Rudy Giuliani Television Ad, “Super Bowl”

The pundits have been hard on the Giuliani campaign without regard to the small number of voters deciding through either a caucus or an election on a candidate in the less populated states of Iowa and New Hampshire.

The voter demographics in these states is not representative of America as a whole but yet for decades have had a disproportionate share of the say as to who the Presidential nominee of each party is. This is why California and a number of states moved up their primary elections. American voters want a SAY.

The parties after this Presidential election cycle MUST develop a regional primary system, like Super Duper Tuesday, to enfranchise more VOTERS.

The script for the Ad is here.

Voice Over: “With pundits and politicos handicapping the campaign like the Super Bowl, it’s easy to lose sight of what’s at stake. An economy in peril. A country at war. A future uncertain. The media loves process. Talking heads love chatter. But Florida has a chance to turn down the noise. And show the world that leadership is what really matters.”

Mayor Giuliani: “I’m Rudy Giuliani and I approved this message.”

I read that the McCain campaign says it now has the money to campaign in Florida, and beyond. However, he has no organization in either California or Florida. If McCain wins both Michigan and South Carolina, can he win Florida and march to the nomination?

      Your thoughts.

I think McCain can be a player but the way delegates are apportioned in Florida and Super Tuesday it would be very hard for him to win an outright majority.

Remember the Mayor will be able to sweep the Northeast states. And, some in the far West.

Did you read my piece on a Brokered Convention?

I read the Brokered Convention piece. It is certainly a possiblity. However, even if a nominee does not emerge after Feb 5, there are large state primaries to follow.

Romney should leave if he loses Michigan. If Hukabee loses South Carolina ( which is a possiblity ) it will be between Rudy and McCain. If Huckabee wins the Palmetto state, he will go on. Rudy’s chances increase as the field becomes more limited.

I can see McCain and Rudy cutting a deal at the Convention. However, I have never been a fan of McCain. He is self-centerd and egotistical, and not to be trusted.

I note that the commentators are still obsessed with Rudy’s strategy. The Rombots over at Race42008 are now harping about how Rudy is near or at single digits in the daily Rasmussen poll, which is meaningless. A Rudy win in Florida will put him up again, if one cares about Rasmussen, which I don’t.

Rudy can win in many states head to head with McCain.

Also, voting has already started in many of the Super Tuesday states.

Romney has very little to offer the race should he lose Michigan. If he wins he deeply wounds McCain and helps Huckabee too.
