Muhammad Danish Cartoon Watch: Danish TV Airs Video of Prophet As Beer-drinking Camel
Denmark’s national TV2 channel broadcast Friday excerpts from a video made by members of an extreme-right party showing the Prophet Mohammed as a beer-drinking camel and a drunken terrorist attacking Copenhagen.
Middle East Times: Danish TV airs video of Prophet as beer-drinking camel
Filmed in August, the video shows young adherents of the Danish People’s Party (DPP) mocking the Islamic Prophet during a summer party, with some portraying Mohammed dressed in a turban and wearing a belt with explosives as others look on in laughter.
The images were shown on TV2 only fleetingly, with a youth playing the part of Mohammed visible only from the back, as well as a drawing.
The editor in chief of the television station, Lars Bennike, emphasized that the purpose of “showing the short video sequence was not at all to show the drawings or the antics of the youths” in the DPP.
“Our decision to broadcast this sequence was only due to the fact that the president of the youth branch of the party has distanced himself from this gathering,” he said. “We thought it was interesting politically and that this justified showing the video,” he added.
The participants in the August gathering were holding an informal competition to see who could draw the Prophet in the most humiliating and laughable manner. A song playing in the background contains the lyrics, “The camel Mohammed has four beers …”
The video was filmed by a member of the party’s youth wing, Martin Rosengaard Knudsen, also a member of the artists’ group called “Defending Denmark.”
Here we go again……
The president of the DPP Youth, Kenneth Kristensen, who did not participate in the party, criticized their behavior as “inconvenient.”
“It is not my kind of humor, and things would not have happened like that had I been present,” he told the Nyhedsavisen newspaper, a daily free sheet. “This kind of gathering should not occur again,” he added.
The publication in September last year of 12 caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, followed by the reprinting of the cartoons in dozens of other mostly European newspapers, sparked outrage and weeks of violent protests throughout the Muslim world, leading to several deaths.
Allah is on the story of Cartoon Jihad 2.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s burnings and protests…….AP has the story here: Danish party regrets mocking by youth
Video showing young members of a populist political party mocking the Prophet Muhammad has surfaced on Web sites, prompting the head of the Danish party’s youth wing to express regret Friday.
But Kenneth Kristensen, chairman of the Danish People’s Party Youth, known for its anti-immigration stance, refused to apologize for the actions of its members at a summer camp in August, although he acknowledged they were problematic.
“It is bad style because it overshadows our political line,” Kristensen told The Associated Press.
He added that he believed it “is OK to poke fun at Muhammad, Jesus or Bill Clinton. We must not put limits on ourselves.”
Flap thinks the Muslim others will not feel likewise……

Iran Nuclear Watch: P-5-Plus-1 To Pursue Sanctions Against Iran
Britain’s Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett, right, sits beside European foreign policy chief Javier Solana, left, as they sit round a table at the start of a meeting in London, Friday, Oct. 6, 2006. Solana is expected to brief high-level officials from the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China on the details of his stalled nuclear talks with Iran, and the group will discuss the possibility of sanctions against Iran.
AP: Nations to pursue sanctions against Iran
Six world powers agreed Friday to pursue possible U.N. sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program, but left crucial questions about the scope and timing of any measures unresolved.
Top diplomats from the United States, Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia said in a joint statement after talks in London that they were “deeply disappointed” by Tehran’s refusal to suspend uranium enrichment, a key step toward making nuclear weapons.
Apparently divided about how quickly to move, the envoys stopped short of explicitly declaring European negotiations with Iran a failure, as some had expected them to do.
Their statement also shied away from demanding Tehran be punished by the U.N. Security Council, but said they would discuss sanctions in talks at the U.N.
Weak Sauce and the Mullahs are laughing in Tehran as their uranium centrifuges spin at Natanz.
And what about the United States response?
U.S. Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns went further.
“The decision has been made that we’ll go for sanctions, the question is what the sanctions will be,” he said after the meeting. “In the view of the United States, we have to move for sanctions to raise the stakes for Iran.”
Weak response as well.
What is next?
Beckett said the six powers “will now consult on measures under Article 41 of Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter.” Article 41 authorizes the Security Council to impose nonmilitary sanctions such as completely or partially severing diplomatic and economic relations, transportation and communications links.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the discussions on how to win Iranian compliance would take place at the Security Council, Russian news agencies reported. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told ZDF television the powers would begin drafting a resolution.
Burns said political directors of the six nations’ foreign ministries would hold a videoconference Tuesday or Wednesday, and their U.N. ambassadors would then meet, probably the following day.
Britain’s U.N. ambassador said Thursday that he expected “the Iran dossier” to return to the Security Council in the next week, but Beckett set no timeframe for action.
Move it along, folks, to the United Nations Security Council. Iran is now three months closer to mastering the uranium fuel cycle than prior to beginning the latest round of fruitless P-5-Plus-1 negotiations.
Stay tuned……

