David Brody explains why the National Right to Life League did NOT endorse Mitt Romney for President.

The Romney campaign may be disappointed because they didn’t get the endorsement from National Right to Life but maybe the organization had a look at the following videotape. If you go about three and a half minutes in, Romney is seen distancing himself from being endorsed by Massachusetts Citizens for Life during a debate while he was running for Governor in 2002. He didn’t want any part of that endorsement at the time.

Hugh Hewitt, a high profile Romney supporter and hagiographer tersely interviewed David O’Steen of the National Right to Life League yesterday about their selection of Fred Thomspon for President. Hewitt maintains the endorsement should not go to Thompson because of his failure to endorse the Human Life Amendment.

However, a close examination of Mitt Romney’s record – even after he FLIPPED on the right to life is not so clear that Romney endorses the Human Life Amendment.

Instead of grumbling to the National right to Life League the Romney folks should clarify Mitt’s position on the issue.

Maybe he will FLIP again?
