Representative Cynthia McKinney Watch: Admits to Misusing Taxpayer Funds
Representative Cynthia McKinney (R) (D-GA) gets ready to speak at a news conference with actor Danny Glover (L) after she had an altercation with a Capitol Hill police officer earlier in the week in Washington March 31, 2006. McKinney is waiting to learn if she will be charged for apparently striking an officer after she entered a House office building earlier this week unrecognized and did not stop when asked.
WSBTV.com: McKinney Admits Misusing Taxpayer Money
Rep. Cynthia McKinney admits that she broke government rules by spending money to fly a celebrity to Atlanta.
Channel 2 Action News has uncovered documents showing McKinney, D-Ga., spent about $1,000 of taxpayer’s money to fly singer Isaac Hayes to Georgia to help dedicate a new office in Atlanta. The money came from a fund members of Congress are supposed to use for office supplies.
Issac Hayes does not look like office supplies here
or
Using the money to pay for Hayes’ airline ticket and hotel expenses is a violation of strict congressional rules. Those rules state that taxpayer money can only be used for “travel by Members, Members’ employees and vendors. A vendor is an employee of a private company that provides maintenance and support for equipment and software…”
Watchdog groups call taxpayer-funded celebrity travel a blatant waste of taxpayer money.McKinney staffers say they will reimburse the congressional fund for the cost of Hayes’ flight and hotel room.
This Member of Congress is out of control.
Will not the Democrat caucus exert some control to rein in this criminal?
Doubtful……
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi already stated the Capitol police officer assault was NO BIG DEAL.
Disgraceful…….
McKinney should resign her office.
Stay tuned……

Representative Cynthia McKinney Watch: Capitol Police Ask for ARREST WARRANT
AJC: Capitol police ask for arrest warrant for McKinney
Capitol Hill police on Monday asked a federal prosecutor to approve an arrest warrant for Rep. Cynthia McKinney for her role in a scuffle with a police officer last week, the prosecutor’s office confirmed.
Capitol Police had no immediate comment so it’s not yet known whether the intent is to file felony or misdemeanor assault charges against McKinney, a DeKalb County Democrat.
Throw the book at her…..
Now, comes the whining and racism charges……
Coz Carson, a spokesman for McKinney, said the requested warrant should be dismissed if “this is a prosecutor who’s not a politician.”
“Any prosecutor with any sense can look at this thing and understand that it’s not something that should be blown out of proportion any further,” Carson said.
State Rep. Tyrone Brooks gives U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney a kiss Monday at a meeting of Concerned Black Clergy of Metropolitan Atlanta at Community Church of God in Atlanta.
Also Monday, black preachers, elected officials and activists in Atlanta cited McKinney’s recent run-in with Capitol police as an example of racial profiling and called what happened to her disrespectful.
Concerned Black Clergy of Metropolitan Atlanta, along with members of the Georgia Association of Black Elected Officials, announced their continued support for the sixth-term congresswoman at a morning meeting.
Supporters say the incident has been blown out of proportion and politicized. Her treatment, they added, was excessive and shows that black elected officials aren’t immune to problems of double standards and racial profiling other African-Americans face.
“Racial profiling is a well thought out and planned attack on black political leaders,” state Rep. Alberta Abdul-Salaam said Monday. “It’s going from the gold dome down to the White House. It’s happening and it’s wrong.”
More from the ASSociated Press: McKinney Case Goes to Federal Prosecutor
The U.S. Capitol Police on Monday submitted their case against Rep. Cynthia McKinney to the U.S. Attorney’s office, which will consider whether the Georgia congresswoman will face charges for tangling with a law enforcement officer last week.
“We are working with Capitol Hill police to fully understand and appreciate the incident,” principal assistant U.S. Attorney Channing Phillips told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
Again, McKinney should apologize, plead guilty and do her community service and pay her fine.
But, will she do this?
No, she will make this another unjust racial profiling case……
Member of Congress or NOT Representative McKinney is NOT ABOVE THE LAW.
Stay tuned…..

Iran Nuclear Watch: Blix – “Iran is at Least Five Years Away from Developing a Nuclear Bomb”
Photo released on Monday April 3, 2006 shows a test firing of a Fajr-3 missile fired by Iran in the Persian Gulf on April 1, 2006. Iran conducted its second major test of a new missile within days, firing a high-speed torpedo that it said no submarine or warship can escape and boasting of its strength at a time of increased tensions with the United States over its nuclear program. The tests Sunday came during war games that Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards have been holding in the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea since Friday.
ASSociated Press: Blix: Iran Years Away From Nuclear Bomb
Former U.N. chief weapons inspector Hans Blix said Monday that Iran is a least five years away from developing a nuclear bomb, leaving time to peacefully negotiate a settlement.
Blix, attending an energy conference in western Norway, said he doubted the U.S. would resort to invading Iran.
“But there is a chance that the U.S. will use bombs or missiles against several sites in Iran,” he was quoted by Norwegian news agency NTB as saying. “Then, the reactions would be strong, and would contribute to increased terrorism.”
Blix said there is still time for dialogue over Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, which Tehran insists is for peaceful purposes but the West fears is part of a secret nuclear weapons program.
“We have time on our side in this case. Iran can’t have a bomb ready in the next five years,” Blix was quoted as saying.
And if Blix is wrong?
Most intelligence reports have Iran closer than five years and Mark Steyn even prognosticates that Iran already possesses enough fissionable material to make 1 or 2 crude nuclear bombs.
Also, would the new Fajr-3 missle be a possible delivery system of these bombs on Israel or United States troops stationed in Iraq?
Stay tuned…..