Michael Ramirez on North Korea’s Nuclear Test
AP: N. Korea urged to abandon atomic weapons
With speculation mounting of a North Korean nuclear test as early as this weekend, a unanimous U.N. Security Council urged the secretive, communist nation Friday to abandon all atomic weapons as it promised last year and cancel plans to detonate a device. Japan hinted the North could face sanctions or possible military action.
With tensions rising, North Korean leader Kim Jong Il met hundreds of his top military commanders and urged them to bolster the nation’s defenses, as officers cheered, “Fight at the cost of our lives!” the North’s official Korean Central News Agency reported earlier Friday.
A North Korea expert in China, the North’s closest ally, said only the removal of American economic sanctions against Pyongyang could dissuade the country from carrying out a nuclear test.
“North Korea has already made a decision to carry out a test,” said Li Dunqiu, of China’s State Council Development Research Center, a Cabinet-level think tank. But “if the U.S. removes sanctions … then tensions can be eased. Otherwise launching a nuclear test is unavoidable for North Korea.”
The North Koreans and Kim Jong-Il must perceive the United States as WEAK.
They have UNDERESTIMATED the United States and our allies.

Air America Watch: Charity Funds Diverted To Air America
Authorities Say Money Meant For Boys And Girls Club Went To Liberal Radio Network ‘Air America’
CBS: Charge: Charity Funds Diverted To Air America
Two former executives at a government-funded youth organization whose finances were scrutinized after it diverted money to the liberal radio network Air America were charged Thursday with misappropriating $1.2 million of the non-profit’s funds.
Charles Rosen, a former executive director at the Gloria Wise Community Center, and his former assistant director, Jeffrey Aulenbach, face charges of grand larceny and obstructing governmental administration. Rosen was also charged with forgery.
New York City’s Department of Investigation, which investigated the nonprofit for two years, said the men improperly took more than $290,000 from the organization for their personal use, on top of their already unusually large salaries.
The money — described in the non-profit’s books as business expenses — went to pay for home renovations and furnishings and new cars, among other things, according to a Department of Investigation report released Thursday.
City investigators said the pair also improperly transferred $875,000 to Air America, which was co-founded by one of Gloria Wise’s executives.
Well, fancy that.

Finally after a year and the theft from a children’s charity there is some justice and coverage from the MSM.
And Al Franken and Randi Rhodes have continued to draw their bloated salaries.

NOPE.
And when will Air America Executives be indicted?
SOON!

