Methamphetamine: Oregon Tightens the Prescription of Pseudoephedrine
The New York Times has Oregon to Require Prescriptions for Medications Linked to Meth.
Gov. Theodore R. Kulongoski signed legislation on Tuesday that would make Oregon the first state to require prescriptions for everyday cold and allergy medications that can be converted into methamphetamine.
The requirement applies to any medication containing pseudoephedrine, the crucial ingredient in methamphetamine.
Governor Kulongoski said he was aware that the law might cause inconvenience for allergy and cold sufferers but said that pharmaceutical companies already were producing replacement medications that did not contain pseudoephedrine and could not be converted to methamphetamine.
Great Job……this will help eliminate the hometown methamphetamine labs.

California Nurse Watch: Stalking Schwarzenegger at Stones Concert
The Moron of the Day Award goes to the California Nurses Association and National Nurses Organizing Committee for vowing to STALK California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and travel to Boston to protest his corporate fundraising and policies harmful to nurses and other Californians. Their protest will occur outside a $100,000 per ticket fundraiser he is holding at the Rolling Stones kickoff concert at Fenway Park in Boston.
They will be joined by RNs from the Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA), as well as local teachers, firefighters, and activists at a pre-concert press conference this Sunday, August 21st at 5:00 p.m.

Air America Scandel: Inside Air America, An Investigative Blog Report
Michelle Malkin and Brian Maloney have collaborated and published an investigative piece on the Air America Scandel involving the misappropriation and theft of $875,000 from an inner city New York Boys and Girls Club.

It’s not just the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls that’s knocking on Air America Radio’s door looking for lost money. According to court records obtained by Radio Equalizer/MichelleMalkin.com, another major creditor has been demanding that Air America pay up. The liberal radio network has refused to do so, despite a court order and scathing words from a New York judge overseeing the case. Now, the creditor–Multicultural Radio Broadcasting Inc.–has filed a new complaint, accusing Air America and Piquant LLC (Air America’s current owners) of engaging in a “sham transaction” and “fraudulent conveyance” of assets in order to avoid paying its debts. The initial battle between Multicultural Radio and Air America was widely covered last year.
Now, here’s the rest of the story the MSM has yet to report.
On June 23, 2004, New York Supreme Court Judge Marylin Diamond filed this order. The matter concerning the two parties’ time brokerage agreement was not settled in Air America’s favor.
Five months later, on Nov. 24, 2004, Judge Diamond filed a default judgment ordering Air America to pay Multicultural Radio the sum of $255,518.86 in damages.

Six months after that order was filed, Multicultural Radio still had not been paid. On May 24, 2005, the company filed another complaint with the New York State Supreme Court–this time with legal guns blazing. Named as defendants were past officers and directors of Air America Radio, as well as current officers, directors and investors of Piquant LLC, including:

Rob GlaserNote that this revelation included in the complaint was made in May 2005–two months before the story hit the blogosphere and Air America publicly acknowledged its “moral obligation” to pay back Gloria Wise.
The complaint next documents Air America’s p.r. strategy of smearing Multicultural Radio president Arthur Liu.
According to Multicultural Radio, dissenters from the “classic shell game” scheme were met with threats.
And the deal proceeded.
In addition to its obligations to Multicultural Radio, the complaint alleges that Air America owed more than $2 million in accounts payable and had no means to repay its obligations. Multicultural Radio further alleges that Cohen and Sorensen made a deal with Piquant promising never to sue, retaining an ownership interest in Piquant, and all agreeing to “indemnify and hold harmless” one another “with respect to claims for any breach or default or failure to perform any undertakings pursuant to their agreement.

Now you know why the current owners of Air America seem so disinterested in holding Cohen accountable for the Gloria Wise mess.Now you know why Air America and its defenders are using smear tactics to disparage critics and bloggers and journalists asking hard questions about its past and current finances.
But what’s next for Air America as it travels down its trail paved with debts?

Drudge has CINDY UNLEASHED: ‘THE BIGGEST TERRORIST IN THE WORLD IS GEORGE W. BUSH’.

So declared Cindy Sheehan earlier this year during a rally at San Francisco State University.
Sheehan, who is demanding a second meeting with Bush, stated: “We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now.”
And you wonder why no mainstream Democrats like Hillary or Joe Biden are going anywhere near Texas.
Sheehan unleashed a foul-mouth tirade on April 27, 2005:
“They’re a bunch of fucking hypocrites! And we need to, we just need to rise up…” Sheehan said of the Bush administration.
“If George Bush believes his rhetoric and his bullshit, that this is a war for freedom and democracy, that he is spreading freedom and democracy, does he think every person he kills makes Iraq more free?”
“The whole world is damaged. Our humanity is damaged. If he thinks that it’s so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense of freedom and democracy, then he needs to sign up his two little party-animal girls. They need to go to this war.”
“We want our country back and, if we have to impeach everybody from George Bush down to the person who picks up dog shit in Washington, we will impeach all those people.”

Air America Scandel: Where is Evan Montvel-Cohen?
Michelle Malkin asks were is Evan Montvel-Cohen and why is Air America and Al Franken not pursuing him in this piece, AIR ENRON: AL FRANKEN NEEDS HELP.
The subject of my latest column: Where in the world is Evan Montvel-Cohen? The former chairman of Air America Radio and disgraced development director of the Bronx-based Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club has been unavailable to the MSM. New York investigators will not comment on whether they have been able to interview him. And current Air America management and on-air talent seem not to care–even as they attempt to pin the blame on their latest financial woes on the man Al Franken is calling a “crook.”
It seems that the radio personalities at Air America are more concerned with corporate jets to take them to Crawford, Texas than repaying the hundreds of thousands of dollars to Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club. Radioblogger has this story in this piece, Al’s Priorities. and Internal Dissent?
One hopes the FBI and the New York state authorities have a better explanation of Evan Montvel-Cohen’s whereabouts because the Air America folks seem to care less.
But, Franken, Air America is repaying the money, right? When?
Will there be an indictment soon? Is there already one under seal?

Here’s an indication of how radical Cindy Sheehan’s views are–and a glimpse into why mainstream Dems won’t go near her. This is from Mrs. Sheehan’s appearance on Hardball (yeah, I know) last night. I will let it speak for itself. Hat tip: Reader R.L. Ward:
MATTHEWS: Can I ask you a tough question? A very tough question.
SHEEHAN: Yes.
MATTHEWS: All right. If your son had been killed in Afghanistan, would you have a different feeling?
SHEEHAN: I don’t think so, Chris, because I believe that Afghanistan is almost the same thing. We’re fighting terrorism. Or terrorists, we’re saying. But they’re not contained in a country. This is an ideology and not an enemy. And we know that Iraq, Iraq had no terrorism. They were no threat to the United States of America.
MATTHEWS: But Afghanistan was harboring, the Taliban was harboring al-Qaida which is the group that attacked us on 9/11.
SHEEHAN: Well then we should have gone after al-Qaida and maybe not after the country of Afghanistan.
MATTHEWS: But that’s where they were being harbored. That’s where they were headquartered. Shouldn’t we go after their headquarters? Doesn’t that make sense?
SHEEHAN: Well, but there were a lot of innocent people killed in that invasion, too. … But I’m seeing that we’re sending our ground troops in to invade countries where the entire country wasn’t the problem. Especially Iraq. Iraq was no problem. And why do we send in invading armies to march into Afghanistan when we’re looking for a select group of people in that country?
So I believe that our troops should be brought home out of both places where we’re obviously not having any success in Afghanistan. Osama bin Laden is still on the loose and that’s who they told us was responsible for 9/11.
