Howard Dean Watch: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki an “Anti-Semite”

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean speaks at the College Democrats National Convention on Thursday, July 20, 2006, at Saint Louis University in St. Louis. Winning votes in the Midwest will be critical if Democrats hope to regain power in Washington in November, Dean said.

AP: Dean calls Iraqi PM an ‘anti-Semite’

Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean on Wednesday called Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki an “anti-Semite” for failing to denounce Hezbollah for its attacks against Israel.

Al-Maliki has condemned Israel’s offensive, prompting several Democrats to boycott his address to a joint meeting of Congress and others to criticize him. Dean’s comments were the strongest to date.

“The Iraqi prime minister is an anti-Semite,” the Democratic leader told a gathering of business leaders in Florida. “We don’t need to spend $200 and $300 and $500 billion bringing democracy to Iraq to turn it over to people who believe that Israel doesn’t have a right to defend itself and who refuse to condemn Hezbollah.”

Outside the Beltway has the video here.

Bet you cannot find another Democrat in the House or Senate that will support this.

Howard Dean is the gift that keeps on giving to the GOP…..

Cindy Sheehan Watch: What A FAST? Part II

Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjiman, center, sits with Cindy Sheehan, center right, and others who are taking part in the ‘Bring the Troops Home Fast’ hunger strike at Layafette Park in front of the White House, Tuesday, July 4, 2006, in Washington.

    Remember the Committment?

Peace activist Cindy Sheehan, left, is conforted by Iraqi War veteran, former Army Sgt. Geoffrey Millard, as they say prayers, before they eat their last meal before beginning the fast at midnight to end the Iraq War, in front of the White House, Monday, July 3, 2006, in Washington.

And the lack of committment on Georgia election night with Cynthia McKinney:

And Allah is correct: Isn’t Cindy Sheehan supposed to be FASTING?

Now, it is getting ridiculous. It looks to Flap and Michelle Malkin that Cindy has actually gained weight with all of this fasting:

After all, if you are committed, then you are COMMITTED?

    Right?

Israel at War Watch: Iran’s President Ahmadinejad Presses for Israeli- Hezbollah Cease-Fire

    israelATWARweb

AP: Ahmadinejad calls for Lebanon cease-fire

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for a cease-fire in Lebanon and criticized U.S. policy in the Middle East on Wednesday, saying Washington wants to “recarve the map” of the region with Israel’s help.

Ahmadinejad’s nation is a major backer of Hezbollah and a sworn enemy of Israel, but he denied that Tehran provides military support to the militant group.

Ahmadinejad is a LIAR too. Iran has sold or given Hezbollah hundreds, if not thousands of Katyusha rockets that have been used to shell Israel. And there were elite Iranian military involved in the Hezbollah missile attack upon one of Israeli ships.

In addition to a cease-fire, Ahmadinejad called for talks on the Lebanon crisis without conditions and demanded Israel compensate the country and apologize for its actions.

He said Iran only supports Hezbollah politically and morally.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, gestures in Dushanbe, Tajikstan Wednesday, July 26, 2006. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday opened an Iranian-financed tunnel improving connections between Tajikistan’s north and the capital region. The opening came amid Ahmadinejad’s two-day visit to the impoverished former Soviet Central Asian republic, which also is to include a meeting with visiting Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday.

Right, as if this will ever happen.

Ahmadinejad bloviates more and contributes what?

    Oh, yes, volunteer jihadists……

However, more than 60 Iranian volunteers set off from Iran on Wednesday in what they called a holy war against Israeli forces in Lebanon.

The volunteers — ranging from teenagers to grandfathers — plan to join about 200 others on the way to the Turkish border, which they hope to cross Thursday. They plan to reach Lebanon via Syria on the weekend.

Organizers said the volunteers are carrying no weapons, and it was not clear whether Turkey would allow them to pass.

A Turkish Foreign Ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, would not say Wednesday if Turkey would allow them to cross. Iranians, however, can enter Turkey without a visa and stay for three months.

Iran says it will not send regular forces to aid Hezbollah, but apparently it will not attempt to stop volunteer guerrillas. Iran and Syria are Hezbollah’s main sponsors.

This must be of great comfort to Nasrallah and the Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon. But, since their Syrian re-supply lines have been bombed by the Israelis these volunteers are about all they will get unless Ahmadinejad puts his money/military where his mouth is.

    Stay tuned…..

California Election 2006 Watch: Schwarzenegger Heckled on Campaign Bus Tour by People Upset with his Anti-illegal Immigration Positions

    arnoldjuly26aweb

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger puts his arm around a woman who confronted him during his campaign bus tour Tuesday, July 25, 2006, in La Mesa, Calif. The woman would only identify herself as Kelly.

    AP: Schwarzenegger Heckled on Immigration

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s campaign bus tour hit a pot hole on its very first stop: a town hall meeting Tuesday at which the governor was heckled by people upset with his position on illegal immigration.

The hot-button issue was a theme of a day on which Schwarzenegger emphatically distanced himself from a 1994 ballot proposition, saying “I was wrong” to support a measure that sought to deny illegal immigrants many government services.

Governor Schwarzenegger has been all over the map with pronouncements on illegal aliens/immigration while pandering to the Hispanic Democrat Left for votes. Does he have a consistent position?

    NOPE

Does it matter this election cycle?

Maybe, if Phil Angelides can use his recent Flip-Flop to his advantage.

    Remember this about Arnold:

First, he was with the Minutemen. Then, he was against a border wall. And he BLAMED the federal government for inaction.

    And…….now what?

    arnoldjune17aweb600

Governor: My vote for Prop. 187 was ‘wrong’

In his clearest statement to date, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger renounced his one-time support for the anti-illegal immigrant Proposition 187 by calling his 1994 vote “wrong,” according to an interview published Tuesday by the Spanish-language newspaper La Opinion.

In the same interview, the Republican governor downplayed his past praise of the Minutemen, the brigade of private citizens that has tried to stop illegal immigrants from crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

Schwarzenegger said during his successful 2003 recall campaign that he had voted in 1994 for Proposition 187, which was intended to prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining public services, including education and health care. The initiative passed overwhelmingly but was overturned by courts.

But in his Monday interview with La Opinion, Schwarzenegger said, “I think, looking back, it was the wrong decision.”

The governor also reiterated that he had proposed $23 million for counties to spend on health care for undocumented children, a move that contradicted the spirit of Proposition 187. But Schwarzenegger and legislative Democrats removed the funding in late June as part of a budget compromise with Republicans.

The Governator foremost wants to be re-elected. He does not want to be Jesse Ventura who left the Minnesota Governorship in disgrace. After all, Arnold is the star and Jesse was a bit player. And Schwarzenegger will do whatever it takes to win – including pandering to Hispanics for their votes.

    What can conservatives do?

    Not much.

Phil Angelides is so far to the left that no matter what he does it will not persuade many conservative and moderate GOP voters to vote for him.

Arnold is a RINO – Republican in Name Only. Conservatives and some in the GOP will have to swallow hard to support/vote for him in November. But, with Angelides calling for Gay Marriage and more taxes on a vibrant California economy, it will not be too hard.

A lesson to the California GOP: develop a “deep bench” so that you do not get stuck with the likes of Arnold again.
