Illegal Alien Watch: Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano Orders MORE National Guard Troops to Mexico Border
A US Border Patrol officer patrols the fence at the US-Mexico border near Nogales, Arizona. Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano ordered more National Guard soldiers deployed to the state’s border with Mexico to help fight crime and stem the flow of undocumented migrants.
ASSociated Press: Ariz. Governor Orders Troops to Border
Gov. Janet Napolitano on Wednesday ordered more National Guardsmen posted at the Mexican border to help stop illegal immigrants and curb related crimes.
National Guard troops have worked at the border since 1988, but Napolitano signed an order authorizing commanders to station an unspecified number of additional soldiers there to help federal agents.
Once the funding is approved, the troops will monitor crossing points, assist with cargo inspection and operate surveillance cameras, according to the order.
“They are not there to militarize the border,” the governor said. “We are not at war with Mexico.”
Yes, America is!
Good for Napolitano.
And where is President Bush?
The Democratic governor proposed sending troops to the border more than two months ago. Her critics in the Republican-led Legislature then introduced a bill requiring her to do so and providing $10 million for the project.
The bill won final approval Wednesday in the House and was headed to the governor, but she promised to veto the measure, saying it infringes on her constitutional powers as commander in chief of the Arizona National Guard.
The United States – Mexican border is a disgrace.
And President Bush does NOT want to enforce the immigration laws.
Shameful……..

Iran Nuclear Watch: Russia – “United Nations Sanctions on Iran Would Be Ineffective”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov speaks to reporters at the United Nations headquarters in New York, March 8, 2006.
Reuters: Russia opposes punitive UN Council action on Iran
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that imposing U.N. Security Council sanctions on Iran would be ineffective in convincing Tehran to curb its nuclear ambitions.
Sergei Lavrov also told reporters after meeting U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan that he opposed military action and questioned any measures the West might propose in the Security Council, saying the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency had to remain in the lead.
“We should all strive for a solution which would not endanger the ability of the IAEA to continue its work in Iran, while of course making sure that there is no danger for the nonproliferation regime,” Lavrov said.
Asked about sanctions, Lavrov said, “I don’t think sanctions as a means to solve a crisis have ever achieved a goal in the recent history.”
All of this United Nations activity is worthless and meaningless. Lavrov is correct. And Russia will be NO help to the United States in stopping Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
But, the United States and Israel will ACT in their own best interests…..
Stay tuned…….

Iran Nuclear Watch: United Nations Security Council to Meet on Iran Next Week
Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani speaks during the opening session of the clerical body of the Assembly of Experts as former President Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani (top) listens in Tehran, Iran March 7, 2006.
Reuters: UN Security Council said to meet next week on Iran
The U.N. Security Council is expected to meet on Iran next week, a senior EU diplomat said on Wednesday as nuclear watchdog governors met to debate a report on the Iranian nuclear drive that Tehran called “politicized.”
Council intervention over suspicions Iran secretly seeks atomic bombs appeared inevitable after Tehran brushed aside a reported Russian offer to allow limited nuclear research if it swore off industrial fuel production for 7-9 years.
Iran’s position has been “solid” for some time. Iran desires to continue uranium enrichment so that they can manufacture nuclear weapons.
The International Atomic Energy Agency’s 35-nation board of governors reported Iran to the council a month ago and called on it to shelve uranium-enrichment work and stop stonewalling IAEA investigations into the nature of its nuclear program.
But the report by IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei given to this week’s board session said Tehran had generally flouted the February 4 appeal by expanding a pilot enrichment drive, inviting Council intervention that could lead to consideration of sanctions.
The senior diplomat from the EU trio of powers Britain, France and German said the impasse in their and Russian efforts to resolve the crisis by diplomacy with Iran meant the council was expected to begin deliberations next week.
Asking not to be further identified due to the subject’s sensitivity, he said the council would work quickly to issue a “presidential statement”So, will calling on Iran to suspend all atomic fuel enrichment activity and fully cooperate with U.N. investigations into the nature of its atomic ambitions.
If Iran defies the call, the council could repeat its message with a possible threat of action if it were unheeded.
So, will Iran play the “OIL CARD?”
Or will Iran fire a military shot across America’s bow?
Oh, by the way, what the United Nations Security Council does next week is meaningless. The United States and Israel are ready and willing to enforce “NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS” for Iran.
Stay tuned……

