Jimmy Carter Watch: Bush Administration is “The Worst in History” Part 2

cox&forkum07.05.21web

Now, former President Jimmy Carter is showing remorse for calling the Bush Administration “the worst in history.”

“My remarks were maybe careless or misinterpreted but I wasn’t comparing the overall administration and certainly not talking about anyone personally,” Carter said in an interview Monday when asked to explain.

The comments “were interpreted as comparing this whole administration to all other administrations when what I was actually doing was responding to a question about foreign policy between [President Richard] Nixon and this administration, and I think that this administration’s foreign policy compared to Nixon’s was much worse. … I wasn’t comparing this administration with other administrations throughout history but just with President Nixon’s,” he told NBC’s “The Today Show.”

Carter, whose administration was plagued by sky-high inflation and a 444-day American hostage crisis in Iran, was filling in a quote Saturday in which he said, “I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history.”

Guess Jimmy still wants to be invited to events at the White House.

This peanut farmer is as big a MORON as he was when he was fighting that rabbitt when he was President.

sure jimmmy carter had problems with iran and there was an oil crisis…he did not however launch a war which killed hundreds of thousands of innocent iraqis and at a tremendous cost…while the country was humiliated by the ayatollah, few people lost their lives, and eventually the hostages were released…the hostage taking was the result of an islamic revolution in iran…the present leader of iran took part in this…iran continues to antagonize the u.s. even under bush…invading iraq has not improved a thing with iran or the middle east…

Bruce you are wrong on the facts of the Iraq War and Carter’s botching of the Iran Hostage crisis has emboldened Iran that among other things support Iraqi insurgents who are killing American soldiers and are developing nuclear weapons in order to wipe Israel off the map.

I remember the oil crisis and the gas lines and the malaise.

One good thing about Carter: he opened the door to Ronald Reagan.

Too bad Carter felt intimidated into backing off his statement because it’s absolutely true. Bush is the worse president in American history. I would go further and say I hope he is the worse possible president, because I would hate to think that someone could be elected who would be even worse. But Carter backed off. He is, after all, 80 or more. Right? A little frail, perhaps. But his judgment is still more sound than most Republicans half his age.
