Rudy Giuliani Florida Poll Watch: Rudy Leads By 21 Points
Republican presidential hopeful, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani talks with businessmen, prior to an address at a political group breakfast in Bedford, N.H.., Monday Nov. 26, 2007.
Rudy Giuliani continues a commanding double digit lead in the latest CNN Florida GOP poll:
- Rudy – 38%
- Mitt Romney – 17%
- John McCain – 11%
- Fred Thompson – 11%
- Mike Huckabee – 9%
- Ron Paul – 5%
This poll is in contrast to this morning’s poll that shows Mike Huckabee in second place makes one wonder if the previous poll is an outlier.
In any event, Rudy has a COMMANDING lead in Florida where tomorrow’s You Tube Debates will be held.
Stay tuned…..

Fred Thompson Slaps Mitt Romney in Latest Campaign Ad?; Update: Fred Slaps Mike Huckabee Too

Is Fred Thompson stoking the controversy of Mitt Romney’s appointment of Massachusetts Superior Court Judge Kathe Tuttman?
With Romney collapsing in Iowa, the GOP campaigns smell blood in the water.
Look for other such ads regarding Judge Tuttman.
Update:
And, Fred Thompson is taking a swipe at Mike Huckabee for the recommending the parole of rapist Wayne DuMond.
There you have it – a TWOFER.

Rudy Giuliani Florida Poll Watch: Huckabee Now in Second Place
Republican presidential hopeful, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, waves as he marches in the annual Holiday Parade in Salem, N.H., Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007.
Rudy Giuliani continues a commanding lead in Florida but in an interesting development former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has climbed into second place.
- Rudy – 26%
- Mike Huckabee – 17%
- John McCain – 13%
- Mitt Romney -12%
- Fred Thompson – 9%
- Ron Paul – 3%
- Duncan Hunter – 1%
- Tom Tancredo – 1%
- Undecided – 18%
Without a doubt this is excellent news for the Mayor. The two candidates which conventional wisdom has selected as potential threats to Hizzoner in Florida are dropping in the polls.
With Mitt Romney’s apparent collapse from an overwhelming lead in Iowa and Fred Thompson’s lack of polling support in Iowa and New Hampshire, the race for the 2008 GOP nomination may be boiling down to be between Rudy and Mike Huckabee.
Will Mike Huckabee be able to mount an effective campaign against a better organized and financed Giuliani?
Stay tuned…..

Mitt Romney Watch: A Muslim in His Cabinet?
Republican presidential hopeful, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney campaigns at a recreational center in Keene, N.H. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007.
Will qualified Americans of the Islamic faith be selected for a cabinet position in a Romney administration?
Apparently NOT.
I asked Mr. Romney whether he would consider including qualified Americans of the Islamic faith in his cabinet as advisers on national security matters, given his position that “jihadism” is the principal foreign policy threat facing America today. He answered, “…based on the numbers of American Muslims [as a percentage] in our population, I cannot see that a cabinet position would be justified. But of course, I would imagine that Muslims could serve at lower levels of my administration.”
Is Mitt Romney a religious bigot?
Doubtful and the responses to the entire FLAP indicate this.
But, Mitt should explain why the “BEST PERSON” for the job always trumps identity politics.
Update:
And, the Christian Science Monitor has some explaining to do about the background of the questioner, Mansoor Ijaz.
Was this a set-up SMEAR by a Democrat fundraising operative?
Update #2:
Mitt Romney’s spokesman, Kevin Madden doesn’t help Romney make his case:
Kevin Madden, Romney’s national press secretary, told Politico: “At this point, we’re not focused on what Gov. Romney’s Cabinet might look like. But the governor does not believe that in order to effectively fight radical jihad you need to have Muslims serving in the Cabinet.â€
Now, is this story growing legs?

Ron Paul Watch: It Is About Votes
Republican presidential hopeful, Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, signs an autograph for Scott Gilbert, of Des Moines, Iowa, during the Iowa Straw Poll, in Ames, Iowa on August 11, 2007
Sorry Patrick but Stuart Rothenberg has a more accurate portrayal of the Ron Paul campaign.
How can we explain Ron Paul? This is a big country with hundreds of millions of people, some of whom are attracted to quirky, anti-establishment candidates. And some of those people are angry, looking for an outspoken leader and searching for an easy answer to the nation’s problems.
But there simply are not all that many of them.
The Internet undoubtedly has made it easier for Paul supporters to connect with the campaign and with each other, and it’s become a terrific way to raise cash for a candidate with emotional followers. But Web chatter, declarations of undying support on Facebook and even surprising fundraising totals don’t make a serious contender out of a candidate from the political fringe.
It IS about VOTES.
Update:
And, THIS is just SLEAZY.
