The Path to 9/11 Watch: ABC Airs 9/11 Series With Some Changes

AP : ABC Airs 9/11 Series Despite Criticism

ABC moved forward with its miniseries “The Path to 9/11” on Sunday despite angry calls from former Clinton administration officials not to air it because it contained fabricated scenes about their actions prior to terrorist attacks.

ABC’s editing of the five-hour movie, airing on two successive nights starting Sunday, was evident from the very beginning. Twice, the network de-emphasized the role of the 9/11 commission’s final report as source material for the film.

A disclaimer emphasizes the movie is not a documentary.

“For dramatic and narrative purposes the movie contains fictionalized scenes, composite and representative characters and dialogue, as well as time compression,” the note, which ran as the miniseries began, said.

The note said the material is “drawn from a variety of sources including the 9/11 commission report and other published materials and from personal interviews.” The note differed from a version distributed to critics several weeks ago that said the dramatization “is based on the 9/11 commission report and other published sources and personal interviews.

Flap viewed the series tonight and it is obvious why Slick did not want the movie aired. Bill Clinton better get over it. This is an important story and Bill Clinton’s FECKLESS role is important to understand.

The Nightline segment after tonight’s airing featured Richard Clark, counter-terrorism adviser on the U.S. National Security Council when the September 11, 2001 attacks occurred. The segment while discussing/lamenting the fact that UBL is still at large did not provide much new information.

The Clinton Cabal should be embarassed for their disgraceful conduct in trying to censure this series. The Clintonista’s controversial segments were a small portion of the overall series.

The series continues tomorrow evening.
