Rudy Giuliani Watch: I’ll Stop the Invasion
I’ll Stop the Illegal Alien Invasion
Flap believes Rudy is committed to the task.
Today the Mayor was interviewed by Keven Cohen on WVOC-Columbia:
GIULIANI: “Well that’s what I’ve been talking about today. It’s one of my Twelve Commitments to the American People; each week this summer we’re focusing on a different one to try to explain it a little better. The second commitment of my Twelve Commitments is to end illegal immigration. And the way we would do that is to build the physical fence of 700 miles, fill in the other 1200 miles on the southwest border with a technological fence, hire more border patrol, deploy them in substations that would have them no more than 25 to 50 miles away from any point on the border. And then use the technological equipment, the camera equipment, the heat seeking equipment, the motion sensor equipment to alert the border patrol so they can be there and stop people from coming into the country. And then we’d have a tamper-proof ID card for every person who comes into this country from a foreign country. Tamper-proof means not only the photograph but also biometric data so that we can know everybody who’s s in this country. The goal has to be that we have to identify everyone coming into this country from a foreign country, otherwise you’re not allowed in the country.†…
Rudy identified the problem in 1996 and had no cooperation from the CLINTON Administration:
Count on illegal immigration reform with this President – and it is about damn time.

Mitt Romney Watch: Romney HYPOCRITICAL on Illegal Immigration Sanctuary Cities
Republican presidential hopeful former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney stands in front of the fence separating the United States from Mexico while answering questions concerning his immigration policy during a visit Monday Aug. 13, 2007 in San Diego. Romney is flanked by campaign aide Tony Strickland, left, and Calif. State Senator Mark Wyland.
Last week Mitt Romney criticized Mayor Rudy Giuliani on the illegal immigration issue and the fact that New York City was a so-called “sanctuary city” during Rudy’s tenure as Mayor.
If you remember, Flap called Romney a HYPOCRITE for his outburst. And why?
1. Illegal Alien Guatemalans mowing his mansion grounds for ten years.
2. While Romney was governor, the commonwealth of Massachusetts became one of the six states with the largest growth in unauthorized migrant population, from 2002 to 2004, according to the Pew Hispanic Center, with somewhere between 200,000-250,000 new illegal immigrants.

3. In the past, Governor Romney supported more LIBERAL positions on illegal immigration than the 2007 recently failed Kennedy-McCain legislation. In fact, he supported President Bush and Senator McCain’s efforts to change current law in favor of “AMNESTY.â€
4. And here is Mitt Romney FLIP – FLOPPING on illegal immigration positions:

Say what?
“Romney’s being a hypocrite on this issue,” said Joseph Curtatone, the Democratic mayor of Somerville since 2004. “I did not receive any mandate, any communication, anything at all from him about this. If it’s so important to him why didn’t he have the state police enforcing it?”
Curtatone, president of the Massachusetts Mayors Association, adds that his May 2006 declaration of Somerville as a “city of hope” committed to providing services to illegal immigrants was just official recognition of what exists everywhere in his state.
“I don’t know of any community in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts — whether by official declaration or by their action — who has not adopted the same policy,” he said. I never heard Gov. Romney bring it up one way or another.”
So, is Romney flipping on sanctuary cities, or being dishonestly hypocritical AGAIN?
Mitt Romney = HYPOCRITE
Mitt Romney = WRONG for America
More Mitt Oddities:
Scientology book one of his favorites
None of Mitt’s five adult sons had served in the military
Mitt get off the California and Mexico border. You supported Amnesty and allowed sanctuary cities when it was expedient politically for you to do so.
Please do not embarass yourself any more.

Rudy Giuliani Watch: Rudy and Huckabee To Be 2008 GOP Presidential Ticket?
Republican presidential hopefuls, from left, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.; former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani; former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee; Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.; Sen. Sam Brownback R-Kan.; former secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson; former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney; former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore; Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo.; and Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas; are seen during the Republican debate at the University of South Carolina’s Koger Center for the Arts, in Columbia, S.C.
Richard Baehr over at Real Clear Politics makes the case for a Giuliani – Huckabee ticket:
On the GOP side, assuming the nominee is Rudy Giuliani, he could improve his appeal to social conservatives and Southerners by picking for his VP nominee a candidate such as Mike Huckabee of Arkansas. That would likely secure that state’s 6 Electoral votes, and might enhance his margin in other Southern states as well. But the GOP nominee will be favored in all the Southern states to begin with.
Flap thinks this is a plausible choice, assuming that Condoleezza Rice is unavailable. Rumors have it that she plans to return to California and run for Governor in 2010.
On the Democrat side, Flap has always maintained it would be Hillary and Bill Richardson.
