Iran Nuclear Watch: Iran Resumes Nuclear Fuel Research
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivers a speech during a meeting between his cabinet and the parliament in Tehran. Ahmadinejad said that Iran would not ‘step back’ on its decision to resume nuclear fuel work, state television reported.
Reuters: Iran announces further resumption of atomic work
Iran announced on Tuesday it would resume nuclear fuel research, a move sure to anger Washington and the European Union which fear the Islamic state wants to make atomic fuel to build bombs.
Mohammad Saeedi, deputy head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, said Tehran had informed the U.N. nuclear watchdog in writing that the nuclear work would resume shortly.
“Within the next few days we will start researching that field in cooperation and coordination with the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency),” he told state television.
The news coincided with strong hints from Iran’s Foreign Ministry that Tehran planned to reject a Russian compromise proposal aimed at defusing Iran’s nuclear row with the West.
The two developments were likely to spark renewed calls in the West for the case to be referred to the U.N. Security Council, where Iran could face political or economic sanctions.
The Iranian developments should be immediately referred to the United Nations Security Council for the imposition of economic sanctions.
The European Union have been fecking around with these characters for far too long.
In the meantime, war planning continues in the United States and Israel.
A referral vote could be held at the next meeting of the IEA’s 35-nation governing board, scheduled for March 6. At its last session in November, the board opted to put off any vote to give time for Russia’s proposal to bear fruit.
“The latest moves by Iran may strengthen the hands of those who want to report this matter to the Security Council at the March board,” said a senior diplomat close to the IAEA, referring to the European Union and United States.
And for further consideration by the United Nations this report, Iran can now produce its own yellowcake
Iran, in what has been regarded as a major step, has announced development of technology to separate uranium from its ore.
The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization has achieved indigenous capability to separate uranium from its ore, officials said. They said the technology, known as a mixer-settler, would enable the extraction of uranium from the mined ore to produce concentrated uranium oxide, or yellowcake.
Flap predicts a March United Nations Security Council referral or the B-2’s are in the air.
The COULD be flying any day now…….

Iraq War Watch: Murtha – Would You Join Military Today? “NO!”
Congressman John Murtha (D-PA) speaks to reporters in Washington, December 14, 2005. Murtha, a key Democratic voice who favors pulling troops from Iraq, said in remarks airing on Monday that he would not join the U.S. military today.
Reuters has US Rep. Murtha says he wouldn’t join military now
Rep. John Murtha, a key Democratic voice who favors pulling U.S. troops from Iraq, said in remarks airing on Monday that he would not join the U.S. military today.
A decorated Vietnam combat veteran who retired as a colonel after 37 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Murtha told ABC News’ “Nightline” program that Iraq “absolutely” was a wrong war for
President George W. Bush to have launched.“Would you join (the military) today?,” he was asked in an interview taped on Friday.
“No,” replied Murtha of Pennsylvania, the top Democrat on the House of Representatives subcommittee that oversees defense spending and one of his party’s leading spokesmen on military issues.
“And I think you’re saying the average guy out there who’s considering recruitment is justified in saying ‘I don’t want to serve’,” the interviewer continued.
“Exactly right,” said Murtha, who drew White House ire in November after becoming the first ranking Democrat to push for a pullout of U.S. forces from Iraq as soon as it could be done safely.
Murtha has it WRONG and undermines the American troops and Allies serving in Iraq. Congressman Murtha should immediately resign from all congressional committees relating to the Department of Defense since he NO longer supports them. If he does not resign, Speaker Hastert should remove him.

France Riot Watch: State of Emergency Lifted
French President Jacques Chirac reviews the troops during the traditional New Year ceremony followed by the first weekly cabinet meeting of the year at the Elysee Palace, in Paris, Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006. France’s Cabinet approved the lifting of a state of emergency imposed during three weeks of rioting and arson across the country, a minister confirmed.
Reuters has France lifts emergency measures imposed in riots
France’s conservative government lifted a state of emergency on Tuesday that was introduced last November to help quell rioting by youths in rundown suburbs that was the worst violence in the country in nearly 40 years.
The decision was made after calmer than expected New Year celebrations that officials had feared might trigger new violent protests against racism and unemployment by youths of African and Arab origin, as well as whites living in the poor areas.
The state of emergency gave regional officials power to impose curfews and carry out searches during the day or at night without a judge’s order. Opposition leaders criticised the measures as excessive and few towns actually imposed them.
Almost 9,000 cars were burnt out and 3,000 people were arrested in three weeks of violence.
At the height of last month’s riots, 2,400 cars were burnt in one night
French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin smiles as he arrives at the Elysee Palace for the traditional New Year’s greetings to President Jacques Chirac followed by the weekly cabinet meeting, in Paris, Tuesday Jan. 3, 2006.
“It seems today that the conditions that justified maintaining the state of emergency no longer exist,” said a government statement after the weekly cabinet meeting that approved lifting the emergency measures.
“The situation today is not completely satisfactory, but it seems mostly calm,” government spokesman Jean-Francois Cope told reporters.
Stay Tuned…….
