Shocker – Arnold Schwarzenegger Proposes California Budget Cuts

arnoldjanuary102007aweb

The California State Parks proposed for closure by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

How many different times does Flap have to spell it out that Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a disastrous Governor for California – on the order of Gray Davis.

Now, Arnold who has failed to balance the budget in every fiscal year he has been California governor has proposed new draconian cuts.

California State Senator Tom McClintock has been screaming at the Governator but Arnold has not listened.

So, Arnold has two choices:

1. Become unpopular and make the cuts

2. Become unpopular and raise taxes

The day of reckoning which was at hand when Arnold was first elected (when Democrat Governor Gray Davis was recalled) and could have been prevented by prudent fiscal management is here.

It is a bitch being Governor, isn’t it Arnold?

Someday you might have to govern.

Update:

Sacramento Bee blogger Dan Weintraub says the Governor is NOT real and that Democrats Perata and Nunez were soft on the Governator today – hinting that they have made a deal on the budget already.

I didn’t know that. Thanks for the heads up. For whatever reason, I love to pile on Arnold in my blog. Seems like he’s the kind of Governor everyone loves to hate..

Approaching a budget deficit like this with a 10% across the board cut is the lazy way to address the problem. It assumes that all government programs are the same, that there are no programs that have a higher priority than others.

And on dental issues, Flap, Arnold eliminates the adult side of Denti-Cal for the poor (which has always been optional in the program, but CA has exercised that option), and THEN cuts 10% from the children’s side of the program….The combined cuts are somewhere around 35% to Denti-Cal, so where’s the “equity” there?

The fact is McClintock and the GOP have hammered Arnold for years on his liberal spending fiscal policy and his borrowing from bonds. Remember the bonds approved by the California voters to pay off the Gray Davis deficit?

He was elected to clean up the financial mess created by the Democrat legislature and Gray Davis and he has failed.

Who knows what the final cuts will be? Weintraub says the budget is “not real” and there will be deals made.

If the GOP holds with no tax increases they will probably borrow and roll the debt over until the next fiscal year and lie about it again.

    Disgraceful.

Why does Arnold always hit the disable, working poor, and elderly as if they have hidden resources that will enable them to come out on top. The disable have no means but are dependent on the state for their meger assistance, The state will be actually be taking food of these poor people’s mouth’ their roofs from their heads. and the consequences for arnold’s uneducated and misled assumption that the poor, disable, and Seniors can not raise their voices and will remain slient. Some of the programs that are at risk are Medi-cal, health care and other services for low income children, the disable families and seniors, In Home Support Services, people who live with AIDS,mental health, Regional Center developmental disabilities services, SSI/SSP COLA, housing and unemployment support that are state funded, luckly he can’t touch Social Security because its federal, or he probally would. Why is it that for a job in administration one needs the education, the qualifications, references and experience before they are hired, Yet Arnold Schwarzenegger got on a ballot with an acting career as an action hero for experience. His millions + for qualification. Actors do not portray their true selves but the character of a script, and in real life the ending is not always a happy one as portrayed in his movies. Hey rappers out there you can be a governor, maybe a better one, because some rappers know what it was like when they were poor. Sincerely a mentally disable woman with a dependent child
