EU admits Iran nuke talks have failed.

Iran to EU: you will lose if you back U.N. sanctions.

Ahmadinejad: Israel “Cannot Survive,” Iran’s Enemies Are “Paralyzed”

Iran Nuclear Watch: Ahmadinejad – Iran Will NOT Back Down “An Inch”

So, how long do you think Israel would last after Iran fabricates a nuclear weapon?

NOT LONG

Iran would at the least nuclear blackmail Israel into ordering the Jews to leave Palestine or face a nuclear holocaust.

Negotiations are OVER with Ahmadinejad and the Iranian Mullahs.

When the “POINT OF NO RETURN” is reached, military action against Iran by the United States and Israel will commence.

  1. Oh, come on. Israel has about 400 nukes and the means to deliver them anywhere in Iran. Iran can only hope that it will force all future Israeli wars to remain conventional. That may not be to Israel’s liking, but the US just has to hope that they don’t do anything foolish about it – Iran could start *really* supporting Iraqi insurgents. Iran wants to become a regional power. Thanks to the US, that will be possible in Iraq now, and likely in Afghanistan. Bush blew that one big time, by not planning for a long Iraq war.

  2. Endo,

And you really want a nut job like Crazy Mahmoud to have nukes?

Iran is already a hegemon for the region and Iranian nuclear weapons would spur an arms race with Egypt and Saudi Arabia demanding a nuclear deterrent.

Israel probably has a 100 nukes or so, but, so what? Israel is a small country and needs the deterrent from hostile neighbors.

FYI – Iran is already supporting the militias in Iraq.

    Are you a BDS nutter?

  3. Merely pointing out that Iran having nukes is not an existential threat to Israel.

Iran is a lot saner than Israel, BTW. Ahmedinedjad isn’t some genocidal maniac like Sharon, nor do they think indiscriminantly bombing an entire country in response to a hostage taking is reasonable. I don’t think he’s going for nukes, he’s going for “strategic ambiguity”. That will stop Israel, Pakistan and the US from threatening blunt military action, and leave only diplomacy and small-scale conventional violence. And in those fields, Iran has shown that it can beat the US every time, everywhere. Especially when there are Republicans in charge.

Sorry, no idea what BDS stands for.

  4. Oh No?

And Crazy Mahmoud’s references to “Wiping Israel off the Map?”

    Tell me.

Do you believe Israel has a right to exist?

    BDS = Bush Derangement Syndrome

  5. There should be a country where Israel is now. It should be free of racial preference. The refugees from the ethnical cleansing of the late fourties should receive compensation and the right to return to the homeland from which they were evicted a few decades ago.

Every Israeli should be allowed to stay, unless they are occupying stolen property, in which case they should be given compensation and be relocated to another part of the country (if the original owners can be found).

But you can’t expect Palestinians to pay for the sins of the Germans. Creating a modern, western country, in stead of a “Jewish state”, where Israel is now (including some of the occupied territories), amounts to “wiping Israel of the map”. But just like South Africa abandoning apartheid destroyed South Africa as a symbol of racial injustice, without destroying South Africa as a country.

But quotes are so much fun, aren’t they. How about these:

“It is a tragedy what the Armenians went through but not a genocide.” [Shimon Perez denying that the Turks committed genocide in Armenia]

“This notion that the United States is getting ready to attack Iran is simply ridiculous. And having said that, all options are on the table.” [Bush threatening to attack Iran]

“Free nations don’t develop weapons of mass destruction” [Bush admitting that the US is not a free nation]

“You cannot like the word, but what is happening is an occupation — to hold 3.5 million Palestinians under occupation. I believe that is a terrible thing for Israel and for the Palestinians.” [Ariel Sharon, 2003]
