    • President 2012 GOP: S.C. Republicans Escalate Election Calendar Feud – South Carolina Republican Party Chair Karen Floyd today brought into the open the simmering tensions between the traditional early states and the others — particularly Florida — jockeying to break into the primary calendar.

Floyd's demand: If Florida won't step aside, the RNC should move its convention out of the state.

She writes to fellow RNC members:

Unfortunately, our Party stands on the precipice of our hard work being rendered meaningless, with the very real possibility looming that Florida’s Presidential Preference Primary may be held prior to March 1, in contravention of Party Rules – a move that would precipitate numerous other states similarly violating Party Rules.

As conservatives, we believe in the rule of law, and that rules are made to be followed. To that end, I am sure we all appreciate our state Party counterparts in Florida advocating for the RNC rules being obeyed. But what is disconcerting is the apparent recalcitrance of Florida’s Republican-controlled legislature, which is in effect thumbing its nose at the RNC – and feels emboldened to do so because of the 2012 convention location….

Simply put, if Florida does not respect the process by which our primary calendar was set, the RNC should not be bound to the process by which the convention site was selected.

If Florida refuses to move its primary date into compliance with RNC rules, I am respectfully requesting that the Committee convene a special task force to select a new site for the 2012 Convention outside the state of Florida…

She suggests the labor battlegrounds of Wisconsin, Ohio, or Indiana, Senate battlegrounds of Virginia, Missouri, or Michigan, or the Democratic convention spot of Charlotte as possible alternatives.

Florida is > than South Carolina

    • The AARP America Doesn’t Know – An Investigative Report – AARP, formerly known as the American Association of
      Retired Persons, is a tax-exempt non-profit membership
organization for those aged 50 years and older. As
such, AARP has long been regarded as a protector and
advocate of the nation’s senior community.
What is less known is the extent to which AARP
operates as a massive for-profit enterprise and how
that conflicts with its legal requirements to “primarily
operate to promote the common good and social
welfare of a community of people.”
This report highlights AARP’s increasing reliance on
the “for-profit” sale of insurance, particularly health
insurance, and the underlying implication for this storied
“non-profit” organization. In conducting the research,
one of the central questions became: Why would AARP
aggressively advocate for the Democrats’ health care
law last year which contained nearly one half-trillion
dollars in cuts that independent analysts said would
negatively impact seniors’ access to affordable health
      care services.

Day By Day November 6, 2009 – Thirst for Representation

Day By Day by Chris Muir

The American Association of Retired Persons – AARP has been a LEFT-WING spewing organization for many years. Although I am eligible I have NOT joined and NEVER will. They do NOT represent me on American health care or anything else.

The American Medical Association is a strange endorser of Obamacare. Perhaps the physicans that do belong to the AMA (and their membership has been eroding lately and NOT every MD belongs) are either big government, public health types or they are just scared as to not be a part of a reform solution. I do know that many physicans that are my age WILL retire if the government takes over the remainder of private medicine. How will Obama and Pelosi deal with a lack of trained professionals?

With last Tuesday’s election results in Virginia and New Jersey, I continue to hold that Obamacare with a public option has a slim chance of passing into law. The GOP will NOT support it in the Senate (even Senator Olympia Snowe) and neither will a few Democrats like Senator Joe Lieberman. The Democrat majority will not be able to invoke cloture (prevent a filibuster). Now, reconcilation may be a different matter – but very risky politically in an upcoming midterm congressional election year.

Exit question: Will Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid push Obamacare through at the political risk of their members?

Shocker: Thousands Quit AARP Over Obamacare

Not really shocking, now is it?

CBS News has learned that up to 60,000 people have cancelled their AARP memberships since July 1, angered over the group’s position on health care.

Elaine Guardiani has been with AARP for 14 years, and said, “I’m extremely disappointed in AARP.”

Retired nurse Dale Anderson has 12 years with AARP and said, “I don’t wanna be connected with AARP.”

Many are switching to the American Seniors Association, a group that calls itself the conservative alternative as CBS News.

The Seniors have finally figured out that the AARP is a left-wing front organization. I think they will bleed members unless they move more towards the center of the political spectrum.

Frankly, I don’t need a senior associaton to represent me but I don’t want one that works against MY interests like the AARP.

Obama LIES About Obamacare Endorsement By AARP?

AARP to their members: “We do not support President Obama’s health care plan”

A gaffe, a mistake or blatant misrepresentation?

President Obama today suggested that the health care reform legislation for which he’s pushing has been endorsed by the American Association of Retired Person.

“We have the AARP on board because they know this is a good deal for our seniors,” the president said.

At another point he said: “Well, first of all, another myth that we’ve been hearing about is this notion that somehow we’re going to be cutting your Medicare benefits.  We are not.  AARP would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare, okay?”

    The problem?

The AARP hasn’t endorsed any plan yet.

The country’s largest advocacy group for Americans over 50 issued a statement after the event saying, “While the President was correct that AARP will not endorse a health care reform bill that would reduce Medicare benefits, indications that we have endorsed any of the major health care reform bills currently under consideration in Congress are inaccurate.”

Come on, Mr. President – at least get your facts straight.

How can any American believe Obama on health care when he begins spewing the rhetoric without regards to reality.

Obamacare is sinking by the minute.

Day By Day by Chris Muir July 17, 2009 – The AARP Birthday Card

    day by day 071709

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Yeah, Flap received a birthday card on my 50th birthday at my dental office. Now, how they found this address and not my home address is anyone’s guess.

But, like other Left-Wing advocacy groups pretending to be charities or non-partisan, their mailers soon hit the trash bin before my receptionist even carried back the bills and correspondence. I really have never had any use for them.

Joe Biden is becoming a liability for President Obama. Does anyone think he will remain on the ticket in 2012?

When will Hilary and Bill finally figure out that Secretary of State is a dead-end job and demand to be placed as Obama’s second in command? Uhhhhh – when the heat ratchets up on Biden’s gaffes from the Clinton Cabal.

One of Flap’s pet peeves are LEFT WING controlled business like the AARP that stealthily hide their ideologically zeal and advocacy. Another such business is Progressive Insurance.

Exit question: Why does the LEFT routinely bash insurance companies when so many of them are controlled by the LEFT in this country and/or are receiving massive government bailouts?

By the way, Flap, although eligible, will never belong to AARP.
