Rudy Giuliani Watch: Giuliani – McCain Ticket? Redux in New Hampshire

Republican presidential hopeful, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, addresses a gathering at a full coffee house during a campaign stop in Hampstead, N.H., Sunday Dec. 23, 2007.

Rudy Giuliani campaigning today in New Hampshire again showed the love to Senator John McCain.

During a campaign stop in Hampstead, N.H. today, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani said his Republican opponent, John McCain, R-Ariz., would make a “really good adviser.”

The former mayor was asked that since he did not have Washington experience like McCain, how would he navigate through the likely complicated dealings with Congress?

“John would be a really good adviser,’’ Giuliani said. “He’s a good friend. This campaign’s going to be over at some point, John is a friend now, he is going to remain a friend then.’’

Looking more exuberant than he has in recent days, Giuliani went on to praise McCain calling him “a hero of mine” for which he has great respect.

He went on to say while that McCain may have more experience in Washington, he had more executive experience.

“John has his assets, and strong points, and I have mine,’’ he said. “And I think that mine are that I’ve run a lot of things. I’ve been an executive. In government, out of government. I’ve had a chance to develop the things that you need to move large organizations. And to get large things done, and handle big crises and turn things around.”

The fact is that both of them on the GOP ticket will make a formidable team to defeat the Democrats. Both are balanced and experienced politicians.

Flap lays odds that when the GOP primary dust settles if either of them win the top spot – the other will be named the VP.
