Rudy Giuliani Watch: California Field Poll Has Rudy With 21 Point Lead
U.S. Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani (R) greets a fair-goer while attending the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines August 15, 2007.
The California Field Poll was released today and Mayor Rudy Giuliani continues to lead by double digits.
The GOP NUTS:
The Field organization makes the point that Romney and Thompson are surging with the collapse of the McCain campaign. Hell, they continue behind by over 20 percentage points.
Remember California chooses its GOP nominee by Congressional District and Rudy leads across California. Let’s look at the poll specifics:
Rudy continues with a substantial lead in California.
Note Mitt Romney’s trouble with evangelical Christian voters in California.
Doubtful – They will probably divide any anti-Rudy vote.
Now, if McCain and Thompson were both to withdraw in early January 2008, then Romney might have a shot. But, this is doubtful.