Canada Watch: New Conservative Government to Scrap Plan to Decriminalize Marijuana Use
Marijuana advocate Jason Drayton, with his black cat on his shoulder, waves a flag outside the British Columbia Supreme Court in Vancouver August 2, 2005. Canada’s new Conservative government will scrap draft legislation which would have decriminalized the possession of small amounts of marijuana, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Monday.
Reuters: Canada scraps plan to decriminalize marijuana use
Canada’s new Conservative government will scrap draft legislation which would have decriminalized the possession of small amounts of marijuana, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Monday.
The legislation, drawn up by the previous Liberal government, alarmed police officials in Canada and the neighboring United States who said it would only encourage the already booming trade in pot.
Once the Liberals lost the January 23 election after 12 years in power, the bill looked to be in deep trouble. One of Harper’s five priorities is to clamp down on crime.
“We will not be reintroducing the Liberal government’s marijuana decriminalization legislation,” he told a meeting of the Canadian Professional Police Association.
“I thought we might find a receptive audience here,” he told his audience after winning a round of applause.
Under the Liberal bill, people found with small amounts of marijuana would have been fined but would not have received a criminal record.
Decriminalization indeed.
Just what we need more illicit marijuana smuggling……

Representative Cynthia McKinney Watch: News Conference Today – “NOTHING New!”
U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) listens as politicans and ministers speak in her support at a news conference on Apr. 3, 2006.
WXIA-TV ATLANTA: McKinney Talks, Not About Charges
U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-4th Ga.) used her recent media attention to tell assembled news cameras what she has done for them at a Monday speech.
She did not address a possible criminal charge stemming from an altercation last week with a Capitol police officer.
The speech, before a meeting of the Concerned Black Clergy, was preceded by a number of local Atlanta area politicians and religious leaders who bolstered McKinney’s racially-tinged statements from last Friday.
Reporters were not allowed to ask questions at the end of the remarks.
And does Representative McKinney think she can get away with assaulting this Capitol police officer by playing the “black race card?”
Apparently so…….
Supporters who spoke included Democratic state legislators Representative “Able” Mable Thomas and Senator Vincent Fort. Her supporters pledged to stand by McKinney, and took the opportunity to attack security procedures at the U.S. Capitol and to claim that problems there were the result of racism.
McKinney will NOT be arrested today but Flap handicaps an arrest warrant is imminent.
And about time…….

WXIA – TV Atlanta (Via Michelle Malkin): McKinney Speaks Monday Morning
U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-4th Ga.) is expected to have something new to say about her run-in with a Capitol police officer at a news conference on Monday morning.
The incident happened last week. McKinney says she was the victim of racial profiling by Capitol police in the incident.
McKinney’s spokespersons say that she will have “something new†to say at a 10:30 a.m. news conference, at the Community Church of Christ on Cascade Road in southwest Atlanta.
How about this MORON shuts her mouth, apologizes, pleads guilty and MOVES ON…….
Will it happen?
Doubtful……..

Iran Nuclear Watch: Iran Tests More Weapons in “War Games”
An Iranian submarine and warship take part in naval manoeuvres in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman April 3, 2006.
Reuters: Iran will test more weapons in Gulf wargames: report
Iran said it would test fire a powerful torpedo on Monday and more missiles on Tuesday as part of a week of wargames in the Gulf, a senior naval officer told state television.
Iran rarely gives enough details of its military hardware for analysts to determine whether Tehran is making genuine advances or simply producing defiant propaganda while pressure ratchets up on its nuclear program.
Although Iran can draw on huge manpower, its naval and air-force technology is largely dismissed as outmoded.
“A powerful torpedo made by experts of the Revolutionary Guards will be test fired today in the Persian Gulf. Tomorrow, we will see other missile test firings by the Revolutionary Guards in the ‘Great Prophet’ war game,” Rear Admiral Dehqani told state television, which only gave his family name.
Iran said in February last year that it had started a mass production line of torpedoes.
More “Winds of War” bloviations and boasting by Iran.
Captain Ed thinks Iran is BLUFFING because of their nuclear program.
Flap is NOT so sure about the bluffing element but is sure that a military operation against Iran will NOT be easy. However, the Iranians should NOT underestimate the will of America in its proclivity to use its nuclear arsenal to destroy military targets or their nuclear facilities.
The Islamic Republic has three elderly Kilo class diesel-electric Russian submarines. These are capable of firing homing torpedoes but military analysts say these vessels are unsuited to modern naval combat.
Iran has also started building midget submarines, which it says are capable of firing torpedoes.
“We are going to have very important news that will make our nation proud in the next few days,” Dehqani added, without explaining. The week of wargames started on Friday.
Stay tuned……
