By the way, did I just read this article in a different way then you? I don’t see what ticked you off beyond the title. It seems the article is a reminder who we are fighting against.
Prove I don’t hate America? I think you missed my point. I felt like discussing the article and you labeled me an America hater. I thought your writing was unclear. Are you saying the writer supports the insurgents in Iraq? The article quotes Thomas Friedman that the groups that are trying to take over Iraq are not nationalists but instead Islamic Extremists. I tend to agree with that point of view.
But anyways, I don’t know why or how I would go about proving I love America. Is it a multiple choice test or a free response essay?
Did you know anyone can post on dailykos.com ? If you click on your own link you will see many people shooting that guy and his logic down.
It seems that a piece by piece dissection of his logic and pointing out flaws in it are taking part on dailykos.com but not here. Sadly, we are debating who loves America. America loves debate and democracy. You don’t. Does that mean you hate democracy? Prove otherwise.
Au contrair…..seems you just like to be a LEFTY troll.
So, do you agree with the writer that the Iraq War is illegal and immoral?
Do you support the troops…..or are you a Bush hater like the rest of the Kossaks.
What about this?
“….The issue of “supporting the troops” is a sensitive one – families who have sons or daughters serving in Iraq do not want to hear that attacks on them may be justified. That is completely understandable – the soldiers serving in Iraq are just kids, often from a deprived background, who trusted and were let down by their governments who sent them into an illegal and immoral war of choice…”
Do you believe the attacks by Iraqi insurgents on American troops are justified?
Maybe it is in the way I view the link. What I see is a discussion between many writers. You only see the writer that started the topic. I don;t see how you say Screw them to people that agree with you ( those tearing the piece apart ).
Flap, I think you are way off base here. I supported John McCain in the 2000 primaries. Your attempt at guilt by association is crazy.
I support the troops and by no means think the attacks on them by Iraqi’s is morally acceptable. The best hope for Iraq is a democracy that respects a difference of opinion without insulting or attacking others. All sides must believe and be shown their government will help protect them. The sooner the sides in Iraq reconcile the better it would be for all involved including America, the ME region, and all the innocent people being caught in the crossfire.
I think your false choice between supporting President Bush and the troops on one hand ( what you do) and not supporting President Bush and the troops is a false and divisive choice. We should not needlessly divide ourselves in times of war and we should not label a whole segment of the population traitors and troop haters because they disagree with the president. Do you throw Chuck Hagel in with this group? Colin Powell?
I think because of UN resolutions and the US congressional resolutions the war is clearly legal.
I take heart in the many voices reminding the writer ( the Kossacks that you are attacking) that disagree with the writer.
My biggest fear is the genocide that could take place if America left Iraq with a government that is not able to provide security. Maybe some of the Iraq Study Group’s ideas could help out ( I know a bunch of Bush hating, Kossacks, lefty trolls, who hate the troops, blinded by BDS, etc.) in ending the war.
This “Flap” guy is the reason we are losing the war in Iraq. At every chance they get they seek to break our country in two. Someone asks a question to clarify and Flap asks if they want America to lose.
With people like Flap you can’t question even if you agree but are confused what the guy is saying without being called a traitor.
I want America to win but with people like Flap it will be hard.

What happened to the Tony Strickland story?

I meant to say why is it closed for comments?
Flap
Which Tony Strickland story?
Flap
Of course, Brian you would read the story another way. You hate America and President Bush like the other Kossaks.
So, what is new?
Brian
I know it is your blog, but your own comments policy says to attack the thoughts not the commentator.
Claiming I hate America is not just crazy and rude, but strange being that I was trying to be polite.
Flap
It was a collective you and now you moan. Prove that you do not hate America or suffer from BDS and I might change my mind.
Does anyone want to take bets?
Brian

It is the way you read the link……
Remember Kos’s comment “Screw Them?”
I disagreed with the author of the piece. He believes insurgent attacks on American soldiers are justified.
Do you?

I also disagree with the major ideas behind the author’s point of view. If you think I hate America and you agree with me…
Brian
BTW, I am looking for a Rudy blogger for a regualr gig on another site. E-mail me if you know any local Rudy supporters.
Brian
Check your e-mail.

You assume to much…….
But, most of my center-right friends don’t hang out at the Daily Kos…..

Stop stalking the former Mayor of New York!

Yeah right Flap is losing the war in Iraq.
