Calif. governor to have surgery on right femur after Sun Valley accident
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger broke his leg while skiing with his family Saturday morning, a spokesman said.
Schwarzenegger was taken to a local hospital for X-rays and was soon discharged with a fracture to his right femur, said Adam Mendelsohn, the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications.
Schwarzenegger would have surgery to repair his femur when he returns to Los Angeles from his scheduled Christmas trip, Mendelsohn said. The governor remained at his Sun Valley home Saturday night and still planned to spend the holiday there.
Ouch and best wishes to the Governor for a speedy recovery.
An inauguration (January 5th) on crutches?

Glenn McCoy on Sandy Berger and Bill Clinton
AP: Report Says Berger Hid Archive Documents
President Clinton’s national security adviser removed classified documents from the National Archives, hid them under a construction trailer and later tried to find the trash collector to retrieve them, the agency’s internal watchdog said Wednesday.
The report was issued more than a year after Sandy Berger pleaded guilty and received a criminal sentence for removing the documents.
Berger took the documents in the fall of 2003 while working to prepare himself and Clinton administration witnesses for testimony to the Sept. 11 commission. Berger was authorized as the Clinton administration’s representative to make sure the commission got the correct classified materials.
Berger’s lawyer, Lanny Breuer, said in a statement that the contents of all the documents exist today and were made available to the commission.
But Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., outgoing chairman of the House Government Reform Committee, said he’s not convinced that the Archives can account for all the documents taken by Berger. Davis said working papers of National Security Council staff members are not inventoried by the Archives.
“There is absolutely no way to determine if Berger swiped any of these original documents. Consequently, there is no way to ever know if the 9/11 Commission received all required materials,†Davis said.
This former National Security Advisor for President Clinton should be barred from ever dealing with classified documents again. Three years was NOT long enough of a ban.
Remember when Bill Clinton had a damn shit fit when the TV docu-drama, The Path to 9/11 aired? And that he bitched all over the place that he tried – after Berger stole documents that would implicate Clinton and himself before the 9/11 Commission with regards to Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda. America will NEVER know the role these characters played in pre-9/11 anti-terror activities, if ANY.
Sandy Berger = THIEF
The Inspector General’s Report is here (H/T Allah)

Iran Nuclear Watch: United Nations Security Council Approves Iran Sanctions
Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin(C) walks to Security Council for a meeting on Iran at United Nations headquarters in New York City. The Security Council slapped the first ever UN sanctions on Iran, targeting its nuclear and ballistic missile programs in response to its refusal to halt sensitive nuclear fuel work.
AP: Security Council approves Iran sanctions
The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Saturday to impose economic sanctions on
Iran for refusing to end a uranium enrichment program that the United States says is aimed at building nuclear weapons. Iran immediately rejected the resolution. The result of two months of negotiation, the resolution orders all countries to stop supplying Iran with materials and technology that could contribute to its nuclear and missile programs. It also would freeze Iranian assets of key companies and individuals related to those programs.
If Iran refuses to comply, the resolution warns Iran that the council will adopt further nonmilitary sanctions. The Iranian government immediately rejected the resolution, vowing in a statement from Tehran to continue enriching uranium and saying it “has not delegated its destiny to the invalid decisions of the U.N. Security Council.”
The Bush administration said it hopes the resolution will clear the way for tougher measures by individual countries, particularly Russia.
“We don’t think this resolution is enough in itself,” Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns said. “We want to let the Iranians know that there is a big cost to them,” he added, so they will return to talks.
As Flap has said over and over – NO MEANINGFUL SANCTIONS will come out of the UNSC.
Allah agrees over at Hot Air.
Iran will publicly decry this ILLEGAL move by the United Nations but will continue on its merry way in enriching uranium at Natanz and other secret locations.
With this charade at the UNSC out of the way, the United States and Israel can now return to the ultimate plan – TO DENY IRAN NUCLEAR WEAPONS BY FORCE.
Stay tuned……