Iran Nuclear Watch: Iran Threatens United States with “Harm and Pain”
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, left, waves to supporters in western of Iran, Wednesday, March. 8, 2006. Ahmadinejad said Wednesday that Iran has made its decision to pursue a peaceful nuclear program and the world has to give in to Iran’s right for uranium enrichment. Ahmadienjad was apparently referring to the United States which has rejected a Russian proposal to allow Iran carry out research-scale uranium enrichment in return for suspension of large-scale enrichment.
ASSociated Press: Iran Threatens U.S. With ‘Harm and Pain’
Iran threatened the United States with “harm and pain” Wednesday for its role in hauling Tehran before the U.N. Security Council over its nuclear program.
But the United States and its European allies said Iran’s nuclear intransigence left the world no choice but to ask for Security Council action. The council could impose economic and political sanctions on Iran.
The statements were delivered to the 35-member board of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which is meeting to focus on Tehran’s refusal to freeze uranium enrichment.
YAWN……Iran has been intransigent in their position for uranium enrichment. If they don’t stand down their nuclear program the United States and Israel will do it for them.
The meeting is in effect the last step before the Security Council begins considering Iran’s nuclear activities and international fears they could be misused to make weapons. It began with both Iran and nations which oppose its enrichment plans sticking to their positions, reflecting the deadlock that prompted the IAEA board to seek Security Council intervention.
The Quote:
“The United States has the power to cause harm and pain,” said a statement delivered by the Iranian delegation. “But the United States is also susceptible to harm and pain. So if that is the path that the U.S. wishes to choose, let the ball roll.”
The ball continues in the United States court but be prepared for a measured but steadfast diplomatic response.
Will Iran fire a shot across the United States bow? Will they start an oil crisis or blockade oil tanker routes?
Javad Vaeidi of the Iranian delegation waits for the start of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) 35-nation board meeting, Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Vienna’s International Center. Europe expressed renewed concern about Iran’s nuclear agenda Wednesday as the board focused on Tehran’s refusal to freeze uranium enrichment and fully cooperate with an IAEA probe ahead of U.N. Security Council action.
The statement did not elaborate on what Iran meant by “harm and pain,” and Iranian officials were not immediately available to comment.
But diplomats accredited to the meeting and in contact with the Iranians said the statement could be a veiled threat to use oil as an economic weapon.
Iran is the second-largest producer within the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, and a boycott could target Europe, China or India.
The republic also could cause difficulties in southern Iraq. On Tuesday, U.S. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld accused Tehran of dispatching elements of its Revolutionary Guard to stir trouble inside Iraq.
The POINT OF NO RETURN for the United States and Israel is approaching.
Flap handicaps the United States will await United Nations Security Council action before making other than covert and/or diplomatic moves.
But, will Iran wait?
Doubtful.
Iran’s statement was unusually harsh, reflecting Tehran’s frustration at failing to deflect the threat of Security Council action against it in the coming weeks. Tehran maintains its nuclear program is for generating electricity.
“Our nation has made its decision to fully use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and all have to give in to this decision made by the Iranian nation,” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in Iran. “We have made our choice.”
Iran also attacked “warmongers in Washington” for what it said was an unjust accusation that Tehran’s nuclear intentions were mainly for military use. It also suggested America was vulnerable, despite its strength.
“Surely we are not naive about the United States’ … intention to flex muscles,” the statement said. “But we also see the bone fractures underneath.”
It also threatened broader retaliation, without being specific, saying Iran “will adapt our policy and adjust our approach to conform with the new exigencies.”
Earlier, U.S. delegate Gregory Schulte insisted in comments to the board that “the time has now come for the Security Council to act.”The United States’ strategy may be to force China to veto a Security Council resolution condemning Iran’s nuclear program, then take our own economic and/or military action – like a blockade or embargo. But, America will NOT expect any action from the United Nations.
The ball is clearly in President Bush’s court.
Stay tuned…..
