California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Endorses John McCain for President

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, center, endorses Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., right, as former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani looks on at left, after a tour of Solar Integrated Technologies in Los Angeles, Calif., Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008.

Arnold, the Governator, endorses Senator John McCain for President today. When asked by reporters why Schwarzenegger had not endorsed McCain previously for President he blamed Rudy Giuliani (with a laugh) who he called a friend, also.

An endorsement is one thing but will Arnold and the GOP establishment in California start to open their wallets for McCain. And, will Rudy Giuliani who endorsed McCain yesterday also help in bolstering McCain’s woefully poor campaign coffers?

Arnold was good for another chit. Tonight show host and Arnold friend Jay Leno will be hosting both McCain and Giuliani tonight on the NBC Tonight Show.

In the meantime, Mitt Romney has upped the financial ante by scheduling millions of dollars in ad buys in Super Tuesday states that go to the polls in less than a week.

Update:

Texas Governor Rick Perry has just announced his endorsement of John McCain. Perry last October had endorsed Mayor Rudy Giuliani and, in fact, on Monday of this week was campaigning for Rudy in Florida.

Wow. This is a quick transition.

Looks like a tidal wave of endorsements for the Arizona Senator.