France Immigration Watch: France Retreats on Immigrants
France’s Communist Party leader Marie-Georges Buffet, Revolutionary Communist League leader Olivier Besancenot, Green party deputy leader Noel Mamere, and leader of France’s Lutte Ouvriere extreme-left party Arlette Laguiller (L-R) attend a news conference outside a school gym where hundreds of African immigrants camp after they were evicted from France’s largest squat in August in Cachan, south of Paris, September 25, 2006. The families refused temporary lodging in hotels, fuelling a heated debate about the immigration policies of Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy ahead of the 2007 presidential election.
International Herald Tribune: France retreats on immigrants
A fierce standoff between the French authorities and about 300 illegal African immigrants crowded into a suburban school gymnasium outside Paris eased Thursday with a tentative deal for housing and other concessions.
Nicolas Sarkozy, the interior minister and a candidate for president in France’s next election, had accused political groups of exploiting the misery of the immigrants. But it was his office that ultimately backed down and negotiated the accord with anti-racism associations as mediators.
Oh, the French deal with illegal immigration in the manner of the grand socialist state.
Flap supposes Sarko doesn’t remember this:
A fireman tries to put out a burning car set ablaze by rioters in ‘La Reynerie’, a popular neighbourhood of Toulouse, south western France. Amid fears that suburban rioters might be planning to bring violence into the capital over a holiday weekend, French police imposed a short-term ban on public meetings in Paris.
The agreement provides the families with temporary housing, a review of their applications for residency papers and promises not to expel them from France during the examination.
Six men have been on hunger strike for almost 45 days and two are now in a hospital in critical condition.
The other four rested Thursday morning weakly on mattresses in a gymnasium changing room decorated with a poster of them and the words: “Are we going to let them die?”
By late afternoon, Agence France- Presse reported that the strikers had begun to take nourishment because of the accord, which came about only after Sarkozy clashed with political opponents this week over the festering situation in Cachan.
Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin declared Wednesday that, with France known as a land of asylum, the situation was “not acceptable in a country like ours.”
The French retreat again and will suffer the consequences of a permanent Muslim immigrant underclass.
Oh Well
Mark Steyn says the Europeans are GONERS.
But, by the looks of things the United States is not doing so well on their illegal immigration plans either.
Stay tuned…….

Iran Nuclear Watch: U.K. Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett – Iran-EU Nuclear Talks Have FAILED
Update:
Russia Opposes Ultimatum on Iran
Reuters: Russia opposes ultimatum on Iran, major powers meet
Russia said it agreed with China no ultimatum should be issued to Iran over its nuclear programme, underlining divisions as world powers met on Friday to discuss U.S. and British proposals for possible sanctions.
The United States, backed by Britain, has suggested it is time to consider a U.N. Security Council resolution to impose sanctions after four months of talks between the EU and Tehran failed to yield an Iranian promise to halt atomic work.
But Russia and China, two of the six powers, agreed it was
“absolutely unacceptable” to threaten force against Iran and
that talk of ultimatums was counter-productive, Russian Deputy
Foreign Minister Alexander Alexeyev was quoted as saying.John Bolton should immediately push for United Nations Security Council consideration of economic sanctions for Iran. China and Russia should be made to VETO any resolution. And then be done with the United Nations and EU Iran negotiations. They have been meaningless and fruitless.
The United States should next expeditiously enforce the Iran freedom Support Act and along with Britain impose their own sanctions.
In the meantime, prepare the military for the upcoming confrontation.
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is seen in this September 19, 2006 file photo. World powers meeting in London on Friday are likely to agree on the principle of imposing sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program but not to approve specific language, a U.S. official said.
Bloomberg: EU Talks With Iran on Nuclear Program Have Failed, U.K. Says
European Union talks with Iran on restricting the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program have failed, U.K. Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett said.
“So far they have not been successful and it looks like they won’t be successful,” said Beckett on her way into a meeting in London with foreign ministers from the other five nations negotiating with Iran.
The U.S. and European Union say Iran’s nuclear power program is aimed at developing weapons, which would put it in breach of treaty obligations and risk escalating tensions in the Middle East. The U.S. is pushing for economic sanctions to discourage the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear arms.
Russia, which has veto power as one of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, yesterday reiterated its opposition to immediate sanctions.
Beckett said she doesn’t expect major decisions from today’s meeting.
A public acknowledgement from Britain over the failure of Iran nuclear negotiations. Where has the U.K been the past few months/years?
Former U.K foreign secretary Jack Straw has been renown as an APOLOGIST for the Mullahs.
The P-5-Plus-1 negotiations have been fruitless and a waste of time.
Any further talks should be at the United Nations Security Council where the United States and the United Kingdom should call for a series of sanction votes. Of course, France, Russia and China will moan and threaten vetoes – but the USA and UK should press the votes anyway and force them to VETO tough and meaningful Iran sanctions.
When the “POINT OF NO RETURN” is reached – the United States and Israel will decide if Iran is a nuclear hegemon or not.
Stay tuned……
