet position in an Obama administration.

On Wednesday, however, the former U.S. senator and 2004 vice presidential nominee was eager to duck the press when the questions took a tabloid turn.

About a dozen reporters and photojournalists attended a speech Edwards gave to an AARP Foundation symposium on poverty and aging in Washington. Afterward, he avoided most of the waiting reporters, at least some of whom wanted to question him about recent reports in the National Enquirer that alleged an inappropriate relationship with a former campaign videographer.

John Edwards, should he ever wish to resume his political career will have to answer some questions about the National Enquirer piece. Some basics will suffice:

• Is John Edwards the father of Frances Quinn Hunter?

• Why was Edwards in the Beverly Hilton Hotel at this time in the morning and why did he hide from reporters in the bathroom?

But, if he continues to duck the press, “say good night, Gracie” to any appointment to an Obama Administration or any future Democrat Party post.

Flap says Edwards easiest recourse is to check into rehab and claim substance abuse or sex addiction.

Isn’t this what all the CELEBS do? Especially the ones sporting the $400 haircuts?

Mickey Kaus says The National Enquirer has moved onto the “coverup” of the John Edwards, paid off mistress and love child story rather than publish the photographs of their reporters run-in with Edwards last week.

In context, the photos would be powerful evidence. Enquirer editor David Perel apparently doesn’t want to win over the MSM by releasing them. He’d rather have the Edwards story all to himself.

An interview of the Los Angeles Times blogmeister Tony Pierce offers the MSM standard excuses of why they buried the story and continue to do so today. Or is it ignoring?

Of course, if Edwards had been a GOP Senator or Presidential candidate, all of the Los Angeles Times bloggers would have been directed to cover the story.

This story will remain moribund until The National Enquirer decides to release at least one of the photographs of the fleeing and/or cowering Edwards or breaks more of which they have promised.

Chris, the Los Angeles Times which has been laying off employees in droves (due to declining circulation) merely instructed its bloggers to not indulge the National Inquirer story about John Edwards’ mistress and love child.

Yawn……

In the meantime, John Edwards has NO comment and Fox News has interviewed the Beverly Hills security guard who intervened between John Edwards and the National Enquirer reporters.
