Ron Paul Watch: The November 5 Creep Show

Allah has the poop on the November 5 Guy Fawkes CREEP SHOW fundraising event for Ron Paul’s fledgling Presidential campaign.

Does anyone know if America’s Greatest Patriot has formally distanced himself yet from any of the myriad kooks and cretins that have attached themselves to his hull? In this week alone we’ve been treated to a report that he’s the candidate of choice for Michigan militia types, an ad cooked up by supporters to reassure voters that the foul hand of Israel holds no sway over him, and now this grassroots promo for a Paul event on November 5 — Guy Fawkes Day, in memory of the man who tried to blow up Parliament — with imagery borrowed from “V for Vendetta,” a violent quasi-anarchist revenge fantasy which creeped Ace out sufficiently to write two separate critiques of how dangerously incendiary it was.

The media’s starting to chatter about the peculiarities of some of the Bircheresque Crank’s more crankish, bircheresque supporters, but they’re always quick to qualify it by noting that Paul hasn’t sought their endorsement — which isn’t true, incidentally, in the case of Truthers, whom he’s deliberately wooed by appearing on Alex Jones’s radio show.

Time for Representative Ron Paul to either publicly embrace the LEFTIST and RIGHT WING nutbars that are supporting him or repudiate their involvement in his campaign.

NZ Bear had these photos from (CORRECTED) outside the FRC’s Washington Values Voter today International ANSWER anti-war rally in D.C. back in September:

And this would be the nice Ron Paul crazies who joined with their Socialist brothers at the protest:

So, will Ron Paul repudiate the CREEP SHOW or embrace it?

Stay tuned……..

Ron has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
Ron has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
Ron has never voted to raise congressional pay.
Ron has never taken a government-paid junket.

Ron votes against regulating the Internet.
Ron voted against NAFTA and CAFTA.
Ron votes against the United Nations.
Ron votes against the welfare state.
Ron votes against reinstating a military draft.

Ron votes to protect civil liberties.
Ron votes to secure our borders with real immigration reform

I was curious why Ron Paul supporters would be protesting outside an event where he was speaking, so I skimmed through the post you linked to and read that it was an anti-war rally back in September in DC, not outside the Values Voters event. Not sure how you got that mixed up.

And I realize it’s Erick Erickson’s caption, not yours, but it’s laughable to insinuate because two groups protest the war together, they’re therefore “brothers” and are aligned on everything ideologically. Yes, those Ron Paul supporters are so socialist! Always asking for universal health care and other government handouts.

    • Flap

Thanks Gregor I corrected the piece.

If they are not protesting together then Ron Paul should repudiate them and tell them to get lost.

      Right?

What about the other groups to which Ron Paul panders?

      • Gregor Morrill

        You’re welcome.

Why would Ron Paul – who is opposed to the Iraq War – repudiate some supporters for protesting the Iraq War??

They clearly are protesting “together” (in the sense of physical proximity). I didn’t say otherwise. Should Ron Paul repudiate every little ignorant assumption of ideological proximity – particularly when there is blatant evidence to the contrary of those assumptions? Indeed, Mr. Erickson makes it clear in his wording that he is familiar with and agrees with Ron Paul’s fundamental ideals, so clearly the “socialist brothers” caption was only a poor smear attempt.

        • Flap

Ron Paul should repudiate the NUTS who are supporting his campaign – not just the anti-Iraq War Socialist Party types.

Check out the links in the piece above. Some pretty unsavory folks.

          Don’t you think?

        • Gregor Morrill

I should clarify: The only name I found on that blog post was “See also: Erick Erickson” and I presumed that was the author. Looks like I was wrong and it’s just the pseudonym “N.Z. Bear” as you used, so references to Mr. Erickson can be replaced with that.

        • Gregor Morrill

I’m an anti-Iraq War, non Socialst Party member (just FYI. There’s quite a diversity in the anti-war crowd). 🙂

Four paragraphs into the “Michigan militia types” link I find:

The Paul campaign dismissed the pro-Paul activities among these groups. “We don’t know who these people are,” said Jesse Benton, Paul’s communications director. Their support has “nothing to do with Ron Paul, and what he stands for….His message of freedom, peace and prosperity – that’s why people support him.”

But I presume that’s not enough.

Are you trying the guilt by association logical fallacy, here?

        • Flap

Ron Paul should repudiate these NUTTER groups and return their contributions.

If it quacks like a duck…….

Moreover, he has pandered to them.

        • Gregor Morrill

If it quacks like a duck…….

Sorry, what again has Ron Paul said (“quacked”) that makes you think he’s aligned with these groups?

And how has he pandered to them?

Guess you don’t read the blogs so much.

You have this weird tendency to ignore what I say, or just restate it. What’s up with that?

I just said I don’t read what would be classified as “right wing” blogs usually. Google was unhelpful, only returned his site in the top 5 results. I know what his site is, that doesn’t tell me who he is. Anyway, congrats to him for being renown.

        • Flap

g-Love, reread Allah’s piece at Hot Air and the piece at Huffpo. Your questions will be answered.

You didn’t look very hard. I guess you must be busy with school. Try this link which I found on Google.

Update: Check out the nice Ron Paul ad asking for money at the Storm Front White Nationalist Community Discussion Board site here

          Update #2:

Here is a Ron Paul thread at Storm Front.

Ron Paul should repudiate this site, cancel his ad and return any and all contributions.  These folks are white racist supremecist nutbars.

