Canada Watch: Terrorists’ Right To Fly The Friendly Skies in Canada
Toronto Sun: No-fly list to ignore terror ties
Belonging to group won’t be enough to be deemed air threat
Being a member of a terrorist organization won’t necessarily land someone on Canada’s no-fly list, The Canadian Press has learned.
Proposed criteria would limit inclusion on the roster to those who pose “an immediate threat to aviation security,” Transport Canada internal briefing notes say.
Draft regulations, disclosed by a source familiar with details of the plan, confirm the no-fly list will be tightly focused and reviewed every 30 days to keep it up to date.
“You cannot be put on the list on the sole basis that you’re a member of a ‘terrorist group,'” the source said. “In addition, you have to be a demonstrable threat to aviation safety.”
The source said that under the proposed regulations, people involved in a terrorist group — either now or in the past — could be added to the list only if there were reason to suspect they may “compromise civil aviation, the security of any aircraft or aerodrome, or the safety of the public, passengers or crew.”
Does that mean you have to carry a box-cutter and threaten a flight attendant to be a “demonstrable threat to aviation safety?”
Now, we wouldn’t want to inconvenience any terrorists who want to KILL US, would we?
Remind me to not fly to Canada anytime soon and how about an embargo on flights originating in Canada to the United States?

Captain Ed has Canada To Terrorists: Fly The Friendly Skies
Even if one discounted the 9/11 attacks as a warning to Western aviation in general, Canada shows a remarkable lack of concern for their citizens. Terrorists have hijacked airplanes for at least four decades now. Instead of screening people to deny access to acknowledged terrorists, Canada will need to institute stricter gate security and inconvenience everyone — and still won’t be able to guarantee that the known terrorists won’t do something. A member of al-Qaeda could simply pull open a cabin door at 37,000 feet and have a good chance of killing everyone on board.

Isn’t the membership in a terrorist organization ipso facto proof of a threat to aviation?

Iranian leader Ali Khamenei: Hizbullah Will Not Be Disarmed
Following are excerpts from a speech given by Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, which aired on Channel 1, Iranian TV, on July 16, 2006.Ali Khamenei: The Zionists would like Lebanon to be meat between their teeth, so they could do to it whatever they want, whenever they want.Today, the strong arm of the Lebanese resistance and the Lebanese Hizbullah has prevented this nightmare from coming true. This is why the American president says Hizbullah must be disarmed. Yes, of course this is what you want. Of course this is what the Zionists want. But this will not happen. The Lebanese people value Hizbullah and the resistance, because they know it is this strong arm that has prevented the Zionists from doing whatever they want, whenever they want, to Lebanon.
Man in crowd: Hizbullah is victorious. Israel is doomed.
Crowd: Hizbullah is victorious. Israel is doomed.
Hizbullah is victorious. Israel is doomed.
Hizbullah is victorious. Israel is doomed.
Hizbullah is victorious. Israel is doomed.
Ali Khamenei: Well, this is what I am saying too.
Flap doesn’t think so.
But, do you think Hezbollah will be quite so willing to do Iran’s bidding the next time?
NOPE.

Dentistry Today: Baby Teeth May Be Source of Stem Cells
UPI: Baby teeth might be source of stem cells
A Texas company has reportedly started freezing stem cells taken from baby teeth pulp tissue in hopes the cells might some day lead to disease treatments.
BioEden Inc., which opened for business last week, told the Austin (Texas) American-Statesman, it’s betting the science eventually will catch up with its aspirations.
“We are absolutely confident this will work,” Jeff Johnson, president of Austin’s BioEden, told the newspaper. “All indications are this is a wonderful source of stem cells.”
The company said it expects baby teeth stem cells might eventually be used for bone, teeth nerve cell regeneration and even in treating Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
The tooth fairy will now have to pay a premium.

Iran Nuclear Watch: Bush and Putin Concerned Over Iran’s Failure To Respond To P-5-Plus-1 Proposal
President Bush next to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the G8 Summit session in St Petersburg, July 17, 2006.
Reuters: Bush, Putin concerned Iran has not responded
President Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who differ on whether to impose U.N. sanctions on Iran, expressed concern on Monday that Tehran had not responded to an incentives offer.
The two leaders made a show of unity in a joint statement declaring their intention to try to limit the proliferation of nuclear weapons, including in the cases of Iran and North Korea.
“We are especially concerned by the failure of the Iranian government to engage seriously on the proposals” made by the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany, Bush and Putin said.
“The United States and the Russian Federation are actively working for unity among the U.N. Security Council members on these sensitive issues,” the statement said.
A G8 statement on non-proliferation issued late on Sunday hailed the resolution and condemned the missile launches. On Iran, it said members remained seriously concerned over the implications of Tehran’s “advanced nuclear program.”
Putin is probably worried about being paid for Russian nuclear reactor work in Iran. But it is in Russia’s national interest to limit nuclear proliferation – after all what else does Russia have?
Russian and Iranian technicians work inside the reactor building of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, in southern Iran, February 2006.Iran will NEVER accept the P-5-Plus-1 proposal. Iran covets nuclear weapons.
Bush and Putin should be resolved to United Nations Security Council action – for what it is worth.
Stay tuned…….

