Iraq War Watch: Murtha Says Cut and Run

Rep. John P. Murtha, D-Pa

The Los Angeles Times and Dog Trainer has House Democrat Calls for Fast Withdrawal From Iraq

Signaling heightened opposition to the war in Iraq from a corner of long-standing support for the military, Rep. John Murtha, a conservative Pennsylvania Democrat, said today the United States should immediately begin to bring its troops home.

Murtha, the senior Democrat on the House Defense Appropriations subcommittee, said the U.S. military forces should be withdrawn as quickly as possible, which could be accomplished within six months. He called for maintaining a rapid-deployment force in the region.

Is this the new Democrat Party strategy…… Cut and Run from Iraq?

Let’s see who joins him?

Biden? Hillary? Boxer?

Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa. gestures during a Capitol Hill news conference, Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 to discuss the Iraq War. Murtha, an influential House Democrat who voted for the Iraq war called Thursday for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, another sign of growing unease in Congress about the conflict.

Hillary? She’s been a consistent supporter of the war. You obviously live in a faith based reality where you just *know* things.

What else do the aliens tell you?

Actually, as you know, Murtha didn’t call for an “immediate withdrawal”. He called for “a withdrawal as soon as practical”. That sounds like the beginning of a very good strategy for saving a lot of American and Iraqi lives. Of course, we then wouldn’t be able to steal their oil, privatize their utilities, or “democratize” their Mullahs now would we? You must own stock in Halliburton.