        • Gregor Morrill

(I wrote and posted this comment over the weekend; apparently it was flagged as spam and never actually posted; reposting now)

I just reread them. Neither contain something Ron Paul has said indicating he has aligned himself with these groups. Neither indicate how he has pandered to them either. Why can’t you answer the simple questions yourself?

The Hot Air piece alleges that he’s “deliberately wooed” 9/11 Truthers by appearing on Alex Jones, which is a claim that wasn’t really backed up. He has addressed this on at least two occasions that I’m aware of.

August 5, 2007, FOX News. video pt 1, video pt 2

(Pertinent part taken from pt. 2)
Julie Banderas: “Why would you associate yourself with this kind of guy [Alex Jones], considering your reputation as a presidential hopeful?”

Ron Paul: “Just think what it would be like if I could only go on the major TV networks when I knew they agreed with me. All major networks agreed with the war, that meant I could never be on any major TV network. Of course I don’t support everything he says. People that I associate with – I don’t endorse their views, they come and associate with me to endorse my views, or I’m just expressing my views. There’d be no way I could be on television if that was the litmus test – that I had to agree with everything they stood for and that they promoted, it just wouldn’t work.”

John Gibson also had him on his radio show and asked basically the same question, receiving a similar response – though the interview was pretty bad overall because Mr. Gibson couldn’t stop talking over him or putting words in his mouth. (audio)

My profile is out of date, but thanks for reading it. 🙂 I’m finished with school. Anyway, now I know who NZ Bear is. Thanks.

      • Cameron

Ron Paul panders to NO ONE. You were obviously misinformed. Ron Paul is so consistent, it will make your head spin. Ron Paul give the same message no matter where he is, no matter who is in attendance, whether anyone else is on his side or not. He is not afraid to stand alone. He is an American hero.

If you support Ron Paul, join the rest of us and donate any money you can on November 5th, so that it will never be forgot.

V is for Victory. Ronald Earnest Paul.

  • Hotchney

Socialists? Yeah right. We Ron Paul supporters won’t stand for YOUR socialist policies. All we’re trying to do is get a capitalist free-market lover in the white house. Yes, some supporters are kooky. Most are not. You’re going to be in for one hell of a surprise when the primaries roll around.

      • Cameron

Ron Paul will definitely be the GOP nominee. You haven’t been paying attention. No one else has been making a steady climb upwards in donations and volunteers.

  • Cascadian

You mean the Theocon Neocon creeps that have been speaking for the Party and enabling it’s misbegotten path for the last Seven? I think he repudiates you quite well. You have not been responsible stewards. You have failed to provide oversight for your own. You have lead the party to ruin. Your time is over.

  • Mike

You fascists are hilarious. Anyone wants to stop murdering muslims and sending young Americans to fight senseless wars is a “socialist crazy”, lol.

  • Paul Eres

Flap is a well known supporter of Dick Cheney. Please ignore him and try to convince people who never heard of Paul to vote for him, not people who have months of history smearing him, it makes a lot more sense, you’re wasting your valuable time this way. Join a MeetUp group or something.

  • Gregor Morrill

There was a reply comment I posted here over the weekend, the message said it was flagged for moderation. Just FYI in case that slipped through the cracks. It contained some links, but wasn’t spam.

    • Flap

As you know I don’t moderate comments but the spam filter I have is strong. I receive hundreds of spam comments and trackbacks a day. Even then some get through and have to be manually deleted = a pain in the a__.

I do enforce my comments policy though.

The November 5th RP fundraiser is loosely tied to V for Vendetta which was based on a graphic novel by Alan Moore which is loosely based on the history of Guy Fawkes’s attempt to destroy Parliament in the 1600’s. The novel is about a revolt against an evil government by its people. In typical American movie fashion, the movie version and its main character are violent, but that’s what sells, right? Violence?

I’m going to donate $100 to the RP campaign in peaceful protest of my authoritarian leaders on November 5th. They don’t listen to anything but money, and RP doesn’t take corporate money so he’s at a disadvantage. I and 7,500 (today with 2 weeks left) intend to help level the playing field.

  • wolfsheim

Did this guy ever even watch V for Vendetta? Or get any clue at all as to why it was made, what the creator’s story is all about? I guess 1984 is just a farcical sci-fi story in his imagination. But then its his obvious intention to NOT make any valid reference to the movie V because it might actually justify its connection to the Ron Paul supporters and the current events of today. Calling it “a violent quasi-anarchist revenge fantasy” is like calling Orwell’s prophetic work, a spooky dysotopic SF book. Perhaps “AllahPundit”, when he grows up he’ll be able to read adult books and be able to understand them a bit besides just looking for the pop-up pictures.

  • sharpinchitown

Flap, Ron Paul is good folk. Period. He doesn’t believe in indiscriminate killing, whether it’s abortion or unjust war. What is wrong with that?

If socialists and anarchists and skinheads and whomever else want to support Ron Paul, SO WHAT? He’s not going to pander to anyone and he’s not going to dismiss anyone because of their lifestyle choices; he’s not exclusionary.

If they all agree on the war stance great – why is that an issue? He’s bringing people together that wouldn’t normally give each other the time of day. To me that makes him a uniter instead of a divider, unlike everyone else.

As for calling someone who doesn’t agree with your philosophy a kook? That’s as childish as saying those who don’t wear your favorite color a bunch of nut cases – it’s illogical and seriously might point to the need for some ego work.

  • Flap

Sorry but KKK Grand Wizards and Neo-Nazis are not a lifestyle choice.

These people are NUTS as is Ron Paul.

His political beliefs are NOT mainstream and are rants of lunatic or a KOOK.

Nut case is a good phrase to define him.