Senator Joe Lieberman Watch: Bill Clinton Defends Lieberman’s Position on Iraq War
Sen. Joe Lieberman , D-Conn., speaks with reporters during an interview with The Associated Press in Hartford, Conn., Friday, July 14, 2006. Lieberman, facing a strong Democratic primary challenge, said Friday he has nearly $4.3 million cash on hand for his re-election campaign.
AP: Bill Clinton defends Lieberman’s Iraq stance
Former President Bill Clinton is sticking up for U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman and his support of the Iraq war.
Clinton, who spoke at an Aspen Institute conference last week, questioned why Democrats in Connecticut are focusing on ousting a fellow Democrat, Lieberman.
Lieberman faces a stronger-than-expected Aug. 8 primary challenge by Greenwich millionaire businessman Ned Lamont, who has criticized Lieberman for his support of the war and his perceived closeness with Republicans and President Bush.
“If we allow our differences over what to do now in Iraq to divide us instead of focusing on replacing Republicans in Congress; that’s the nuttiest strategy I ever heard in my life,” Clinton told the nonprofit cultural organization.
For once, Slick is RIGHT.
But, the LEFT think that Bill is a HAS-BEEN.

Israel At War Watch: Israel Destroys At Least One Long Range Iranian Missile
AP: Israel: Long-range missile destroyed
An Israeli airstrike in Lebanon on Monday destroyed at least one long-range Iranian missile capable of hitting Tel Aviv, military officials said.
Israeli aircraft targeted a truck carrying the weapons before they could be launched, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of military regulations. The force of the blast sent at least one missile flying into the air, but it fell nearby.
During nearly a week of fighting, Hezbollah militants have fired missiles up to 25 miles into Israel. But officials have raised concerns the guerrilla group could strike Tel Aviv, about 80 miles south of the border with Lebanon.
Do Israeli war plans now include Iran?
First it was Hezbollah-Iranian missile attacks on Israeli gun-ships and now an attack on Israel homeland. How much restraint will Israel show Iran?
Stay tuned…..

Israel At War Watch: Israel Sets Conditions for Cease-Fire
In this photo made available by the Israeli Defense Force, IDF, an artillery unit fires a shell toward south Lebanon from a position in northern Israel, Sunday, July 16, 2006. Hezbollah and Israel traded fierce barrages for a sixth day Monday, as the latest eruption of warfare in the Middle East showed no sign of easing.
AP: Israel sets conditions for cease-fire
Israel would agree to a cease-fire in its six-day-old offensive against Hezbollah if the Lebanese guerrillas withdraw from the border area with Israel and release two captured Israeli soldiers, a senior official said Monday.
The official, who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the diplomacy, said Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had conveyed Israel’s position to Italy’s prime minister, who is trying to broker a cease-fire deal.
Israel had previously demanded the full dismantling of Hezbollah as a condition for ending hostilities. However, the senior official said Israel would agree to Hezbollah merely leaving the border area — with the Lebanese army taking its place.
But, will the puppet masters of terror in Damascus and Tehran agree?
Nope and Captain Ed explains why.

G-8 Summit Watch: President George Bush Curses Hezbollah
U.S. President George W. Bush, left, speaks with World Trade Organization (WTO) chief Pascal Lamy, right, as South African President Thabo Mbeki, center, looks on at the end of a group photo session at the G8 summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, Monday, July 17, 2006.AP: Bush Curses Hezbollah During G8 Luncheon
It wasn’t meant to be overheard. Private luncheon conversations among world leaders, picked up by a microphone, provided a rare window into both banter and substance _ including President Bush cursing Hezbollah’s attacks against Israel.
Bush expressed his frustration with the United Nations and his disgust with the militant Islamic group and its backers in Syria as he talked to British Prime Minister Tony Blair during the closing lunch at the Group of Eight summit.
And maybe the disgust/frustration WAS meant to be heard – especially to get Kofi Annan off his ASS and get busy trying to defuse this situation.
“See the irony is that what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this s— and it’s over,” Bush told Blair as he chewed on a buttered roll.
He told Blair he felt like telling U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, who visited the gathered leaders, to get on the phone with Syrian President Bashar Assad to “make something happen.” He suggested Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice might visit the region soon.
Witnessing the United Nations and its worthless actions towards North Korea and Iran, there is little wonder why President Bush is frustrated with the United Nations. If the United Nations continues to be WORTHLESS, then why belong?
Unless you think this idea by Britain’s Tony Blair has any merit? Ridiculous is more the term……
Michelle and Allah have the video.
Here’s Bush on video cursing Hezbollah. Sometimes, profanity is called for.
